No, you were right. I was just suggesting that since you had no suspicions you could see what you thought about mine. As a way to try and become a more active participant. Also, your posts are slightly difficult to understand because of awkward formatting. Could you try using sentences and punctuation?

Yeah I agree his argument had bad logic but again I think he's just making accusations out of nothing, like this segment for example:
You are by far looking the more sucpicious right now. The accusation on tube is telling to me. After the heat on you it seems you like you know want to set up a policy of lynching lurker or people that do one liners. Instead of drving the attention on one person it appears to me you are trying to get us looking at a whole group in order to confuse the town

I don't necessarily read such an argument as a scumtell because it could also just as easily be his candid attempt at scumhunting. Fact of the matter is, there's virtually no way to tell for something like this.

Also, if you think putting words into people's mouths is suspicious, take a look at JingleHell's early posts against me that sparked the entire bandwagon. He does it multiple times by saying that I basically said so and so and therefore was clearly playing against town.

Woah! It's like a completely different person sat down at your computer and started typing. WELCOME TO THE GAME, TUBE!

I guess it was an easy way to make myself a convenient target by posting something low content early in the first day before I would be able to contribute anything for another 12 hours or so. Regardless, choosing the last name you see for your vote when others have already provided much more to go on seems scummy to me when I wouldn't even be around to defend myself.

YourHarry's self analysis might be indicative that mafia is going with some kind of sacrificial lamb ploy to get our trust. If that's the case, I'll have to follow it up with

smaller, more wrinkly and arthritic FOS on iamperfection

as their entire strategy may have been hinted right in front of us. YourHarry gets to be the sacrificial lamb and anyone on his case early is riding the gravy train for day 1 as they will be safe from lynch tonight.

Nothing has changed. He's definitely a third mafia candidate (shitty posting history plus change in character to what looks like copy-pasted text from someone else) and it wraps up my theory quite nicely. The jig is up on the sacrificial lamb-ing and their strategy has been adjusted. His last couple of posts were completely out of character. Capitalization? Complete sentences? Total 180 and I don't think that a new-found passion for the game is going to change whether or not you type like shit.

If I'm right on this vote, it will mean my read was good (unless I change my stance on the other two I've listed, which is not out of the question by any means) and I can have more faith in my other suspicions. If not, well, it takes a town to vote.

Yeah, I almost always skip punctuation and capitalization for the sake of time on the Internet, but to denounce it as unfathomable that I change that so as to be taken more seriously while I'm being bandwagoned is a pretty terrible read.

Going from no periods to periods on the suggestion of another player isn't a "Total 180", it just means I realized that some people would be more inclined to read my posts if I started formatting.
Again, ask an admin if I was coached or anything of the sort.

When I said coached, I meant cooked up by another scum.

Man, this little burst of action just shakes me up. This is a huge deal to me, as I might not be able to trust my judgement or be prone to being led astray. Arguing about anything but whether or not you are posting was a welcome change.

You are correct about my reading. I didn't read it super closely. It still has your style laced into it, it's just hidden behind capital letters and almost-paragraphs. This is what I get for reading on my mobile device. Not that you're cleared of suspicion, but I tunneled on you hard and I need to back up and re-assess, and certainly give you the chance to participate before I throw you under the bus. My eyes were on you, and only you, and that's something scum would love to see if you are town. I'm sorry about that. I wish I had more to go on regarding my other suspicions, their inactivity left me not much else to look for.

We're coming up on 24 hours soon, which means 24 to go. Ample opportunity to change my vote. The vote remains until a more suitable candidate arises.

By no means does this imply I'm giving him a free pass. If he hasn't come back with something meaningful by lynch time tomorrow, I'm likely to be joining Jingle's (present) company.

I'm still waiting for Fulla to show up for real. Almost 24 hours now since his Welcome Everyone post.

I'm here!!! I am continuously reading. It seems if you use this excuse it's very cliche and scummy, but I'll say it anyways. I'm new (2nd game) I get a bit lost what to do day1. I feel is I try to give reads (noob ones), I'll only assist the scum.

I'll try to contribute, it seems tube is gathering suspicion. Si I'd like to ask.

From reading a few guides, it generally says the overly active hyper day1 posting guy are usually those who turns out green town, even if actually being unhelpful and detrimental to the towns efforts.

