Welcome to the Girls of StarCraft thread, where SC2 girls can come together and get introduced to the members of Team Liquid. This way we can connect and get together to practice or even form girl teams!
I think we should also recognize all girls who have contributed to ESports in their own way so here goes:
I am well aware that this list does not include all SC2 girls, teams and tournaments out there but I do not want to put anyone in the spotlight who doesn't want to so please manifest yourself and I will surely add you to the list! Which means please stop posting every single girl's username, I would rather have them PM me or post here so I can add them and their stream + we don't want to make this into a neverending list of usernames so I only wrote down the GMs, Masters, casters and streamers.
Kind of lame to see that Scarlett is GM but slayers picked up Eve so much lower. If you're looking for female talent how do you ignore t he GM??? I'm deducing that she must not be the most attractive but who cares.

GM on what server?
I believe GM on NA is considered < Masters KR.
Yeah I know but t hat's still a lot better than Eve being at.. plat or diamond I think?

So to be considered GM for Korea, she'd have to be higher than GM on NA?
this is the creepiest thread i ever seen. if the girls know and are ok with being mentioned in original post then thats fine but yea really creepy. remind me of artosis filming that gamer chick from far away for ages and ages hahaha.

LOLL ya, we have a group in skype and we're all aware of this.
i dont understand these girl threads if girls want 2 be treated as equals which they are in my opinion then they shouldnt make threads such as these to isolate themselves. I do hope to see slayers eve play sometimes when she gets improvement
we have our own facebook group and know each other on skype. See this as sort of clan/community thing. We took the list of streamers off of our facebook page, so that's why megumixbear isnt there. I'll see if the op will add her soon =)

Dude, back off. We're just introducing ourselves to the TL community, not many people even think girls exist on the internet. We're simply introducing ourselves, we're not trying to be the whole center of attention in e-sports...

i didnt know there were girl's in Grandmasters. Honestly the discussion of gender equality and people being upset about girls getting attention has been done to death. Enjoy what this thread is here for. Some nice streams and drawing attention to active female members of the community.
as you girls are happily introducing yourselves does this mean we can play starcraft with you im more interested to play with the gold or below players as im gold unless any higher want to help me improve(fell like im playing like a silver atm havent played for months very rusty)

Since when does Grandmasters == Internet though? I'm not upset to be honest, but I just found that one line to be pretty far fetched. It's not like we're at the dawn of online gaming and girls playing video games in general and online is some mystical rumor.
I will say that I am genuinely interested in what each of the people listed in the OP have done/contributed to e-sports.

lol obviously it was an exaggeration. You dont need to nitpick.
As for what each of these girls have done for eSports/starcraft:
Kellymilkies - GSL caster and interviewer at IEM - featured TL streamer Suna - ESL caster Aurora, Flo and Navi - female ESL winners. Flo is also a competitor at MLG and got to ro5 femFxKaren - founded an all female team. Their site is http://fem-fx.com Hazelynut - competes in the female ESL cups Cheekyduck - organizes tourneys with cash prizes
This is half the girls on that list.
The point of this thread is draw attention to a developing community. These girls are important to that community which is a sub-community of the SC2/esports scene. That's why it matters. It's to allow people to shine who otherwise would be buried in how busy this scene is getting. This way if you see one of them streaming, you'll be more likely to check them out.
I will update the thread but I don't know if I should add girls without having their approval first :S Also, I will progressively switch all those links to the Team Liquid threads, I think it would be better off that way.
Well, women for some odd reason have my attention. And seemingly it got yours as well.
I know this happened in Eve-online, and it gave them a sense of unity within the community, which I think is a good thing. I suspect women often times feel alienated in the gaming communities. After thousands of years most men don't fully understand women and vice versa, and it is quite nice to have some you can relate to and identify with.

Ya that thread was a train wreck. The way she talked to the guy was almost comedy if she wasn't being serious the entire time. Definitely not a person you want your community to associate with. Complete trash.
Edit: Not to mention her ranking is completely fake. She tricked some guy in to playing on her account constantly until she became GM. She probably only plays enough to not be dropped out of GM by default, if she is even GM anymore. Who knows maybe she tricked another guy in to playing her account now with some e-dating special tactics.

We are a community that support each other. Nothing more nothing less, yes we are a minority and we love to come together discuss and find more girls out there. Now as for certain people we added everyone we knew and they took the liberty of leaving which is perfectly fine. We only have the cool chicks anyway. Also if any girls want to join us please feel free as stated in Gen's post below.
I don't understand what the fuss is about but we are trying to encourage girls to play this game and we're helping each other out.
Well, I support females playing for sure -- I have some female friends that play this game and I wish more would (Tried getting my girlfriend into it, but she likes to spectate with me rather than play it seems)

okay for all seriousness..... Chiiiillll, even SCDPride said that it was BS, and what also doesn't make sense is how the dude got the chat anyways, the guy is probably some troll. Kalu is a real GM, i remember watching InControl's stream and he played Kalu, and that was a while back in S2. So, to whoever says that she is some fake GM, please, scream and shout in your own little corner, we don't want to hear it.
I guess I missed Pride admitting he made it up. That would be one huge troll. What about when Catz was supposedly playing her and her hotkeys/mechanics were 100% different? Got a link or anything? I am slightly interested.

The chat logs weren't even from pride, he doesn't even have a brother LOL. so there's no possible way he could have gotten those chat logs.. The thread wasn't even made by pride. So in conclusion, it's all BS. LOL
I really want to see a female player rise up and compete at the highest level. I think TossGirl has the jump start potential if she switched over for sc2.

This is not about gender equality at all, it's about sc2 gamer girls finding eachother + team spirit.

Why so serious?
This is a thread akin to the gays in starcraft thread, it's a sub group of a small community.
They aren't trying to pass laws and be isolationist, they're creating a loose network of friends of people who more than likely have had similar experiences.
Even if they haven't it's cool for people like me, who are curious about women in SC2, after having seen mention of flo as well as slayers_eve, and are looking for other girls.
On August 26 2011 15:24 Cwall wrote: The pursuit of gender equality will never be taken seriously when people like you purposefully alienate yourself from the other gender like this.
I must agree, to be truthfully honest. In my personal opinion lists like this only makes the two sexes more separated than before. The goal of these types of threads is to increase the growth of the female starcraft and esports community, and to unite it, but overall, it doesn't achieve anything and separates the two sexes, but hey, thats just my opinion :3
Oh for heaven's sake, why do we care so much? How does this alienate or separate? If girls wish to find each other to play games, how else would they go about it except by utilizing the premier SC forum? And do they need the express permission from males to do it, just in case they might be "getting uppity" and "drawing too much attention to themselves"? I, for one, didn't know there were GM female players.

