The video for me doesn't work, I'm at work. But did they explain the science behind it? I mean I sort of assume they fused the nerve endings together, because nerves work on a series of reactions. It's been a long time since I've done any biology, but how would they recreate the synapses, sodium gates and chemical pathways etc? Would this also make his arm- immune to any diseases in the motor neurons etc. e.g Parkinsons. On a side note, I'm really impressed, that's such a huge advancement, being able to simulate the human sense of touch. Go science!

Perhaps. Bionics are difficult since the brain has to be able to control mechanical parts.

Then I'd rather have them discover something that makes you're body deteriorate slower. Or maybe transferred to a new body with everything else being the same.

You would rather have a normal, young healthy body? You could have a giant robot body! Or at least robot limb. Think FMA.
