I am very active reading on TL, but not so much for posting. It is simply to announce that I am now hosting a stream for a few reasons.
The first being that I need help, I have bounced from bronze to plat in 1 season, and then bounced back into gold, etc. I frequently train with players higher level than me so I know that my league isn't representative of my true capabilities despite the flaws in my game.
I'm hosting a stream to correct these flaws, hosting it hopefully gives me the incentive to play better, and more importantly receive feedback from you guys in regards to what I can be improving. I know that in a vast majority of the cases, nobody really wants to watch a gold/plat player stream as there are pro gamers out there. The good news is that I will be laddering and mainly custom games vs Diamond or Master calibre players.
Truth be told that I believe that it's good for lower rank players to get a perspective of games in their leagues, hopefully helping them get a sense of what is needed at every stage of the game.
The good news is that the game will be streamed on Extreme settings and the stream itself will be in 720+ HD, so that it can at least be pleasant to watch. Online 5 times a week in the evenings, times will vary but I am in the eastern time zone.
I am looking forward to entertaining and learning with all of you, as I will be frequently commenting and doing matches with anybody that would like to practice with me.

I say aiming for GM, because who doesn't aim for that?
Because I came to SC from a WoW background, I was always so confused when people talked about PvP and other matchups, especially since I started as Protoss...
Well, I can say that I won't watch your stream, but I still want to just wish you luck, as I'm chasing the same dream (aren't we all? <3)
I don't understand how watching another low level player helps. Could your please explain? Also, wouldn't road to diamond be more appropriate considering your current skill?
It's perfectly understandable, I know most people wouldn't be all that interested, but as long as people know they have someone to practice with and have the chance with someone with similar skill level practice gives it a little change..
Well I just don't see the point in trashing a guy who's seeking to improve personally. Anyway didn't TL's resident Protoss Agony Aunt CecilSunkure come all the way out of bronze to recently being picked up by a pro team?
I can play you with Z/T and give you feedback from a protoss perspective (P main). ZvP ~mediocre diamond, TvP ~low/mid master. If you're interested add me (Harmony.287) and give me a msg whenever I'm on! If you've got other practice partners I can also obs games from your perspective.
Having high goals is good and all, but using them for a sensationalist title is not so good. The road to gm should at least imply that you are masters, as the road even then is very far.

NA GM is a lot easier to get into then you think right now tho... And to the OP I wish you best of luck on your glorious trip from gold to GM!
Hey man its great that you are trying to get better. I think you will find it hard to get a lot of viewers until you reach higher levels, but stream or no stream keep playing a lot!!!
Maybe my story will be somewhat of a motivation... I started in Bronze after placements, used about two weeks to get to platinum (this was in 2010), then I had a long break, played for about 2 months in spring 2011, then went inactive. Came back now early november and I am mid Diamond and still getting better. With so little effective playing time (and when I've played, maybe 5-6 games a day at most, often no games at all).. Just watch replays and play safe and standard and you will quickly get better and go up in leagues. If you play a lot, you should reach diamond in just a bit. From there and up.. Well, masters shouldn't take too long once you're in diamond, but to reach GM, that might take some time. Anyhows, good luck and hey when you get way better than me I'll watch your stream :D
I wish you luck on this journey, countryman. As my ISP throttles my access based on usage, I have to be selective with the streams I watch so I probably won't be able to watch you but best of luck anyway.
I should play more too. Maybe tomorrow...or the next day... or Monday, start of the week...maybe then...or...
I just want to thank all the people giving me the positive energy through the feedback and stories! I believe that we all have to start somewhere, and that hopefully in the months to come I'll be showing true signs of progress. Already the comments and the views I've received have surprised me, but I am hoping to get some feedback and practice partners more importantly to make it all happen!
Don't forget that I'm fighting players of higher calibre more than streaming on most nights and that I'll be training with my fellow CSC Team members as Tort stated
Today is the first day and certainly won't be the last I just hope TL approves my stream to be listed!

Not sure you understand positivity but you should always shoot for the stars, dream big, think big. Has anyone who has been successful and positive dreamed so small? as you are suggesting?

Hey man fuck the haters, if you want to do something go for it!
To be GM though I wouldn't just play ladder or play skirms with players. I mean, playing vs players in specific maps / matchups are good and all, but what's just as important is play micro games (Darglein is the recommended map because of how many real situations it give you to micro).
Writing down what you do wrong or specific timing that are important from either your own replays or from someone you've watched is a good one.

Sure thing man, I mean even a homeless guy who dropped out of school when he was 12 should aim to become president right?

Or hope to one day have a rabid caterpillar as his icon right?
All jokes aside, good luck son and I hope you rock the ladder!

Don't listen to the people putting you down, I started in bronze in s1 now sitting in masters comfortably, It wasn't an easy trip this being my first RTS , but with hard work and a good mindset you can do it too!! Although I inherently don't like many protoss players (I play terran) I wish you good luck on your journey through NA Ladder!

Can't agree with you. Season 1 I was bronze. Season 2: gold. Season 3: Platinum. Season 4: Diamond. And right now, I am right near the top of my division. I've hardly put the work in to be getting better. When I start to plateau (probably soon), I'll put the work in to get over the hump. You don't have to start near the top to get to the top. You just have to work hard and want it. This guy clearly does.
Just bumped on ur post and i simply wanted to wish u good luck. Also u said something on ur post about not being exactly where u belong on ladder etc despite flaws on ur play.I used to have the same mindset but now i strongly believe that everybody is exactly where he belongs. It doesnt matter for example if ur macro or a specific aspect of ur game feels amazing if many other aspects of ur game are totally bad, like learning to defending all-ins,poor scouting, poor engagements etc.Imo embrace ur league each time ,embrace your flaws and improve on them and dont believe that you are better than you really are.Dont focus on what is winning you games but on what is losing you games even from players u feel are inferior than you.I will stop now cause i think i made my point now :D I hope that you will reach your goals soon enough.Best of luck m8! Gl Hf!!
I was going to laugh at you, but then I realised that my own dream of one day becoming as good as top Koreans while being in mid-master EU is even more ridiculous. Good luck dude.

I suggest u watch some early release games even from gsl and realize how awful these top koreans where back then.I think that the only things that a talented high masters doesnt have is a solid training schedule and a good training environment.Yeah u may not be mvp due to his extreme backround from bw or even inherent talent but u can definetly be a pro-gamer if u decide to put the time needed and treat it like a real job!
I just want to thank everybody for the positivity, and good news is that TL has agreed to list my stream!!!
And definitely know the potential is there... Despite playing SC2 late, at a much younger age of 8 I had tried out sc1 already so I know I got it in me
Well I can definitely tell you that this stream officially deserves to be called the Road to GM.... because I have officially reached Master league!!!!
Thanks for the viewers and people who gave me positivity!
I've achieved Masters in Heart of the Swarm, and have been playing I am in the TOP 10 Currently.. don't know if it will last but I can taste the GM already Hopefully GM 2013!!!