Your ego is to high and the only reason I made the thread saying that it was BS was because I felt bad. The threads were closed because you were at no importance to tl.net nor did people knew who we were. There are solid proof of people laddering and many has touched your account. Apparently there is only 1 girl in NA GM (Scarlett). With the higher skill level of EU/KR, she might be the only one. There is still the SEA server though.
She's a cool practice partner and buddy with some of the people who frequent her stream and the stream cholmesink. My nightmares include her screaming "Y U No Inject?!?" Keep an eye out for her; she's only getting better.
Wtf is all this BS about gender equality 'bout, I'm guessing it's just some guys who thinks it's embarrasing that girls actually play games better than them.
I think it would be AWESOME with more female gamers, so then it will be more acceptable for other "normal" girls to play games aswell. Love the idea of playing games with GF, would be so sick ^^

Well just figured that the OP would want a list of only female gamers? Thought that was the point of this thread.
It's no big secret who she is, and she's actually a respectable part of the Starcraft female gaming community having contributed so much. I'm sure everyone here would respect the personal choices of a person and leave the topic be.
i will say that this isnt meant to be a directory of female players. "Girls of Starcraft" is the name of the community. So when you ask why someone isn't on the list, well that's the reason >.> There's no problem in adding them if they want to be though

First off you mean he. As to the respectable part, that is highly questionable, not because of his life style choice, but because of the content I have seen come from this individual.
My intent was to try and provide accurate information, just going to PM OP about this, no more need for discussion about this.
Seriously, give girls a break... if they wish to gather together in this thread and make a list, it's completelly fine. They don't seem like doing that for mere pointing out they are female for the sake of it, but for the purpose of actually having an idea how many TL women actually play SC2. So don't berate them for making a community topic just because they happen to be women. I mean, we have various communities listed here, from gay SC players to specific regions players. People should seriously stop this crap throwing whenever 'girls' and 'starcraft' are mentioned on the same topic.
Thanks to Zrana for pointing me out there, very nice of you ^^
I dunno. I dunno how I feel about the whole thing. I think it's important for girls to know where to go if they want other girls to play with. However, I don't want any special anythings because of my gender. I don't want people to watch me stream because I'm a girl. I'm not a very good player, you know? I play for funsies and stream to motivate myself to improve further and analyse my games.
When I'm in Masters and sending myself to MLGs, give a shit about me. Until then... *shrug* AIN'T NO THANG.

EVERYONE knows. NO ONE cares. Just leave it alone, you're not helping by alienating the same person again and again. V__V
I'm a pretty big critic of these girl.. blog/gaming announcement/advertisement/whatevers. But I must say the new OP looks a hell of a lot better. I'm not immediately annoyed.
That sounds like it doesn't belong in this thread right? Actually no- I'm saying someone who finds these threads unnecessary now sees a lot more legitimacy in this one.
Now if only frequent tournaments started up with clans performing I wouldn't find it so incredulous that we need to get to know players that rarely win tourneys.

Good luck girls <3
Well just figured that the OP would want a list of only female gamers? Thought that was the point of this thread.
It's no big secret who she is, and she's actually a respectable part of the Starcraft female gaming community having contributed so much. I'm sure everyone here would respect the personal choices of a person and leave the topic be.
same shit that gets said in every girl gamer sc2 thread
Was that too negative? I'm trying to be better about this.
I find it kind of funny that you edited your quote of me to not say what I said.
I sent a PM to Dasakura and Megumixbear but if they do not approve, I will not add them to the list (same goes for all the other girls people are calling out!) Also I won't PM every single girl, they should just come foward and either post or PM me imo!

would like a blizzard mod to investigate if they have the time.
That's a pretty low blow to all those rank 1 masters waiting for a GM.
Blizzard has already investigated, and they only saw one ip address logged into the account. In a previous post I made I showed the emailed I received from blizzard.
It is RootDestiny and FlawlessKalu vs Tokadub and Seven.
If you watch this replay from FlawlessKalus in game camera and honestly think she is a legit GM, then I don't know what to say... her play looked HORRIBLE to me. And I normally wouldn't go out of my way to say this and show this replay. In fact I intentionally didn't say anything up to this point. But it seems she has a bad attitude and is lying so I really don't care anymore.
I think this replay will prove that she is not a real GM.
Mistakes she makes in this game before rage quitting and forcing RootDestiny to try to 2v1:
1) Places supply depot in wrong location so it is not a full wall off. 2) Runs SVCs all the way to barracks outside her ramp when lings get in. A good player would of had the marines run upwards towards the command center rather then scvs towards barracks to avoid losing mining time. 3) Does not micro marines or scvs in any fight. Attempts to stutter fire and misses multiple shots. 4) Attacks up terran ramp and gets fried by hellions without even killing one hellion instead of letting roaches go first. 5) Never completes the wall off even after already lettings lings in before. Lings get in again and she runs the scvs all the way down to the racks for no apparent reason and lets terran roast a ton of scvs from OUTSIDE the wall... 6) Horrible macro, does not constantly produce scvs, and is floating a ton of excess minerals. 7) Quits without GG despite playing with a real grand master RootDestiny who manages to continue the game for another 10+ minutes even without her.
I'm sorry but this looks more like diamond or worst play to me. Maybe it was a bad game. But there is no way a legit GM would play like that.
I honestly don't care at all whether you're a girl, a guy, zealot, zergling, ultralisk, or any other type of life form. I want to see good starcraft, regardless of who it's from. I think for us to truly progress as a gaming community you need to see that ANYONE can play starcraft and be good at it with practice. On the same hand, just because you're a girl, you should NOT get ANY special treatment in games, we should be a community without segregation.
This shock and awe that girls play starcraft at a high level is really old, and this whole proclamation of being a girl and playing starcraft is equally old.
I feel (and I hope I'm not alone here) that there are girls in the starcraft community that have gotten recognition from the community WITHOUT the need for a pedestal like this e.g., Milkies. If you're a bright, talented star you'll shine no matter how many people are around you. You're making their headline attraction in the starcraft community be the fact that they're female, and that makes this whole thing no more childish then the people that go nuts every time they find out that you're a girl and you play video games.

