Hearthstone We have noticed that there’s quite a growing Hearthstone community here on TL, and saw that a lot of people tuned in to watch the HS Invitational at Blizzcon. With the game “soon” to enter open beta, and there having already been a few competitions with cash prizes, and even more are popping up each week it seems, it looks like the game has the beginnings of a healthy competitive scene. And that’s the kind of game Liquipedia is a perfect fit for covering and we’ve decided that we want to make a wiki for Hearthstone.
However a wiki needs contributors, so we’re curious: how many of you would be interested in helping us out making the best HS wiki out there?
For the HS wiki, our initial plan is to cover all of the game mechanics with cards, definitions, abilities, etc., and also track the competitive scene with tournament pages, player pages, and eventual team pages. We know that that’s quite a large amount of content but many hands make light work!
Heroes of the Storm Heroes of the Storm gained some interested during Blizzcon and we are wondering if there’s any people in the community who would like to help set up a wiki for it?
Liquipedia is probably most known and renowned for our coverage of the competitive scenes in the three games we currently cover. While it’s still unclear if Heroes will have a competitive scene, we would like to be on top of this from the beginning. There seems to be a healthy interest in the game in our community and we're looking for people that would like to help out with developing our wiki.
The initial content we’d add would be things like hero pages, their upgrade paths and the different game modes. The amount of information publicly available at this stage is not that huge, which means the workload would be quite small and the group of people needed to actually set up a wiki would be equally small. We can assume that the game will grow with more game modes and potentially more heroes after release, but to have the basics already in place will help a lot for when that happens.
I want to help Great! Editing a wiki is actually really simple. Most text formatting can be done with the toolbar above the editing window. There are a few templates you might want to use but they’re pretty straight forward too. And when you do want help with anything we already have a pretty big and friendly community of editors who would be glad to help you with anything wiki-related.
To start, just post in this thread and let me know for what game you’re interested in helping out. I will then contact you individually and probably give you access to the Liquipedia Contributor forum where we can coordinate and discuss the project(s).

The problem is that so speak so bad english that I can't write almost nothing :D
|
I do not have the time myself to contribute to these games but I'm looking forward to see the end result of this! To contribute is really awesome in itself and I thank everyone in advance who will be the ones working on it! Good luck! <3

I get the interest in a hearthstone wiki, it seems to be taking off nicely. But Heroes of the Storm - with the dearth of information out there, this seems like premature fanboyism for Blizzard.
|
Get me a beta key for these games and I will be your slave 'till the end of time Salle, for editing LP or whatever else.
|
Willing to help out with Heroes of the Storm or anything that Liquid requires assistance in
|
Would be interested in contributing to the hearthstone wiki, tournaments specifically.
|
Times a bit short... But I'm willing to contribute to Hearthstone wiki. You all have created and written up so much stuff I love to read and learn from. I've always wanted a way to give a helping hand and this seems a way I actually have enough time for.
|
Yay hearthstone I can help.....maybe-ish?

Cause we probably will hand out some keys to people who make good contributions to the hearthstone. (And Heroes if we can get our hands on some keys for it)

I fully agree, no sense in making a HotS wiki when nobody can even play the game, and it might never pick up a strong competitive scene. I thought liquipedia was more about competitive gaming than anything else, and from what I heard of HotS it seams pretty much lacking as a competitive game, its more of a casual play with friends for fun type of game. Plus there are tons of competitive games not covered by liquipedia and so it pretty much smells like they are just puting it there becouse Blizzard made it. Might as well make a WoW wiki while your at it.
As for HearthStone its seams like the people that have access to it are enjoying it quite a lot and the game is competitive by nature (just like the game that inspired it, Magic the Gathering). I play MtG for some 18 years already, and would love to try out HS, and could possibily contribute to the wiki, but I have no idea when I gonna get a key, if ever. Maybe I will only get to play it once its released for the general public.
|
I'd be more than happy to help out with the Hearthstone wiki, in particular the game mechanics/definitions/abilities since I don't follow the tournament scene as much but I do play a huge amount of arena (so I'm quite clued in on eg. specific interactions between mechanics).
|
I would help in both games, I would write nights long only for the sake of the games, but I don´t have a beta key for HS. And in edition I don´t even know how to program, so I guess I´m not needed here^^ Fell free to PM if you need any help, really any help

I would love to help with the hearthstone wiki. Need to pay back the TL community some way for all my lurking over the years.

I tried to do some for Dota 2 a couple of months ago before I got busy, but now I have more downtime. I'd like either Hearthstone or Heroes of the Storm. Leaning more towards Hearthstone, however as I'm more a fan of tcg/ccg.

While I agree that it seems like it won't be a competitive title, Liquipedia is a games wiki for the TL community. We're asking this now since it's the beginning of the game if there's interest. So it's not set in stone, but I really fail to see how adding this wiki would detract from the other ones. What we've seen from both adding SC2 and Dota 2 wikis is that new contributors, new ideas, and new formats drives new innovative solutions that can then be used on the other wikis. And since the wikis share so much in common it's usually easy to apply a new template or format over to the others as well.

