If either Germany or Italy end up as champions, they'll have to go through hell to get there. Germany has to beat two teams that have handed them many of their most historic defeats, and Italy has to beat the two consensus best teams in the tournament.

Sadly I'm not optimistic about our chances at a repeat performance, as this Germany team is stronger and we don't have the legendary defense we had back then. Anything can happen and when it comes to rivalries of this level you should never feel too comfortable as the favorite. Please dont remind me of 2006, the horror I still remember that tournament Fabio Canavaro was the MVP for me even as a german. I just couldnt believe how such a small defender and barely taller than me little asian man ( im 170cm) could win every heading duel and was the center of that impenetrable wall. Sick Play. Please dont let me shed the same tears tonight like 6 years ago ![]() Anyways Lets Go Germany!

Don't remind me, a guy like Cannavaro has a Golden Ball after winning WC but a guy like Iniesta or Xavi doesn't after doing the same. You check the list and you see Messi, and everything is fine, but that particular year should have been awarded to Iniesta IMO. Go Italy! Appreciate our Non-biscotto and get to final!

Beautiful football has to prevail. To me Italy symbolizes everything that's wrong with football these days, not to mention they have to pay for inventing the ever ugly 'Catenaccio' more accurately described in my opinion as 'anti-football'.

Germany and beautiful football cannot go in the same sentence. EVER. Say strength, effectiveness, whatever. But Germany's football has never been beautiful and it's not now either.

Where is the new generation of Italy creative midfielders? These kind of players are scarce nowadays.

What I also know is that to many people Spain's so called 'beautiful' play is in fact not beautiful at all. It's disgusting to see 10 people pass the ball to each other for 90 minutes without ANY drive towards the goal. And that's also what's going to cost Spain a game eventually imho. It was already close against Italy and Portugal. As you can see, people have different opinions and different understandings of what is beautiful and what isn't. You might just have to accept that at some point in your life.