So question. From other games, have overly active 1 liner posters commonly turned out scum before when lynched day1? Or when lynched/killed further down the line?

Glad you could join is Fulla

In my experience (LVI) it seemed that the first lynch did not turn out to be scum. But that's just down to odds right..
However, one player who posted short reads, accusations, one liners (Bill Murray in that game) ended up being Mafia Boss and was shot N1.

Food for thought I guess. Kind of hard to extrapolate good data or trends for D1.

Fulla it took over 24 hours from your first post to your second. Any comment beyond I'm new? Is this your normal posting habits or can we expect more from you?
I don't know what a rough statistic of what a one-liner poster might flip as, but it is not the same as an overactive day1 poster. The lack of content is what is detrimental, and that is reason enough for suspicion because that type of posting is beneficial to mafia. In general I don't believe an overly active poster could be hurting town unless he was actively pushing scummy agenda's and would probably get called out for it.

The other thing is that your reads are needed to help town no matter how newbie they are. Don't let that stop you.

Are you asking as a curiosity, or are you planning to base your first vote/accusation on statistics? The people playing in this game are all new, so I would be suprised if any of them knew. What is worrisome is that this is your first contribution, a question that could probably be answered with a few searches through the directory's threads or a simple google search.

No thoughts on anything you have read here? I stirred up some trouble not that long ago and I earned myself a vote. Do you have a read on me?

I understand what you mean about re-assessing; it's a big turn and it deserves careful thought. I think it's important to ask a few questions in regards to the 'change'. Is it such a big change after being nagged and attacked? I did request that he use sentences and punctuation. Would YOU have a philosophical change like that mid game? Does it make more sense for a townie or a mafia to change styles? Is the more complicated answer really the best one? This is what I've been thinking.

It's certainly suspect but I am currently inclined to read town. I think it's a very risky strategy to try and escape suspicion because of a philosophical change. Very prone to backfire and I would think he would have had to plan it before the game even began. His last game was in 2011 and he posted similarly to how he did at the beginning of our thread (for what little use that meta-analysis is).

@Calgar: that's pretty much in words how I was feeling. I came into this game ready to give my 100% and I think it irked me more than it should have that tube was participating in such a blasé manner, while still posting so frequently.

It's now officially past the first half of the day cycle, so I would love to see more activity from those who have been very quiet.

I'll be away from my computer for a few hours for RAW tonight (leaving in about half an hour) but I'll keep keeping up with reading any new posts during commercials via mobile.

@JingleHell I would rather have a strategy and have a discussion than lurk, make no claims, or hold no convictions. We have agreed that non-participation is bad. If you want me to adjust my strategy then propose another that holds more merit. Sitting around waiting for something to happen is boring. Again, I was tunneling tube, I got somewhat over-impassioned about maybe finding a scum and I let myself be taken over by it. Lesson learned.

I already conceded the I was wrong about the tell. That doesn't excuse everything else that has been discussed.

Noted regarding the time zone.

Nevertheless, 8 pages of discussion and you have nothing to add? Discussions, accusations, voting have been going on and you don't have anything to say? No suspicions? Your lack of posting is anti-town currently.

I would like to refer you to obvious' previous quote because I think it is applicable here.

Strategy is good, discussion is good. That's what we're doing. Of course, I'm not going to work too much off of anyone else's strategy, because I don't know for sure any of you are town right now. The person I trust most is probably Marvellosity, by virtue of not being in the game.

So, strategery! I'm going to apply my strategery to our discussion, and so far, our discussion has been good.

By the way, you kind of have something SERIOUS to explain here.

@JingleHell hi. I'm the guy who noted you used a colloquialism and defended you for it earlier. Anyone can throw anyone to the wolves. Take them out in back of the barn and shoot them. Leave them for dead. Thanks for letting me know my figures of speech are tells when they match anything ever said or used in a mafia game. I'll try to avoid them if it makes you feel better.

Please, take everything I say and compare it to everything ever written about scum. When you're done, you can lynch me and watch me flip town.

Such nonsense.

Oh, and tube, if you want an example of why your original style had me so nervous, go check out Esspen in Newbie XVIII.

He was the Scum team's MVP, and he was a townie. He last second secured two mislynches, and then promptly died at MYLO to give us the game.

EBWOP actually I should feel bad about it, as discussed here not every player is from the USA and may not be familiar with them. We should all consider avoiding them when possible.
