Italy is back and it will be wonderful to see the clubs in next seasons champions league fast forward, crazy tempo shifts making football look amazing.

I am so sad for Klose... Such a great player like him doesn't deserve to retire without a title... :'( He always works so hard even if he has a bad day.

One amazing thing that I forgot was that wonderful Reus free kick...and Buffon's marvelous stop. The guy is sill a wonderful player eh!!

He was never great. What would have been crazy is him breaking WC goal record - individually hes just not that special.

He is pure proof of what 100% hard work with like no talent can achieve in football. He should be the idol of every non götze child in the world.

I disagree. He may not be as flashy as a Balotelli, or Rooney, or Henry/Benzema, but he is and has always been incredible for the team, even before the 4-2-3-1 required strikers to assist the midfield in creating space and chances. He's still probably the most complete striker playing for the German team, and that's saying something.

You have to admit Italy played really good football. Im glad for Balotelli, he couldnt laugh that much lately.

I just hope we don't end up self-destruction. We played good, and I believe on another day we could have just as well won against Italy. Today however, Italy were the better team and deserved to win. There are some points we need to improve/work on however: -Our corners and free kicks are a joke ever since Löw is our coach (even though he is doing great overall) -Besides the first 2 games, we didn't manage to get our forwards (Gomez/Klose) into play, expecially not their aerial strenghts. -With Klose getting old (maybe he will still play in 2014), Gomez needs to improve further. But more important, we need more options, preferably with different playing style than those two. -I think Özil needs to feel more (any?) pressure for his starting place, maybe by Götze. edit: And while defense has been our main issue this tournament, I feel it is just a question of experience of the players we have. I don't see too much trouble there for the next tournaments.

Everytime Germany plays vs Italy it's as if the stars re-align and everything goes sideways. Italy who wasn't able to hit an empty goal all tournament long suddenly score 2 goals with 2 chances. Germany who has always been effective in front of the goal just can't get the ball in. All the cards go to the Italian team, but always when it matters the referee makes wrong/strange/incomprehensible decisions in favor of the Azurri.
Except for hardliners who go by the motto "the team that wins deservers to win" I don't think anyone honestly believes that Italy deserved this win. Unbelievable........... Germany hasn't been incredibly effective in front of the goal all tournament. Yea, we scored a hell of a lot of goals, but that's because we've had a massive amount of opportunities. Our conversion percentage is actually pretty low. It was still like 3x as high as Italy's. Before today's game Germany had 60 chances and 9 goals, while Italy had 87 chances and 4 goals. Not to mention Germany played against higher class opponents(except Spain), especially in terms of avoiding goals.
Are you crazy? Germany didn't get crushed to the extent of 2008 finals, but they were dominated throughout. Not even close lol

Italy deservedly won, congrats.
Germany was just too weak defensively to win a major tournament like that. Strong teams will punish the defensive lapses which happened again and again.

Germany is too bad , Italy will be a good opponent for the SPAINPOWERHOUSE (Ofc they will defense with 10 guys .....♥)

Pretty much none of the corners were threatening, and Italy by rights could have added another 1 or 2 goals to their tally.

Regarding your last point, why? I am one of those players who feel Özil doesn't play full strength outside tournaments for Germany and maybe is a bit of a diva.
But 2010, 2012 he always plays as good as he can on that day. He moves a lot, goes all the way back to get the ball. He is perfect for Germany.
Losing Klose will hurt Germany so much. So, so, so much. Ozil plays worse with Klose than with Gomez, thats a fact. Also there is no big striker coming behind in Germany.

What a big confusion around my house.. a lot of people are celebrating this win (but I want to sleep :/)
Anyway, GG Germany, the best team of the tournament but too contract tonight.

Only one yellow card for Germany lol. In such an important game you have to take risks. I mean not playing unfair but you have to give everything even if it means that you get a yellow. Germany will never win anything with this mentality, this coach and this players. You could see from the effort of the Real Players (Özil, Khedira) that they have learned the right mindset in Madrid. Winning is everything - a second place is not acceptable. Everyone now is like: ooh yeah we played such a nice tourney blabla. Group Phase Champion wont win you anything. This mentality wont win you anything. Thats the reason we lost today and also the reason we would have lost against Spain. We have little girls on the field. Players like Balotelli who rip of their shirt after a Goal. THIS is the mindset you need. Not this perfectly shaped little Justin Biebers.

Such an awesome game! Made up for the bad taste from yesterday's Portugal vs Spain.
Germany had a lot of great chances, but failed to take advantage. Congrats to Italy! They really deserved it.
