Greece vs England finals would be REALLY FUNNY.

I dont think Greece and England can be in the final, they are on the same side of the bracket if I remember correctly.
Let's fly!

the best bit is that even if the goal had been allowed, england still would of finished top and france still would of come second because head to head and goal difference.

This is silly to think like.

There's a major difference of momentum and attitude when you tie a game compared to when you are down 0-1, know you need two to move on and saw your team robbed of a goal.

knowing they needed a win didnt exactly spur ukraine into taking the lead in the first place

That second goal made me really fucking angry. If I was on that stadium, I'd beat the shit out of somebody. That's why I don't go to such events. Ukraine still showed a good game, pity they couldn't get another one in.

Ukraine played really well. In the first half, England was non-existent. I was really impressed by the Ukrainians, especially Konopielka ( sorry if I miss spelled his name). It's too bad that the side referee didn't see that goal for Ukraine, it would be a game changing moment. On the side note, it was probably the last game for Shevcheko - one of my favorite strikers of all time.

I was really impressed by Yarmolenko, he was one of the clear play-makers for the Ukrainian team. Hopefully he lands somewhere good.

Why is there even any argument about Ukraine's 'goal'? So clearly offside that there can't even be a debate.

Offside.

Always the same story. Soccer needs to finally use technology from the 21 century. So annoying...

Are you really from Germany and called it Soccer? I'm ashamed!
And we only need cameras to check if it's a goal or not. But please nothing more. No video review like NFL or something.

Really a shame for the Ukraine, they played better imo.

Oh well, England is 2012's Greece I guess

I'm trying so hard to enjoy football, but the poor decisions really kill it for me.

If the ref wants it, quick replay from '5th' official, yes or no, 10-20 seconds max.

How has this not been implemented yet...

replay for everything would change the hole sport, i can understand they are not realy considering this.

but puting two more man on the side which can make the same human mistakes then the other 3 ref already on the pitch - that makes no sense at all, get the goal camera, only for goal or not decisions - thats realy easy to do but those oldtimers at uefa/fifa wont do anything.

We can hope they see now that their way to overcome ger-eng from 2010 didnt work and they will get the damn camera.

Jesus christ, you'd beat someone up over a football game? Really? Hell, over a goal that was scored after a clear offside?

You really struggle to live up to your username by the sounds of it.

the whole argument against replay refs is that it will ruin the flow of the game because of the 1 min delay. but at the moment players spend so long arguing with the ref about every call that it would actually speed things up

It wouldnt ruin the flow it would stop bullshit decisions. It takes maybe 30 secs to watch a clip and be like oh that was offside/was a goal etc then allow it. It would make the game flow quicker as how many games have been destroyed by blatently wrong calls. It takes next to no time to get a replay up and on the big screen the ref could use that to view it. Failing that have a system where they do in rugby where it goes to a different official off field to view the video. Football is one of the only sports that doesnt use technology to aide officials. It has to change asap.

On the game though, England did alright, Ukraine i think looked the most dangerous team even more so than France did agaisnt them. The "stolen goal" wasn't stolen since he was offside when the ball was played so it shouldn't have even got that far. though that sucks for Ukraine.
On the France game Sweden outclassed them all game long. They were so much better at going for it as they had nothing to loose. France just looked bad for so long.

It should be done just like in the cricket for an LBW call. It takes like 20-30 seconds the crowd get to see the replay on the screen so they can talk about it too and the right call will be reached. It wouldn't disrupt the game any more than a substitution.

Goal line technology and the current system of having a guy stand there are just not needed. Just go watch the replay and then make the right decision.

But instead of just having goal line tech why not have all the calls that are disputed go over to another official, that way it can come up on the screen while the official looks at as they do in rugby. If its all done from video there would be less officials need on the pitch (were up to 5 now and their are still wrong calls so often). maybe two guys at a tv screen radio down. Would take less time than a sub and even now big decisions interupt the game since theres so much arguing. It may stop some really bad tackles if its immeadiately shown on the big screen in the venue for everyone too see.