You know, this thread is just about finding eachother and what better place to do so then on TL. The list thingy is just a fun thing to do and I think it would be equally fun to see other similar threads such as region threads so that people can meet up if they want to and I'd also like to see a team thread with a list of good team streams (2s, 3s, 4s). Ranting is childish. If you don't like this thread just don't look at it.

I played kelly before and she isnt masters. She is in diamond league. I switched terran and droped like 20 games, before that i was mid masters. Only after droping to mid diamond I played her. Or maybe its a smurf. But I think it was her.

At work and can't check, but I'm pretty sure she is masters last time I checked. Dunno who you played. But she doesn't play that much so I highly doubt she played enough to get demoted.

Good question - we should watch for performances in TL Opens and other small cups that they might enter. I'm sure there are times they take games and series off signed pro players in small cups and nobody really notices since people only really pay attention to the top ~4-8 or so of them.

There's a page on Liquipedia which tries to answer just that: Female SC2 scene
Your answer seems to be EffkA, who won CraftCup Lite #27. Also, some of the girls managed to make it quite far in the Loser's bracket of various MLG's. For instance, Flo didn't get knocked out until she met White-Ra.

We have made a wiki page to acknowledge all the things the female only group is doing to be a part of the community. We are also trying to still support each other and the growth of E-Sports. So thank you to everyone who has supported our group to this point & if you would like to check out the wiki page, you can do so right here: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/GoSc
It is not done, it is still a work in progress but it is coming out very well.
* How did you get involved in BW/SC2: I got involved into Broodwar because of a guy I liked. Eventually I became an ICCup Admin. from there I was an admin for ICCup for about 2 years at which point I got into SC2 beta where I started doing commentary and hosting tournaments.
* By which team/player/caster? are you most inspired: Team is hard to say, I would probably have to say Team Dignitas. As for a player I would say someone like Moman or Ret. I know both of them and they are wonderful people. As for Caster I would have to say the Plott Brothers. They are just amazing, funny and very smart.
* What would you ultimately like to see the future hold in regards to female players? I would like to see more female only leagues. Ones that are as big as the male ones, but for females only. I would also like to see the community become a bit more friendly towards females as a whole and of course this will help the growth of E-Sports.
* What do you do in your time when you are not playing or watching esports? Wait there is a time when you don't play or watch esports? Jk! I actually work for a lawyer part time. When I am not playing or watching esports I am looking for something to do to help the community more. Such as run events/tournaments, do commentary or maybe make some guides for people who are new to that particular game.
* If you're in team, what team are you in and what is your role with them? Team Dignitas and I am a blog writer for them * How old are you & how long have you been playing BW/SC2? 22 & 3 years.
* If you could do 1 thing in regards to BW/SC2, what would you do and why? Take a picture with Jaedong cause his muta micro is amazing!!!
It seems a bit silly to make a big deal out of a player being a girl. I thought the point of posting about Starcraft was to be about Starcraft. I mean obviously people have side interests, but really what difference does it make in relation to SC? Like they deserve extra attention just because they're chicks? If not, what difference does it make? If so, why is them being a girl significant to their SC career/skill?

The point of the GoSc Group is very simple - The Girls of Starcraft group was created as a way to help encourage more females to play the game and the constant growth of females in the starcraft community. For the longest time Starcraft has been male dominated. One of the goals of GoSc is to help give recognition to the female players who have not been given such in the past. Another goal is to help encourage a more friendly and competitive environment for the female gamers in Starcraft. The members of GoSc firmly believe that the group is a great way to help support one another and is a great motivator for each other in terms of trying to become more active in the community.
This is exactly what I put on our wiki page. Apparently you didn't check it out. ^_^

If it weren't for the ever growing, and ever supportive GoSC community, I probably never would have been inspired to attend events, encourage other ladies to play, observe, support, share opinions, etc... I consider myself very lucky to have found this lovely group of girls. (I searched for a very long time before the beginning of June - before the group began - just HOPING that I wasn't going to forever be the only girl I knew of, in the US, anyhow, who enjoyed this game.)
2rax - I think I've said this before, but THANK YOU for starting this thread, and I (and I'm sure many others of us) look forward to additional member spotlights!

Sorry but its something I never really understood. I always assumed it was blokes setting up girl only leagues. Doesnt it feel like your deliberatley putting distance between sexes? Its not like its a power lifting competition or whos got the largest cock

Why do Polish players want Polish only leagues? Why do TL users want a TL only league? Why do TL Staff want a TL staff only league (we've had this)?
People like playing with others who have similar interests to them, it doesn't "deliberately put distance" over anything, there's plenty of leagues separated by age, gender, or any other characteristic. It's perfectly normal and natural to have this, so I wonder why it's necessary for so many people to question the existence / motivation / utility of female-only Starcraft tournaments. It's not hurting anyone and its creating a place for a minority group in the community to have more fun, what is wrong?
The point of the GoSc Group is very simple - The Girls of Starcraft group was created as a way to help encourage more females to play the game and the constant growth of females in the starcraft community. For the longest time Starcraft has been male dominated. One of the goals of GoSc is to help give recognition to the female players who have not been given such in the past. Another goal is to help encourage a more friendly and competitive environment for the female gamers in Starcraft. The members of GoSc firmly believe that the group is a great way to help support one another and is a great motivator for each other in terms of trying to become more active in the community.

Aww thank you and I agree with you! For my part, when I met this (awesome) group, I got even more motivated to improve at SC2 and it's so much fun to chitchat with girls about it too

I think it is because it is a new type of exclusion for people. Most SC players are used to regional tournaments restricting outsiders. They're used to tournaments targeting subsets of players by skill level (Bronze, whatever) and ones based on ethnicity, but they're just not used to ones separated by gender.
I think people have a tendency to lash out at new things in general, especially if it excludes them.
Hopefully, the kind of negative feedback that female tournaments, groups, and leagues generate will subside over time. Maybe I'm just being too optimistic though, but I can always hope.