I could definitely help with Hearthstone. Can't say I'm that good at the game, but if you need a body filling in card text, I'm ready and willing.
|
Hello. Been a long, long time lurker since my original account was lost in the mist of time (three years ago to be exact) and I've never made a new account simply because I thought there was nothing useful for me to say or to contribute. But this time all the hours I've put into my friend's Hearthstone-account could actually pay off :D
So, simply put, I have a degree in English language so I think the quality of content I can produce is adequate and I would definitely like to work on the Hearthstone-side of the wiki. I would also like to help to modernize the build orders in the SC2-section but that's another story.

Yes, you don't need to be in the game for all types of editing that we need on the wiki. Obviously the more basic card stuff you can leave to people who do have a key. But there's a lot of other things besides that that needs to be done. A good overview page for the game in general. Information about the different gamemodes, definitions of common terms, making lists of all the cards with a certain ability, etc etc etc.

I am interested in "heroes of the Storm" but i guess since they (Blizzard) agreed on a "core gamplay" but not on the maps (they should play very differently) and the Heroes (18 atm, already more in the "shops" ) it wont be good to make a wiki before the Closed Beta hits at least every region. I think until than a simple "thread" with all the known details can be made.

Even if the amount of information is sparse. A wiki will allow for a much easier time when it comes to adding in new information too, since anyone can add it to any article, unlike on a forum where access to edit posts are limited to the creator of the post and TL moderators.

I would like to contribute to Hearthstone I am playing it myself and i really want to help teamliquid :D

Would love to help out with the HearthStone wiki. To good of a game to not help.

Count me in for the Hearthstone one.

Keen to help out on both!

I could lend a hand for either game, since I'm always interested in Blizzard games. I've never contributed in liquipedia before, though.

But like I said, if there's enough people who want to do it, we'd obviously help to facilitate that.

Another factor to consider is to what degree other wikis are already up and going. If Heroes does indeed turn out to be a game that Liquipedia would have wanted to cover, but there was another wiki out there that already filled that role, it's very, very hard to catch up to a well-established wiki like that. Imagine if LP were to start a LoL wiki now, and the amount of work that needed to be put into it in order to even try to compete with leaguepedia... Even now, in Closed Beta, there are other wikis out there for Hearthstone that cover the game mechanics of Hearthstone pretty comprehensively. However, if Liquipedia manages to surpass those wikis and become the wiki for Hearthstone, I truly believe that it will be more awesome than those other wikis, because all those other wikis don't follow the game as an eSport the same way LP does. And the same goes for Heroes; there's a window of opportunity and that window isn't going to stay open forever. I think it's worse to miss that window and come to regret it than wasting hours on a project that ultimately turns out to cater only to casuals. And even then, it may be a really good wiki for casuals that draw a lot of people to TL and LP. Needless to say, I think giving a Heroes wiki a shot is the right move.

Agreed, especially when they have stated that the focus of the Heroes development will not be geared toward competitive play.

I can do both Hearthstone and HoTS, I only have a key for Hearthstone though.
|
the sc wiki is akward, just akward - at least for the strategy part. Same faith will come to the other wikis
|
I would like to contribute to the HS wiki (and the Starcraft too) but the problem is that I don't know how to edit a page! lol Is is in the "view source thing"?
|
For sure! Hit me up
Edit: Either game. I will play both to the max. I currently have Hearthstone.
|
I'm interested in updating both wikis, provided I get a beta key for Heroes of the Storm too (if I don't, I can just help contribute towards a Hearthstone wiki)
The parts I feel I can update are:
- Card stats, rankings and reflective thoughts on value (ideally ones backed up by a high ranked competitive gamer in some source.)
- Class strengths/weaknesses. This one would be more straightforward, i.e. Priest has very strong removal via
- Bracket results. Provided there is a way to publically find said bracket results.
- Pro-gamer profiles. I promise for those also involved with SC2, I won't just copy and paste the SC2 liquipedia profile and call it a job well done.
By the way, why haven't TL branched out wiki-wise into League of Legends yet? I think there are a lot more interested LoL players than interested Hearthstone players, plus I noticed a few months ago that http://wiki.teamliquid.net/lol/ leads to a 403 forbidden message anyway.

The problem with the starcraft2 wiki is that players below high Master League are generally believed to have bad balance opinions or little understanding on the strengths and weaknesses of a build order. Likewise, many pros and semi-pros with said knowledge feel no obligation to update the wiki on strategies.
I'd be willing to update info on build orders and revolutionize the wiki and include replay evidence but... I am not high league enough to even remotely be taken seriously.

I would try myself as a Heart Heroes of the Storm contributor

I would love to help out with Hearthstone, as it is quickly becoming a game that I am investing in!

I will probably help as much as I can with details on the new wikis. Also, I would like to finally get editor status on the Dota 2 wiki

Looking forward to the deck construction sections/strategy!

