Promoting in schools is a good idea. Heck, in my class of 25 people, 5 play starcraft, and 2 follow it otherwise. GOGOGO, find all yer friends in UNI/Lukio/amis. I was giving a lecture in my Finnish university on evolution (of microbes) few months ago and used Korean progamers, Zergs and Hydralisks as example organisms/communities. I saw quite many of the guys start whispering to each other afterwards, so I believe starcrafters may be more common among students than we even know. Just put out some initiatives on establishing local Starcraft groups or something. Given Finnish drinking habits, expanding those groups into Barcraft events should not be hard. I'd be happy to join any event myself if the timing and location are convenient. Good luck, hopefully lots of people will show up. | ||

Just put out some initiatives on establishing local Starcraft groups or something. Actually there is a gaming club in University of Helsinki. We met around 10 times this autumn and played mostly HoN and Starcraft II, but we also met for drinks / go to eat and talk about games and esports. At the moment around 10-15 different people attended the events, simultaneously 3-8, so next spring we try to get people even more active. | ||
