![]() I was typing in chatroom, unfortunately u couldn't see it ^^. Wish I could do it in-game but anyway: Im horrified of the number of mistakes you pointed out (thats good, I will watch this episode many times). As I said im having problems with spending resources while microing army. Multitasking needs to improve. I'll defend myself a bit here :D. 1) I didn't lay down the Baneling nest right away, because I wanted to fend off the scouting SCV 2) I didn't do the Muta follow up, because i scouted the Startport with reactor. (+1/1/1 easy to get Thor fast a bit, also I thought that Terran will expect Mutas. Maybe that's why he did so many Vikings). 3) I layed defences one step ahead expecting Banshees (its bad though, it was due to game be4 this one when Terran raped me bad with early cloaked Banshees). Later this payed off, he switched to Banshees and tried to kill my economy but it was impossible. Again, you rewinded... 4) Early upgrades did won me the game, I Couldn't spend resources better due to lack of Fast Expo. 1 Armor upgrade is a big deal as much as weapon upgrade i think. Keep in mind that roaches survive more and it makes them easier to burrow and recover. Also not upgraded tanks kill upgraded armour roach in 4 shots in siege mode instead of 3 since the siege tank nerf (Im pretty sure about this). Much more survivability (expected more tanks). 5) The blunder on Terran part was not getting detectors with his army nor base. 6) You skipped the best parts! Time x4 made my play look like a bronze player who scored a lucky win out of nowhere. Main fight was skipped totally and you said that it must've been a big mistake of Terran player positioning. That really made me sad. Also I did some decent burrow-sneaking roach action in 2 places simulatenously, that was skipped as well and not visible at all. Terran scanned as much as he could after the 1st encounter, but I made it pointless by micro. (skipped again). In conclusion, You focused so badly on the begining and skipped the rest badly in order to get as fast as possible on Jinro/Haypro replay. I felt like you did this replay half-hearted and after early mistakes ("bronze player, lets rewind so hopefully people won't leave my stream") thrown away any will to analyze it to the end (confirmed when u said that there is no way I could win the game, just no attention to what was happening in game from you). I just hope that You will talk about viewers replays to the end from now on. I'm plat btw. I liked a lot the Haypro play, enjoyed the baneling usage until the end. Also analysis was worthy to hear although the level is much more higher than mine. The Jinro's comeback made me sad again as a Zerg. I fought some simillar games (on lower lvl ofcourse) and i suffered same as Haypro. (Drops on my base, Terran expanding on island + mass mule) I would erase the Planetarry Fortress, and make Terran buildings to lift off slower with slower moving speed and not to store energy while in air. Last but not least, I'm still going to watch your Stream. It's really very informative most of time and I hope that you will keep up the analyzing style. Don't listen to haters/trolls who complain about pausing. That's the point of analyze to describe it properly, they just don't understand that rushing to watch replays is not making anyone better (not a lot at least).

I think it may have been a misclick, or some spider sense tingling, I don't even remember. Also, when I'm trying to land my gold expansion there's a hilarious moment where I think he has a burrowed unit there, and use 2 scans... but what is really blocking it is a changeling that is hidden under the floating CC -____-

However at least in episode 8 i was looking to do more analysis than commentary; thats why i paused so much. Also i will try and get an overlay to put over the replay progress bar. I know some of you have been requesting this. But up to this point i haven't done much showmatch commentary, it was mostly replay analysis. I've already recruited someone to moderate the chatroom because there were some trolls in there that we need to smoke out. Moreover, tonight i've actually went on for over 2 hours !!!!! So i'm making this into 2 episodes ! What this means is that tomorrow (actually already today for me) i'll be doing episode 9 ! entitled "BETA Maps"

Yes, i'm busy editing the VOD to upload asap. I will read it right now though and reply here in this post. First of all, once the VOD is up you will be able to see that i've spent 50 minutes just on your replay and it took me 1 hour to get to the Jinro / haypro rep. So i believe me i wasn't skipping ahead just to get to the jinro match !!! Secondly, yes i've skipped over some fights, even the big fight because thats not whats important when analyzing a replay to see where your mistake was. Its very rarely the fights that lose you the game; most times its the things i've focus on. TIMMING TIMMING TIMMING + ECONOMY. Not to mention that i have a reflex of not watching more of a game once i've found the problem that made me or whoever, lose the game... But all in all, i've spent 50 minutes, on the clock, on your replay alone and then 60 more minutes on Haypro vs Jinro !! Speaking non-stop for 2 hours is VERY demanding...

