My focus of streaming is to reach a professional level of casting. I took the first step by making sure I cast every Sonic Starleague match each weekend. But as I improve I plan on adding so much more content for viewers.
My casting style: I want to be a faster paced style caster. When I hear koreans cast it flows almost like a speedy song with good rhythm. I believe there is a way for English casters to achieve this.
Currently I only cast Brood War as I dedicate my time into what I love most.
About me: On TL I am a staff member. I do interviews with foreign and Korean players. I even contact Sonic and with his blessing already given to me I hope to one day make it to Korea and cast a live game from there which leads me into goals.
GOALS: I seriously want to achieve my dream of casting a live Brood War game from Korea. I know that if I can keep up my casting consistency I can only improve. But it's up to everyone here to give me constructive criticisms and help me bring the best content possible to the fans. My stream goal from the beginning is that if at least one person is watching me then it's worth all the hard work.
Thank you for making your way to this thread. I decided to create it due to many people suggesting it and the fact that I want to keep everyone updated on my status.

Update #1 I was supposed to cast the SSL live this morning but I have an infection in my throat. I thought I could fight past it but the pain is really tough. I'm rescheduling for tomorrow at 5pm est 4/72013. Please be there as I rebroadcast SSL Ro16 Group B!

Oh nice, I'm excited to get english casts for the SSL!

Love your casting! Watched all of your casts and already one of my top few casters. I like how you don't use unnecessary "like"s, your enthusiasm, and your slips of humor throughout the game. Mmmm, yummy!
My two cents:
1. Don't be afraid to admit that you don't understand what's going on in a game. Articulating what's in front of you understandably throws your game sense and awareness off. I've always favorited casters who were humble in that respect and even resort to the chat for advice during the game (i.e. Sayle! <3).
2. This might be personal preference but it'd be nice to focus on the build orders as opposed to what's going on on the screen (I mean, we can see for ourselves right? :D ). Aside from game changing engagements (where you go into shoutcaster mode), explaining why the game looks like how it does now separates the boys from the men for me. I think I choose to listen to one caster over another because I'm trying to learn something new each time, as opposed to listening about how the pixels are moving on the screen. Of course, I think this is the hardest part of the job.
Looking forward to more and SSL!

Thanks for the casting, it's always nice to get some more english BW commentary. I've actually considered giving feedback to you somehow but couldn't be bothered to find your email adress. I think you should take very good care not to say "Uhm" "Ehh" and that sort of filler so much. You do it a lot, and though it's stressful to speak before people (whether you can see them or not) and you think that it sounds stupid if you're quiet it's actually not that apparent that you don't know what to say if you're just silent instead of going "Uhh... So...." I think it's a skill that you can work on, but you're on the right track.
Personally I also have a hard time with this whole "cheerful happy nerd" persona that some casters create and which I think you're sort of doing occasionally. That's perhaps my own reserved Swedish-ness but I think you don't have to be bubbly and happy-go-lucky to convey a sense of excitement and love of the game. Compare Sayle, for example.
But overall I think you're pretty good and I like the work you're putting in. So take this critique constructively. We all began somewhere.

Yay. Thank you all ^^ for adding comments!
Yeah, I say umm a shit ton lol. I try and exchange my love of starcraft with my fear of public speaking lol. I definitely want to start bringing in a technical cast but right now my short term goals are too just be able to talk consistently through the games. My awareness will pick up eventually.
I find that the hardest thing is I will always be compared to Sayle who has had so much experience and practice while I'm new I'm expected to compete with the best. But on the other hand it's a great motivator knowing that I'm competing with the best in the business. In the end no matter my performance I have so much fun challenging myself to leave my comfort zone by doing this.

Yeah, I get that : ) And what's good about this problem is that it's something that you can correct with enough experience and work. Do you ever do any preparations for casts? I mean either casting by yourself, just talking out loud? Or listening to your own casts afterwards and making notes? Or preparing little fact-sheets or notes to make sure you got stuff to do? Maybe you could try doing something like that to either work on removing fillers like "uhm" or to make sure that you always got some fresh material to go with. Like, say, writing three key-words for Fighting Spirit or something if that's the map to be played and when you feel you don't know what to say you can look at the note and read that Jaedong once did X on the map which made that really popular blah blah blah.
Also, I think Sayle isn't the best caster in the world. I do enjoy his stuff a lot, but I don't think you need to emulate him or compare yourself. You can have your own style and I think surpass him.
Anyway, gl hf!

Uh oh BD, she's already got the "Mrs" in front of her name, run for the hills!
Seriously though, you've been doing a great job with your casting imo, I particularly enjoy your humor as it seems very free flowing and not forced like it seems for some other people. Guys like you are the pillars that keep this game alive, so you have all our thanks.

Being a caster requires objectivity, and I don't see this from most Bisu fans.

If I casted sc2 it would probably only be once just to see what its like to cast a bisu game unless of course I'm offered money because I do brood war for free out of love not for the dollar bill.