I'd love to contribute to the Hearthstone liquipedia, but presently I am unable to, I am currently in the process of trying to acquire a key though.
|
i would love to help out with heartstone!
|
I'd be interested. It's been a long while since i've made any decent contributions to the LPnet, this would be a good way to reintegrate myself. it'd be fun if i could add trivia about the art on some of the cards, because not all of the art was specifically from the old TCG, or if it was from the TCG sometimes it was a completely different card. I'd have a lot of fun filling in artist credits too i think (i remember pre-wipe there was an error on the artist credit for avenging wrath that i submitted the bug report for lol).
|
I would love to help out on the wiki, especially on heroes, it really seems interesting. I haven't really gotten into hearthstone yet but I expect I will once it goes into open beta.

I'd be up for heroes of the storm
|
Hi I'm willing to do some work on the Hearthstone wiki. I'm 3 star masters and have been in the beta since late September.
|
I would be willing to help out with the Hearthstone liquipedia; I know nothing about heroes of the storm, so can't provide any benefit there

While it would nice to have good wikis for HS and HotS, I don't know how complete and up-to-date they will be when we consider the current state of the SC2 wiki. There was A LOT of initial effort to make it a good SC2 wiki, but much content is either outdated or quite terse.
|
I would totally help out on the wiki for HotS provided I can play the game. But you can only do so much without a beta key.
|
I'm down with helping the Heroes of the Storm wiki.
|
I'm willing to help out with either Wikis, wherever I'd be needed more.

That's nice and interesting, and it makes me wonder why isn't there a League Of Legend wiki already.
I mean, TL has a strong LoL community, it even has well formatted articles like those for SC2/DotA2. LoL isn't an "official" TL game, so isn't featured on the main website, but could very well have its own wiki in the same way those games will have one (not an official TL game, but a game with a strong TL community).

I'm in for both, and I played a good amount of Heroes at BlizzCon.

Just signed up on TL after reading this post! :D
Would like to help out at the Heroes-Wiki as I have read and watched about every tidbit
I'd endjoy compelling articles about the different Realms and Heroes (both revealed, in the making, revealed in an earlier version (Blizz DotA or All Stars) or even speculated). Of the latter I'd like to write about Concept (intended Gameplay value), revealed Skills and Lore background.
|
i could potentially help out with hearthstone
|
I'd love to do some work on the HS Wiki. I've been looking for writing and editing related jobs to fill some spare time, and with HS on the horizon this sounds perfect!
I don't have beta access unfortunately (Blizzard doesn't like giving me beta keys), but I've played the game a couple times and I watch streams and YouTube videos frequently on the game.

I would be willing to help with Heroes of the Storm wiki
|
I find it strange that Heroes of the Storm and Heart of the Swarm are both HOTS, did blizzard think through this?

PM me and set me up for the wiki please! I have an account and play it quite frequently [currently streaming it from desktop to my tablet until the official tablet app is released XD] I'd be more than willing to update/maintain a wiki for this game.

I can help out for Hearthstone, have played it quite a bit.
|
Hey, I'd be interested in helping out on the Hearthstone wiki, though I'm not very knowledgable about the tournament scene
|
I would be very interested in helping out the Hearthstone portion of the wiki, and I'd most like to work on the general information sections (mechanics, definitions, etc.). In the future, I might also enjoy writing for the e-sports sections, but as it stands right now I'd much prefer to focus on one area.
A little bit about myself:
Bit of a TL lurker; I visit the site regularly but haven't yet (until now) felt the irresistible urge to post.
I've been in the Hearthstone beta for over a month now, and have extensive playtime and experience (if rank actually meant something, I'd feel more of a need to include that I'm masters in both) in both Arena and Constructed. I'm currently in the process of developing a few constructed decks for open competitive tournaments, and I look forward to see how the community for Hearthstone evolves. Thanks!
|
I would be willing to help to you guys. I have already gained some exp. in editing stuff for Starcraft 2 and i know how things work out there. Also i would have enough time to actually help with things which need more time. I would really like to help in Hearstone as main and in Heros of the Storm, if needed.

I'm in the HS beta so sure, I'll help out
|
I am actually very interested in editing the Hearthstone wiki. I've only been playing the game for a week now but I would like to spend more free time on the community and liquipedia if possible.
A little about myself;
I have been following Team Liquid for quite some time but didn't get around posting a lot, only reading. But by reading this post it gives me an opportunity to get more involved with the community.
For writing; I would love to write about the tournaments and game mechanics, I've been watching streams for a long time and I think I'm able to contribute a bunch.
For Heroes of the Storm; I did watch the Blizzcon press congress about it and the game seems interesting, I'm willing to help out here aswell. The game seems fun and I would see myself playing it and such.
Kind regards
|
I'd be interested in participating for both games. I've mostly been a lurker, so this is a good opportunity to contribute a bit. I've been in the Hearthstone beta for a few weeks, although I've followed some of the competitions and streams for longer.