I think it will... I haven't gotten that much negative feedback disclosing I'm a woman so far... And from what I heard it happened in the past. So I guess it improved?

Very well said Hot Bid! I don't think any of us could have put it better and that is exactly the situation with the girls only Leagues. We personally (or less than 1% of us) are involved in the actual creation and running of the girls only Leagues, however we do support them. It makes us feel a bit more comfortable and a bit more at home. Then we know we are facing other girls just like us, who can get just as upset as us over a loss or just as excited over a win. Another girl will understand how annoying it is to break a nail while playing or if you chip your nail polish from playing to much - a guy won't understand this (unless they are an actor or gay). So this allows us a place were we can practice and feel more at home. The same can be said for those from different countries. It is not that the Koreans can't play with people from North America, in fact they are happy for new challenges. However, they still prefer to have a group challenge against those they are most use to - other Koreans. What Hot Bid said is exactly why those kind of leagues exist. As for this group, I have already stated why we exist. It is not to make a "distance" between the male players and the female players - it is to encourage more female players to play in a friendly environment, with fellow female players.
The point of the GoSc Group is very simple - The Girls of Starcraft group was created as a way to help encourage more females to play the game and the constant growth of females in the starcraft community. I am great that the group has helped you. Suna and I started the group for just the reasons that you stated. It has been a constant battle to make sure that remains as problem free as possible.
I look forward to see how much more our little group will expand and I hope that as a whole, we can change the scene to be more friendly towards females, because we don't want special treatment - we just want to play in peace and compete on the same level as the rest of the guys in the community. ^_^

Actually, I did that in the beggining but received a mod PM asking me to switch the links to TLs... so I did! ...
I don't get all the hate towards the female SC2 community (and female gamers in general). So they have their own league. Big deal. It's probably one of those things that girls like to do together, because you know, sometimes girls like to hang out with each other and do stuff.

We don't have our own league LOL. There's one girl league the bumblebee cup or w/e. And not many of us play in it. Most of us compete in leagues including everyone.

This made me chuckle. Way to generalize! Not only against men's ability to understand the woes of chipped nail polish, but also stereotyping all gays (and no straights) using nail polish. In a thread, which in part is fighting the "girls don't game"-stereotype, this comment just seems so unfitting!

girls grouping purely based on gender isnt because of a shared interested beyond the obvious starcraft.
sexist and ageist leagues dont help anyone, have no correlation to interests and just promote exclusion and discrimination. i really dont agree with the argument that they arent hurting anyone because if we ever want to move beyond a girl minority in starcraft we need to include them not exclude them. thats whats wrong.

A male-dominated area can be a hard place for a woman to feel comfortable. Knowing that there are other girls who play, being able to talk to them about issues that women can face in gaming (broken nails aside ), and being able to compete with other girls (who are hopefully focusing on your ability and not judging whether you're 'hot' or 'cute' or not) helps women feel more comfortable, keeps them in the gaming scene (whereas they might get sick of the bullshit and give up otherwise!) and attracts more women to the scene.
How about a shared interest of people who can support you in dealing with the assholes who stalk and harass you because of your gender. -.- Seems like a good shared interest to me.

Basically it's not a big deal if you do not make it a big deal out of it. This group is so full of love if we explode unicorns and rainbows will start appearing all over xel naga caverns.
The girls love playing in house with each other, same as how EG would practise in house, how TL will practise in house, how oGs will practise in house. So we decided that a little competition wouldn't hurt.
Don't worry. We include ourselves in the community all right. But how can some of the more reserved and shy girls if people like you can't even allow us to have our own group without you being aggressive or at least whiny about it?

I didn't realize this argument was continuing, but I suppose it never ends. I'll just leave it at this: when you're a female player, stream, get asked by people to 2v2, politely decline because you're playing with friends, and then get told "fuck you, i knew you were a bitch" ... what does that even mean about the SC scene? It means that some people in this community, for whatever reason, have incredibly irrational expectations of women. Imagine that happening between two guys: "yo dude, wanna play a game of SC?" "nah i'm busy." "FU I KNEW YOU WERE A STRUMPET." I'm not sure it would happen quite like that.
Go Girls of SC ! This is really a great group of girls dedicated to promoting females in SC2. Love what you're doing~

I DON'T LIKE IT WHEN *group I am not a part of* DO THINGS THAT EXCLUDE ME. WHAT IF *group I am a part of* DID A THING THAT EXCLUDED *group I am not a part of*. I WOULD BE CALLED *sexist/racist/homophobic/other*. THEY ARE JUST CREATING DIVISIONS AND ACTIVELY STOPPING INCLUSIVENESS SOMEHOW.
just wanted to say it here like i've said it all the other girls of SC2 areas:
Frick, yeah! Made it into Diamond It was nice to have all the other girls congratulate me on the promotion. I streamed so much to them XD. Just another one of us climbing the ladder ;O
And that one who says we're excluding people or whatever should read the previous posts. I don't think I need to repeat stuff that has already been said.
o.O That is one crazy cat! By the way, for those who care - The girls only group is up to 170+ members! At this rate we will hit 200 around October (If that is possible) ^_^
Nice to see groups like this, im betting the reason for the little trolls is that they want to join the group activities from their dreams soooooo bad :p

