(ex-)EG killing esports yet again. how dare somebody inform their fans about why they retire. esports needs a secret service that hides retirements, so the masses don't get upset or start to think the game is in a bad state. granted, idra AND machine retiring makes it hard to use one as a double for the other. i was about to make a racist joke here, then figured it was a bad idea.

I agree, you don't need to explain yourself to fools. It just shifts the burden of proof to you. A simple "shape the fuck up. Why would you think that is ok?" Gets the job done.

I disagree. There is no harm in being nice to people, even when you're banning them. If anything you're reaffirming that TL is a site where the moderators are nice people who care.
I like being here because people are nice, friendly.

Hey > all the people I've gotten to know are nice. Except like one person. But yeah most of them are from irc. But I have met since lovely people on the forums and in teamspeak too.
The staff I know are pretty nice. And all the regular lp irc people. So NICE.
Anyway i don't really understand people who get butthurt on the internet and flame others or cause conflicts for no reason. What possesses someone to post something so awful and ban wprthy? I'm probably too naive, but I just don't understand such extreme anger.

When I temp ban someone, it's because I hope they can come back as a reformed poster. Saying 'fuck off' communicates nothing about why I am banning them, and only serves to antagonise them.
If I am perming someone then it would be because I've lost all hope and I might be a lot more liberal/lazy with my reasons, but I will probably still explain myself out of habit.

Reason: Previously banned user.
Knew it as soon as he got his second post, he was posting only in different fan clubs at first (why I got suspicious... who does that), asking to sign up with the same decorated post with different player names substituted in, but then he moved on to everywhere on TL at once... and what sort of normal user would do that?
