But yeah, we've been pretty poor. As an excuse we can only offer the fact that we're kinda crap and Hodgson has only been manager since May 1st. It's a joke we finish first but we got lucky and worked hard against France and Sweden. Still maintain if everyone was doing their jobs correctly that still wouldn't be a goal because of the offside, but hey...

I don't understand how we can defend so well vs. France and then so badly vs. Sweden and Ukraine. It's as if the players get really lax against supposed "weaker" opposition. When we got the ball down and played it (happened occasionally) we looked okay, at least. Signs that the players are getting more used to this style of football. Even Gerrard managed not to hit too many long balls forwards.