Remember too, if you're not a girl, you can still go follow and/or "like" GoSC and get a glimpse of what we are up to here and there: @the_GoSC and http://www.facebook.com/TheGoSC
Got some fun other stuff in the works too - tba at a later date
I don't actually want to be classified as a girl(I just want to be a StarCraft II player/enthusiast) so I don't really want to join this group, but I support you guys 100% <3.
Polish player EffkA - http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/EffkA - She stopped practicing, but back in a days she was incredibly good. In one Craft Cup on her way to victory she won with EmpireKas, Beastyqt and with DieStar in finals.
*How did you get involved in BW/SC2 : As a spectator I've been involved in SC2 since the beta and this being only my second delve into the world of eSports so it didn't take me long to get as obsessed with it as I am. One day last year I felt brave enough to try the game myself and this coincided with my son being born so as you can imagine I was busy lol. I picked it up again to play in March time but never stopped watching even in hospital i was getting updates on how SC2 things were going. It's opened doors into other games too which I wouldn't have found before like LoL for example so no I'm not an "SC2Purist" but I'm eSports all the way till the end :-)
*By which team/player/caster? are you most inspired: Dignitas is my first choice since they are british of course, them as bigger team but also my own Team Fem-Fx there is talent to be found everywhere and not necessarily in playing you just need to look.
Player that inspires me has to be White-Ra the amount of times not just in game but in life I end up quoting him 'No GG No Skill' the guy just seems so sound he appreciates not just his fans but his sponsors anyone who helped put him where he is gets a smile, I hope to shake his hand one day.
Caster wise it would have to be in SC2 anyway, Totalbiscuit I got to meet him at i43 this weekend just gone and I didn't know what to say other than how proud I am of him. From where he's come from on a small internet radio website about WoW to here, he just is entertainment all the way.
* What would you ultimately like to see the future hold in regards to female players? Well I would hope that more females break into the popular section of SC2 where we truly mix, in the NASL for example one day it would be nice to see not just a mix of races competing but a mix of genders too, look at the MLG Open Bracket more females getting in there all the time.
*What do you do in your time when you are not playing or watching esports? eSports, a Student and my family basically, when I say it has consumes my life for no return I'm not kidding lol I'm so passionate to find my place in eSports where I can help it grow even more whatever that may be I will find it.
*If you're in team, what team are you in and what is your role with them? As above states I am indeed I am podcaster for Team Fem-Fx and currently every Saturday 22:00 CEST I bring the eSports world the Slag Pits (those times may change soon though were still ironing out the kinks).
*How old are you & how long have you been playing BW/SC2? 24 & 13 months
*If you could do 1 thing in regards to BW/SC2, what would you do and why? Get some of the great british talent out there into the more international stuff (we've got some good females too ;-)
*Role in the community? Actually too much at times :-D like I say I do Slag Pits every Saturday for Team Fem-Fx and we may be expanding into other games like LoL ;-)
Then there's Graphic and Web Design which I'm doing as much as possible for eSports (after all its where my degree is going to be) my active projects are for two of our members Kelly Milkies and Maelys Dang.
Also I've done some casting with VampireLady and Team CiG then there's organising Casters Cup (Coming Soon).
Prides logs remind me of every girl only CS clan I ever encountered.
Gonna have to agree with the nay sayers once again. The girl only stuff seems to be counter intuitive. It just segregates you even more, while drawing nothing but creepers who want to shower you with attention into your community. But maybe that is considered a good thing to some people.

I like how it is okay when people of the same beliefs, same religion, or same country form groups, but if you group by gender, it is the end of the world.
Might as well argue against Christian SC2 groups and German SC2 groups. These trolls are kinda sad.

Might as well argue against Christian SC2 groups and German SC2 groups. These trolls are kinda sad.
The difference is that females have a hard time in StarCraft 2 just for being females (creepers/trolls and the like). I'm pretty sure Germans and Christians don't face the same magnitude of issue's that a lot of female gamers do.

That is quite a stretch. Religious and national groups are one thing... language, location, and a way of life are good common grounds to form a group on.
Its not the end of the world either, you just put those words in my mouth.
* How did you get involved in BW/SC2: I've played rts games since I was about 11 but not competitively for the most part. I love Blizzard games so when I saw the first trailer for SC2 back in like 2007 I was like :o even though I never played BW. Then I forgot about it and a friend reminded me. I bought it and didn't stop playing since~~
* By which team/player/caster are you most inspired? I don't feel inspired by a team but rather by individual progamers/members of the community. Day9 inspires me to build my play from the ground up and not take it so seriously, MC/HuK inspire me to keep playing Protoss :p, I'm grateful to Kelly for setting a sick example as the first prominent girl, and Tastosis are just ♥
* What would you ultimately like to see the future hold in regards to female players? I would like to see the sick GM chicks (or any upcoming female) suddenly appear among the masses of dudes and take them down. Its starting to happen, with Flo being taken out by White-Ra and all. The more girls names I see among the guys, the more "f-yeah" I feel.
* What do you do in your time when you are not playing or watching esports? I just quit my job so right now...nothing :o Just kidding. I love music/books/making art/cooking.
* How old are you & how long have you been playing BW/SC2? 23 & since November 2010.
* Role in the community? I'm an upcoming caster. I am casting the Go4SC2 cup this Sunday with FGKatu, another fellow Canadian and I will also be casting the next Bunny Cup. I don't have a stream yet---for now we're using Katu's.

it's widely believed that Effka's BF, italian player StarEagle has won that tournament.
Do you have any sort of source for that? It's an interesting thing to put on Liquipedia, but not unsourced...
what kind of source do you want exactly? DL the reps and compare em to eagle then you can be certain.
Oh, okay. I wanted something that would fit being a source on Liquipedia, something that people could look at and decide within the space of 5 seconds whether it confirms what's written or not. After all, since Liquipedia tries to convey facts as truthfully as possible, I wouldn't want to accuse anyone of being a cheater just based on a different playstyle that one evening.
However, a statement about a doubled APM or something like that would be adequetly convincing, I think.
4th member spotlight: LEIELLA *Name: Tanya "Leiella" *Peferred race: Protoss *League: Not ranked, but working on my 1s
* How did you get involved in BW/SC2: I'm a gamer girl so I just figured even tho I wasn't really into RTSs up until that point why not give SC2 a try. Then I just couldn't stop playing, especially when I started getting involved and meeting new teammates, etc. Team games are so much fun with skype!
* By which team/player/caster? are you most inspired: As for a player I would say someone like Moman or Ret.
*If your in team, what team are you in and what is your role with them?
Team Dignitas and I am a blog writer for them
* How old are you & how long have you been playing BW/SC2? 22 & 3 years.
* If you could do 1 thing in regards to BW/SC2, what would you do and why? Take a picture with Jaedong cause his muta micro is amazing!!!
5th member spotlight: LADYINSANITY *Name: Ashley "Ladyinsanity" Soriano * Preferred race: Protoss * League: Silver * How did you get involved in BW SC2: I've known about Starcraft for years, but I didn't start watching until MLG Raleigh last year. I grew to really enjoy the game, but could not play it at all (was competing in Halo and Call of Duty). A friend of mine eventually bought the game for me after MLG Dallas this year and I practically fell in love with the game.
* By which team/player/caster are you most inspired: Despite my hesitations about the guy, HuK is probably my inspiration in playing. I admire his dedication and work ethic within Starcraft. Take every aspect of him as a player and that is what I want to be at.
* What would you ultimately like to see the future hold in regards to female players? Personally, I would like to see the number of females match the number of males at tournaments. Realistically, I want to see around 20 or more females competing within the bigger tournaments (MLG, IPL, NASL, etc).
*What do you do in your time when you are not playing or watching esports? Most of my life is dedicated to gaming and eSports in some capacity. I study Interactive Entertainment at USC full-time and I am also interning at Treyarch (they made Call of Duty: Black Ops). So any free time that I have that is not dedicated to competing or watching tournaments is devoted to school and work. * If you're in a team, what team are you in and what is your role with them? I recently left Quantic Gaming. I was a contracted player for Call of Duty since early March and played Starcraft for them in MLG Raleigh. I don't regret leaving them - I'm happily a free agent now
* How old are you & how long have you been playing BW/SC2? 22 and I have been playing SC2 since March of this year.
* If you could do 1 thing in regards to BW/SC2, what would you do and why? Play and hope to eventually place in any of the tournaments this or next year. I also would love to help more females compete at tournaments. With MLG, I have 16 events on my belt and would love to get more females involved, competing, and shredding the competition

