The movies are not really compareable (Twilight is so much worse, while the Potter movies were pretty acceptable), but i for one enjoyed reading both sagas.

Harry potter I grew up with ; the writing grated on me as i grew older, but the storyline/character development read to me like other childhood series books (narnia strikes me as younger with more messages, but it's the most similar comparison i can think of off the top of my head).

Psh, yes I am for real. A lot of people who hate on Twilight, the MAJORITY of them are just uninformed idiots who want to jump on the "everyone bashes Twilight" bandwagon. They've never read the books and only judge based on the crappy movies. "LOL! VAMPIRES AND WEREWOLVES AND HUMANS FALLING IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER?!?! GAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!" Seriously? It's called fiction for a reason.... Have a sense of imagination... I don't think Stephenie Meyer is that bad of an author. Seeing as how I was a teenager when I read the series and Twilight was centered around a teenage audience, yes, I did like her books. I'm completely okay with people hating on Stephenie Meyer and her books if they've legit read through them all and they genuinely don't like her writing style. If they've actually given her books a chance, and then form their opinions afterwards, I don't complain nor do I challenge their views. But if all they're going to do is quote a couple of lines from the books that make the books sound gay, or bash on the movies or the actors/actresses, then those guys have absolutely no leverage behind their arguments whatsoever. They think they're being "cool" cause they hate Twilight, just like everyone else. As for Harry Potter, my brother and I absolutely love the HP series. HP was the definition of our childhood. And J.K. Rowling is one damn good author in my opinion.