I did one base opening on purpose. I believe that doing things after other people [mostly :-)] won't get me far in this game. I'm trying to figure by myself some things and test them thoroughly. I believe that one base is not necessarily always useless (especially when close air/land starting positions). Fast expansion is ofc good for future economy and i do not deny it, but it makes zerg suffer important issues like weakness to early pressure and lack of possibility to be aggresive. Makes zerg a puppet reacting to the moves of enemy instead of controlling the battlefield. The thing is you could analyze on my replay much more compactly. Some features were pretty obvious and were useful just for total beginners. It felt like you focus on some minor issues mostly. Also there was a pretty long part, when You spaced out of replay, switched to webcam vision and started monologue about some other people gameplay and timings, that kinda threw me off balance and i couldn't see your point back then, wasn't clear enough for me [hopefully I will manage it when VOD come out]. Not to mention that this time I was suffering from some lags. You enlightened me in many things i wasn't aware of as well, and I thank you for it. The problem you found turned out not the be as crucial as it supposed to be. It was entertaining replay in my opinion, so i thought that it would be funny to cast it. I did one base play, was persistent and managed to pull it off against the odds. Hopefully u didn't die from boredom ^^. Also I can't agree to skip the analasis of fights (minor at least), as often tides are diffirent than we thought. That's what I love in SC2. Possible unpredictable outcome of battles, depending on situation, positioning , micro etc. I don't blame you for skipping some parts because mine timings are indisputably piece of crap. I will provide feedback all the time, so prepare to read more from me, hopefull you don't find it as a waste of time :-).

it was unfortunate that some of us had lag issues. i appreciate your efforts to accommodate everyone. thanks again for giving us some insight to the maps in SC2 was interesting and informative. i would like to say i think your Q&A section is probably what i find most informative. it seems everyone is in that mid to experienced level and the questions can relate to just about everyone. so its good to get some decent answers that we can pond over while we wait for release. also i was thinking since you are getting a lot of new ppl coming in you might want to have a frequently ask question section or maybe a top 10 things to do to improve you SC2. just so ppl can stop asking "do u have a replay pack?" or "where do u come from?" :D lol. thanks dec keep it up.

I think your expecting him to praise when do you good things, and got kind of dissapointed when he only focussed of what you did bad. But I believe he made this commentary do focus on what you could improve, and he really doesn't care that you showed the viewers some good micro. Because to see good micro, and good skills they can watch replays of great players. If you watch Day9 when he does reviews of gold/silver players he kind of gives them as little "respect" and actually goes through them faster than what decemvire did. Regarding Decemviere pausing too much. I dont think its the pausing that is the main problem, but the fact that he somes times pauses for more than a min, just too point out something that I believe is really simple to most of the viewers. E.g. in the Jinro vs Haypro game, he spent a few mins pointing out why jinro made a drop in the back of haypros natural so that his army would get a good concave. Definately a very good point to make, and I belive it is fine that he illustrates it by pausing for some seconds. However there are no needs to talk for so long. Just argue why he does it, then illustrate the effect by pausing for a few secs, and move on. I fully understand that it is not always easy to speach in short sentences in a lanquage which is not your main, but I believe you have to improve in this area, if you want to continue being a succesful caster in the long run.

Thank you for all your feedback, i've already starting to become more fluent with my english and i promise i will pause less aswell. This kind of feedback is crucial and i am very thankful ! I will also be looking into that "FAQ" section that shambles just sugested. It seems like a good idea. You can find all my webcam episodes (exept episode 6 which seems to be broken) over at decemberTV.blip.tv I'm getting SO many views over at BLIP.TV its crazy; the 8th episode featuring Jinro vs Haypro is getting the most hits right now so if you haven't watched that make sure you check it out.
