The 2006 semifinal was the sweetest victory I've ever had the joy of witnessing as a fan of Italian soccer, even more so than the final. Sadly I'm not optimistic about our chances at a repeat performance, as this Germany team is stronger and we don't have the legendary defense we had back then. Anything can happen and when it comes to rivalries of this level you should never feel too comfortable as the favorite.

If either Germany or Italy end up as champions, they'll have to go through hell to get there. Germany has to beat two teams that have handed them many of their most historic defeats, and Italy has to beat the two consensus best teams in the tournament.

Please dont remind me of 2006, the horror I still remember that tournament Fabio Canavaro was the MVP for me even as a german. I just couldnt believe how such a small defender and barely taller than me little asian man ( im 170cm) could win every heading duel and was the center of that impenetrable wall. Sick Play.

Please dont let me shed the same tears tonight like 6 years ago ( 2008 and 2010 too^^ but 2006 was especially bitter because it was in GERMANY)

Don't remind me, a guy like Cannavaro has a Golden Ball after winning WC but a guy like Iniesta or Xavi doesn't after doing the same. You check the list and you see Messi, and everything is fine, but that particular year should have been awarded to Iniesta IMO.

Go Italy! Appreciate our Non-biscotto and get to final!

Germany always had problems against Italy.. we will see if Italia has what it takes tonight to take it down! Even if Germany is favorite unlike usually...

If Italy goes through, we will make sure we send Pirlo into retirement .

Cannot believe how good this guy is, but also cannot believe how Italy hasn't found someone to take his place after all this time. Where is the new generation of Italy creative midfielders? These kind of players are scarce nowadays.

Well Mr. Spaniard, in your not so humble opinion that might be the case. I know lots of people including myself who disagree. What I also know is that to many people Spain's so called 'beautiful' play is in fact not beautiful at all. It's disgusting to see 10 people pass the ball to each other for 90 minutes without ANY drive towards the goal. And that's also what's going to cost Spain a game eventually imho. It was already close against Italy and Portugal.

As you can see, people have different opinions and different understandings of what is beautiful and what isn't. You might just have to accept that at some point in your life.

You dont need to get the title to play beautiful football. As was shown yesterday, spain-portugal was so painful to watch that i rather played LoL instead.
