Why would they do that? It makes no sense to me. O.o
I personally prefer sticking with the same way as opposed to changing to a way I've never actually seen before. (Big? What?)
This way allows users customization and for you to change it to the exact size you need.
Not to mention that you're the first person I've ever seen bring this up.
