^ Pretty much this. The other sad thing is, we were in the exact same boat not too long ago. If Stephano hadn't won IPL3, if IdrA hadn't won IEM Guangzhou, if Huk hadn't won MLG Orlando, we'd still have our fists in the air ignoring the elephant in the room.

But what I find even more hilarious is the fact that everyone's arguing between Sen and DongRaeGu being the better Zerg, when this controversy is killing eSPORTS!

AZKWitchdoc was pretty active in this thread at the start until the problems started happening, like the 9+ hour delay, the sound problems, the stream constantly dying, the ads running for over 30 minutes several times, etc. But hey, it's cool, they had problems, it's their first big tournament and that was the first day, and it's not like we've forgotten about ol' IPL/MLG/NASL etc.. but at least these guys were quick to respond even if it was just one-liners on Twitter, Facebook, or even in the respective TL thread. Anyway, technical issues aside:

This is ridiculous. It's more than 2 hours late now. I went in line for a VIP pass but was told they don't sell them for today anymore and they were only by reservation. I asked if I could still get a reservation for a VIP pass for tomorrow, and the person at the ticket counter said she didn't know. Huh?? +_+ Then I asked if I could get a regular pass anyway (a non-VIP one), and she said they're still not giving them away at the time. WTF, that was already at 11:40am... 1 hour and 40 minutes after the event was supposed to start, and they're still not letting people in? I don't know what the hell is happening here anymore. I was excited to see all the players at first, but now I'm just pissed.

Now I'm just chilling out in a net cafe nearby cause I came here alone and I don't know what to do anymore while waiting. =/

i think your complaints would have more impact elsewhere (not sure where). i'd be upset if i were you too.

Well, I did post my concerns on the organizer's facebook page. They deleted it.

I feel like by this time they don't even care anymore.

Where did you post your feedback that got deleted? I am sorry this happened, this should never happen and I will talk to whoever runs the page.

I posted in the PhilippinePROstarcraftleague's facebook page. It's okay, I didn't post in the IPL page, since I figured you guys weren't organizing this directly. It's just pretty frustrating to not know what's going on or how I can even get tickets (even after I asked at the ticket counter!) and seeing that even some of the organizers on location don't know what's happening.

Thanks very much for your feedback, I understand your frustrations. I will make sure that their highest levels of management receives your feedback.

Sorry for your troubles!

- Despite this tournament being run by PPSL and only sponsored by IGN, why was there no communication between PPSL and the community? The only responses the community got were from IGN/IPL staff who weren't even at the event.

I want to remind everyone that the IPL is only sponsoring the event and providing the stream (as well as taking the winner to IPL 4), we are not on the ground running the event. We hope the issues will be cleared up shortly so we can all watch some amazing games!

Sen has only gotten better since then. When Tastetosis said that, Sen was still playing SC2 on a part-time basis when he was still in school full time. Whenever Sen ladders all the Koreans message Sen to try to practice against him, can you say that about other zergs?

Yup, you can.

When IdrA ladders all the Koreans message IdrA to try to practice against him.
When Stephano ladders all the Marsians message Stephano to try to practice against him.
When Martin Luther King ladders all the Pokemon ambush Martin Luther King to try to practice against him.

Where did you get this information about Sen's messages and demand for his play on Korean ladder? He's not known for streaming a ton, and he keeps himself to himself most of the time.

Sen is from Taiwan, Taiwan is part of the Korean server.

He laddered a lot on the Korean server even before they merged too. Anybody who thinks he didn't ladder there is ... uh. How else could he get so good?

??? I didn't mean that Sen doesn't ladder on the Korean ladder - if it said that, I wasn't clear enough, sorry. It was intended to mean that anybody can make up crap about players doing X on Y server, but without evidence it doesn't mean all that much.

Again, that isn't what I meant. I'm fully aware that TW and KR servers are merged, and that Sen ladders on Korea ladder (as do all good pros), but I meant that the person I quoted came out with "whenever Sen ladders all the Koreans message Sen to try to practice against him", and I'd never heard that before.

They can be found @ IGNProleague's twitch.tv account. You have to dig up specific matcheds yourself for now, though.

But Moon is pretty much the Kong of foreign events in SC2 ... 2nd at IEM, 2nd at Dreamhack, 2nd at the China LAN.

He's such a baller though. So much LAN experience it's ridiculous, and he's got such amazing stamina too. He's played some fucking loooooooooong War3 games in the past. I forget which map it was, but there was that game against Infi that lasted 80 minutes and ended in a draw.

That is the most shadiest thing. That's really fucked up. Pushing aside a player who really deserved the spot only to be replaced by a player who is tournament organizer/team manager's latest Korean recruit. Come on now. IPL better lay down the law and make it up to YoonYJ!

I just wanted to remind people that if anyone is waiting for an explanation about the situation regarding YoonYJ, it's currently 6:10am here in lovely Manila, so I'd wait until a later hour. I hope this all gets sorted out peacefully...

It is a good thing that IPL decided to take control of this situation. If the qualifers are poorly run, it reflects very poorly on the whole tournament. Hopefully, (and I think probably) the UK qualifiers will be much better run.