6th member spotlight: BRIGHTSIDE *Name: Brandi "BrightSide" PM * Preferred race: I learned Protoss first, but I think Zerg is fun, and I'm learning Terran as well: Random? * League: I often wonder. I do a lot with the community, and because I love that work so much, I don't get a chance to play often on the ladder. I really play for the enjoyment of it, so, even if I happen to get really good, I don't know that I will notice :D
*How did you get involved in BW/SC2 : Ever since I can remember, I've been around video games. I knew my dad up until I was about six (don't worry, It's not a "sad" story), and he and I would sit and play whatever game was available for our PC. My parents split pretty early in my life, but I eventually acquired a few step-brothers who played on a daily basis: old-school PC games, Atari, Nintendo, etc... The people I gravitated toward in school were always people with interest in gaming of one kind or another.
My really good friend, Tristan, (here's looking at you Tris – glad we finally got in contact again) was huge into Diablo2, and he'd tell me stories of it all the time about what he had collected, who he was able to help, what quests he’d completed or was having a hell of a time with, and so on and so on. He would go on for hours, and I, being a good and loving friend, would listen. (Not to mention I love great stories anyway.) After high school, we went our separate ways – he to the military, and I to more school – both always hoping we’d cross paths again someday, and knowing we were both awful at keeping in touch. We eventually did lose touch, as people often do, but I tried to keep in touch with the world of video games - not only because it was awesome, but there was always that connection with my friend - even though I no longer saw him on a daily basis.
Lots of life happened. Making $$ took up a lot of my time (working at jobs I didn't love). I did all the "life" stuff at a very young age, and was on a long gaming hiatus. I couldn't help but feeling something was missing. I had stuff to like and do, but nothing to be really passionate about. Because of my 'time off from games' I never got the chance to get into BW. My husband had played BW and D2, but was playing a lot of WoW at the time we met, and I never really got into that either, so I would find other things to play, like Scrabble, physics games of the Flash variety, puzzle games, word games, etc etc... finish one, move on to the next. And then one day: SC2 was released.
There were parties, there was hype, there was much dancing and rejoicing from keyboards all over the world. A new era had begun. I watched my husband play some, and asked lots of questions. It looked interesting enough, but my husband is an engineer-turned-programmer, and explains things in such a way that any lay person would have a hard time understanding. But alas, one evening, via the magic we know as the internet, he was watching something which intrigued me. What was that? You may ask. ‘Twas an informative game analysis focusing on what was done, what to do, how to be better – and more of that, and still more. I watched, I understood, I learned. I PLAYED. I built stuff. I battled. I learned. I got an account. I PLAYED. (I won a few times and lost a crap-ton, but it's fun, so win or lose – no big). I learned. I LEARNED. I will never stop learning. OMG ZOMG MOMG! That’s one of the things I live by!!!
It was just meant to be. So, here I am now, over a year after the release of SC2, helping to spread the word on how cool this game is – how cool StarCraft is - To spread the word that gaming is not just a bunch of teenage boys snorting and cracking on girls, but in the SC community(ies), gaming is a place for growth, personal improvement, and an awesome chance to meet people who share a common passion and interest. I've gone places and done things that I would, otherwise, never even have thought of - All because I love this game and all people/things surrounding it. So, how did I get into StarCraft? <- I amend this question to "how did I get into the Girls' StarCraft community" : I didn't just get into it. I wrapped myself around it, and I embraced it, and then I wondered how many other girls shared my same passion. I think I began searching in April of 2011, and finally found the Girls of StarCraft group that had begun on Facebook by June. I joined the girls when there were only about 30-40 members – maybe fewer, and I'm dedicated to helping the group grow and expand. At events, I ask other girls who obviously have an interest in the game, if they play, and introduce them to our group. I hear so many girls say “I thought I was the only one.” I feel I've gained a fuller life because of this game, and I want others to revel in that opportunity as well. <3
*By which team/player/caster are you most inspired? Team: GoGoGo friends at team Fem-FX, but other than these girls, I'm pretty unbiased, and I enjoy the diversity of different teams.
Player: White-Ra, because of his extreme nice-ness, and dedication to constant improvement. MarineKing because of his undying gratitude, and just about anyone who is supportive of the girls. (I do enjoy watching IdrA's play as well.)
Caster: Props to ALL the female castresses out there! Ugh – that's tough to just pick one. They all do such a great job and I don't think I can really pick one over the others. Casters: I will say this: Husky has come a long way, and I love his excitement and casting style, and I want to mention Robin (Tim Frazier) as well, because I think he's in the beginnings of some great casting.
*What would you ultimately like to see the future hold in regards to female players? I'd love to see some top female players rise up through the brackets, and one day, compete in main-stage events. I'd like to see female and male (e)athletes competing at the same levels with the same respect.
*What do you do in your time when you are not playing or watching eSports? I have a full time job in graphic design, as well as people to tend to, but when all is done, I dedicate a hefty chunk of my time to growing the female StarCraft community. I enjoy photography, and creating delicious eats. I must also mention, I LOVE hearing and reading great stories.
*If you're in a team, what team are you in and what is your role with them? I support the girls' teams, but am too flighty and 'busy creating' to be ON a team atm.
*How old are you & how long have you been playing BW/SC2? Forever26, and SC2 since about a month after its release.
*If you could do 1 thing in regards to BW/SC2, what would you do and why? Anything? In a perfect world, female and male players would be viewed as completely equal. My goal is to spread the word as fast as possible that YES, many girls love this game too. I’d also like to have the means to get to as many tournaments as possible, because I think it’s really important to meet up with others in the community.
*Role in the community? I currently am a co-administrator for the GoSC private FB group, co-community manager for our Twitter @the_GoSC, and Girls of StarCraft Facebook fan page, I help organize and conduct interviews, I'm also a graphic designer/writer actively working on the GoSC main site at http://gosc.tv. I promote our group at tourneys, photograph events, and contribute as much as possible to the success of the organization. Oh, and I WILL ask for help when needed, so beware of my direct messages :D:D
7th member spotlight: NUDGE *Name: Simone aka (FemFX)Nudge *Preferred race: Zerg ofcourse! *League: Gold *How did you get involved in BW SC2 : A reason I rather forget!! ^_ ^
*By which team/player/caster? are you most inspired: Three people actually, first of all Day 9 ofcourse... Dont have to explain that.. Second RET, third are actually two people from Fem-FX, katiedonut and chet.. They are amazing good zerg players and I like their style!
* What would you ultimately like to see the future hold in regards to female players? More top players, and even a better community.
*What do you do in your time when you are not playing or watching esports? I organize a LARP for about 200 people twice a year, try to learn myself a bit of guitar, I am quite creative so I try to write, draw etc.. And I love to go out with friends and play other games!
*If you're in a team, what team are you in and what is your role with them? I am in team named fem-Fx. Officially I am a casual player, but I like to help out where ever I can. I love to write, set up the practise for the EU together with my little brother who joined our team as coach. My ultimate goal is to get involved even more in this great community and become better with SC2.
*How old are you & how long have you been playing BW/SC2? I am 26 years already. I don't know exactly when I got SC2 but it was about three months after it came out. It is my first RTS, and I love it!
*If you could do 1 thing in regards to BW/SC2, what would you do and why? I would love to be either in the organization of an event, greeting people and watching the pro's have fun playing.. Or I would love to help out with the art regarding to SC2.. or maybe.. even... cast.. I love meeting new people, I love to talk.. So anything that would involve me doing that would be great!
Okay, I updated it. Sorry, I've been very busy and I am currently in China lol. I am casting the Zowie Divina SC2 female tournament with Kellymilkies. Check it out

