Not often you get to see such high level play in first person view. Amen to this. That is quite possibly the highest skill level ZvT I have ever witnessed. The use of tech switching, infestors over ridges, strategic brood lord attacks to break what mutalisks couldn't - the baiting of vikings with brood lords... Epic, epic play. You can go all the way IdrA, good luck.

Would be hell for the observer though. So much going on, awesome split second fungals, drops, split up armies with skirmishes all over etc.

Judging from the way he spoke and the way IdrA spoke back, I'd guess that he was a Korean. His name was 'Zeratul' - anyone know if that's a known person?

Everybody crying about marines are OP, etc., grow up and watch a couple of masters going at it. I just shut chat and enjoyed that game. So good. Some highlights: Great muta harass by idrA with what I think was an overall goal of keeping MVP on two bases as long as possible. MVP countering with amazing drops in several locations at once. idrA used fungal growths to the fullest possible extent towards the end. MVP clung to life for about twenty minutes longer than I thought possible. Anyway, I really hope to see a day[9] analysis of this game or at least commentary of it by somebody SOON, because this game made me more of a fan of both of these players.

vs ChoyaFou on Xel'Naga he got triple pylon walled-in after going hatch first, I 90% agree that pre-patch with hatch first this would have been a loss, but this is actually substantially more expensive and Xel'Naga is pretty open, he can actually force a cannon up to kill the expo, cost is probably roughly equal to the hatch + delayed tech, so the real problem is being contained on one base, but I don't think he had even thrown down his pool yet so I think he could've gone fast roach pretty efficiently and still gotten the minerals back from the hatch (when it's almost completed), which might almost enable a few different really gas-heavy builds. Anyways, I hate to be the guy posting this, but I'm really not sure it was time to leave yet. Related note: is it still possible to pylon trick into the base with the new spacing at the bottom of the ramp? If it's not possible you might also have some RPS potential on a 1-base all-in. The extra 100 minerals at that early a point in the game vs pre-patch seems pretty substantial. PS: Funny that on the 7-pool game the next game his opponent left almost as fast, 2 consecutive games about 8 minutes total.

I was just amazed how untouchable MVP was despite the fact he was down by 2-3 bases most of the game. That does seem really frustrating. But then IdrA did go Mass Mass Muta, which can make it understandably hard to end a game with. It did enable him to get a huge macro advantage, so I would have been depressed if IMMVP had won that. I'm still surprised that IdrA just never bothered with roaches anywhere in that game. It was just generally a really sick game.

Damn, I kind of wish that game was recorded on the quality of the Liquid/Dignitas matches during the Gosucoaching match. That game really needs to be highlighted, casted by pro commentators and used as an example of what good ZvT is all about. Well played on both accounts. Also, since pros do not normally release replays of their practice, it kind of makes you wonder how often these types of epic matches end up going unseen by the general public and left to sit in a dusty replay folder.
