At that stage Germany had 7 points, how were they supposed to go home?

Thank you for spotting that. I had it confused, it was if Denmark scored they would be going out.

They didn't deserve to get out of the group anyway, so the sooner they're gone from the cup, the better. I agree with your Quarter Finals picks, the score can be capricious as shown in the group stages thought. Pretty weird Euro anyway.... so many upsets, surprises and generally subpar play from favourite/strong teams.
You dont know what you are talking about. Forgot about the penalty that wasn't given in the Russia v Greece match? It could have been Greece 2 Russia 0 easily as well as Greece 2 Poland 1, had the penalty not have been missed. Not to mention the countless of misshits for Russia and Poland. 10 player Greece and they cant win in their own ground? Really Poland??

Spain will win this whole championship

They won't.

Indeed. They are just so lucky to have xaviniesta playing in the same era that it's op.

Couldnt say it better.

I'm hoping Czech Republic scores early.... Portugal only actually starts playing football when the other teams score first.

Could you make this less of a wall of text maybe a Space inbetween each group match say like Ukraine v Sweden then press enter twice then France v England. Its pretty hard to read.
|
good write up! I enjoyed it, hope there is another one for the semis! I read every one bit of it, kinda surprising but agai enjoyed it! Especially for a guy who did not get the chance to watch every game.

Sick write up. I was so shocked to see us go through top of the group, but we certainly had our fair share of good fortune. So far its been a great tournament, great atmosphere and all this media bullshit about racism hasn't surfaced (what a suprise /rolleyes).
I think we have a chance against Italy, we just need to piss of Balloteli and make him do something stupid. And thats coming from a City fan :D
Btw - Spain are amazing, no one can deny that, but they are just obsessed with walking the ball into the net. If they face a team with a good defence, they could be punished.
Btw 2 - that Xavi picture lol. Too sick.

Ok, a question to all the English folk on the forums. How do we beat Italy? Rooney looked shaky (understatement), Ashley Young just doesn't deliver consistently, Milner is the same but we need him to cover our defense etc. I think its telling that our best player has been the mighty Stevie G! How do you think we should play?

As a not very informed and more casual german fan, I feel like Gomez just scores and doesn't add anything else for the Teamplay. My German keyplayer is definetly Mats Hummels, he defends amazing and his passes (right english Term) are really good. Also I'm a fan of BVB

I really think Germany will take this. You look so sick in every position. Ozil is my favoruite German player, closely followed by 'the mountain' (to borrow a game of thrones term ) Neuer. I know he's not huge but he's super imposing! I think you'll do very well.
Edit - my one thousandth post is me extolling the virtues of the German football team. I certainly didn't expect that when I signed up!

Italy vs England is probably the most even matchup in this round. England may very well win this, too.

You're welcome =)
Very nice write up. Also, if any of you guys can't watch the games live, you can catch the replays on espn3.