* By which team/player/caster? are you most inspired: Favourite team is Prime! My favourite Terran is MarineKing (marine micro ftw), Zerg is Leenock and Protoss is HuK. For casters, I like Tastosis.
* What would you ultimately like to see the future hold in regards to female players? More female teams would be cool. I would like for female gamers to compete at pro level, especially at GSL because I'm such a GSL fan. Also, I'd like to see more female commentators in big events.
* What do you do in your time when you are not playing or watching esports? I'm a 3rd year law student, so I study a lot. I also play other video games (currently: Zelda 3Ds). I watch lots of american tv series and I like to hang out with friends. I also attend some LANs in my area when I can. I like art but don't have time to paint anymore.

This is awesome! Thanks for all your hard work Geneviève! It's nice to see other ladies as a lady beginner, and hear some names of some gamers to look up to of this gender!
More Pics of Gaming Girls pls. I Think it is rly good for the community if more girls out themselfes as gamers. Starcraft can bea great hobby / sporty for everyone.
And it would be nice to have a lot of cuties on a barcraft event ;-)
Awesome thread. Its good that this is getting out to people. Opening up eSports to girls as well so they don't have to feel weird if they like playing sc2 or even games in general at a competetive level.
On the other hand this also makes it much easier for girls to find other girls online and make friends and discuss things.
On the other hand, this also makes it easier for me to pick out my future wife.
Because you have to be in our group in order for me to add someone. I can send her a message when I have time if I can find a way to contact her. Or she could always ask. We accept every girl, really. Also, I want confirmation that the said girls want to be on the list. That's it! =)

I played Warcraft III for five years. Many of my friends from that game went to SC2 so I decided to play it as well. * By which team/player/caster are you most inspired? No unusual support for any team, i say "fighting" for my favorite player, which is oGsMC. His micro is like god and i feel his forcefield is perfect art. i think He is protoss players' leader in spirit also my coach Wulongstorm. Wulong is the only tw/kr server GM in Taiwan. He has very good micro and macro, and he is my teacher,a very very very good teacher. he teach me most tactics, let me win against many pro who i win them almost impossible. QBabyStorM (http://www.facebook.com/QBabyStorM) is one of the most Well-known castors in taiwan. she stream interesting and popular. she is a very charming woman with sweet voice and she always committed to promotion sc2.Worthy of respect.
* What would you ultimately like to see the future hold in regards to female players? More and more female players as powerful as top male players. * What do you do in your time when you are not playing or watching esports? I like window shopping and eating but sc2 takes me a lot of time to practice, so i have little time outside. Sometimes take a walk with my dog around the park. * If you are in team, what team are you in and what is your role with them? I would like to join fxo because the best macro "GM" choya there. I hope i can up tw/kr server gm by teaching of choya and be a important player in the team. Currently I am in a Taiwanese clan called Storm and we compete in TCL and TESL.
* How old are you & how long have you been playing BW/SC2? I am always 18 and have been playing SC2 since the end of October last year.
* If you could do 1 thing in regards to BW/SC2, what would you do and why? I dont think very much, i just hope for fun, but win=fun for me,when i beat the pro's many people always say they are play with me not serious. I want to prove girls dont lose boys on rts. People watch female match always comment player if she beautiful or not. I want people watch female match can importance their Strength >>appearance. * Would you like to attend an event such as the Zowie Divina Tournament? Did you attend any big LAN tournaments? If time is okay and I can conquer my nerves, i think i will. I have a full time job and it is very difficult to get vacation. I have not yet attended any major lan's for SC2.
* I saw that you got GM on the NA server, apart from that, what's your biggest accomplishment in SC2? i beat JulyZerg in a showmatch when he came to taiwan in May this year.
Am I the only one here who was kinda hoping for an image gallery in this thread? Or at least, some sort of calendar? The title of the thread lends itself to a few different expectations/interpretations...
10th member spotlight: TSUKARI * Your Name and/OR Handle(s): tsukari * What's your preferred race: Protoss * League: Silver/Gold
* How did you get involved in BW/SC2 : I played BW when I was super young, so I don't remember much of it. As for SC2... well it started with Day9 & King of the Beta tourney then I kinda fell off for a bit. Picked it back up with Husky, and soon after the GSL and well... I guess I just fell in love.
* By which team/player/caster? are you most inspired: * TEAM: SlayerS > haha anyone who knows me/follows me on twitter knows how much I love team SlayerS. Besides BoxeR being a legend, I absolutely love the way everyone describes their relationship with not only BoxeR but the rest of the team as well. We all know how hard BoxeR works and his passion for StarCraft, but what I find amazing is seeing that passion passed on and shine through his team. MMA tends to be the most notable, but other players like GanZi, Ryung, TaeJa, Alicia, Puzzle, and even Dragon show that their passion increases every time any SlayerS does well. Even after losses, they'll all be depressed together but they never stay down for long. Along with the help of their fans, they get right back up and strive harder than before. At least, that's how it looks to me.
* Casters: Day9 & Tasteless > the amount of work they both do is really astonishing, and huge props to Tasteless for dropping everything to go cast SC in Korea. I don't think I'd have the courage to do that.
* What would you ultimately like to see the future hold in regards to female players? I would love for there not need to be a distinction between female players and male players. Someday, I want everything to be so integrated that people can't remember saying, "And we have a girl on the mainstage facing off x player!"
* What do you do in your time when you are not playing or watching esports? I tweet like a madwoman to get my eSports fix in while I handle school! (Then again I normally tweet like crazy >_>) Other than that I sing, dance hula, read manga, and cook. ^^

How did you get involved in BW/SC2: Well, I played WoW since vanilla with my boyfriend. He introduced me to the glory that is Blizzard Enertainment. I was one of those nagging girlfriends, at first, and hated the fact he played video games. After awhile, I understood how it was much more than a silly hobby and it meant a lot to him, so I started playing. Years before SC2 was released, he was showing me the early footage of the gameplay and I was super excited ever since then. RTS was brand new to me. It was hard to learn the mechanics but I enjoyed the challenge. Once I won my first ladder game, I was hooked. hehe ^.^
By which team/player/caster? are you most inspired: Team - Evil Geniuses
Casters - Tastosis + Day9
Players - Choosing one is impossible! lol xD I'll list a few by race.
What would you ultimately like to see the future hold in regards to female players? As much as I'd like to see females playing alongside the males, I think its pivotel for SC2 to have more female only leagues and tournaments. Having a female demographic makes the game feel so much more global and universal. Many people play video games, but girls are hesistant to admit it when they do. In the near future, all I really want to see is females making up 50% of the community, whether they are players or fans. The gender gap is closing slowly everyday, and I believe we are near the 50/50 mark. Together, as men and women of SC, we will achieve this feat sooner than later.
What do you do in your time when you are not playing or watching esports? I work part time at Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market (a small grocery store ran by self-checkout computers) and go to school. I'm a homebody so I'm usually keeping busy doing things like cooking and baking, watching movies and TV shows with the boyfriend, playing with my kitty cat <3, etc.
Was unaware that there was a GOSC TL THREAD. OMG YES. Now, since I can't join your facebook group I can read about you ladies here. Awesome interviews, keep it up guys
would any female players like to have a new practice buddy or help me improve im silver/gold level (currently gold but not in level of play) i have eu and na account pm me if you wish to play
The biggest thing that pisses me off about eSports is the reaction a large portion of the community gives towards girl gamers who are not attractive (even those who are not very attractive.) I think this is a problem that needs attention before a large portion of girl gamers will want to be a part of the community. I know that you can never get rid of the problem, but I think it would be good if it was acknowledged. That said I am very happy to see the number of girls who play Starcraft! I hope many more join in your footsteps because there is certainly a need in this sadly male dominated community.

I hope many more join in your footsteps because there is certainly a need in this sadly male dominated community.
Yeah I agree completely. alot of people, when they describe female gamers, often mention if they are cute or not etc.
for example, just check a few pages back, there was someone who said "............... she's very cute.......... " etc. who the fuck cares? why should that matter?
i wish the gaming community wasn't as sexist as it is.

the looks of male gamers get commented on constantly, tlo's looks, nada's body thread etc.
if you dont like getting judged on your looks dont post a picture, its a natural reaction to judge people on their looks, if your actively promoting girl players looks dont get mad at people for making a comment on the content you produce.

How can that be a bad thing in anyone's books?
This is a good post, also the reason I never understand when tl guys go crazy because a girl has been promoted ahead of better guy players. Sometimes you just need to see people like you doing the same thing you are to feel properly comfortable. N1 showing that there's nothing masculine about gaming :p

Well I think they are all babes! well... most of them anyway.
Clicking through all of these ladies' pages makes me kinda depressed. I have not a single girl around me who plays games let alone play SC2. I am also depressed because I recently contracted yellow fever when they started showing Korean Pop on Australian television.

ok you can go on thinking that is the same thing but i won't. the NaDa thread - have you read it? it's 200 pages of trolling mixed with people thinking he is cute. it's no way near the same thing as this where players get judged depending on not their skill but their looks.
and TLO's beard..what do you mean? people say his beard is sexy people say he looks like Abraham Lincoln, people don't like to watch his stream because he's got a cool beard.
and do you really think there's only been one person posting about her looks? Read the Aphrodite thread, read the FLO thread, read the JongMi thread. The posts speak for themselves.
Alot of posts only say like: "Oh, she's cute, i'll definitely follow her progress!"
Some other though say things like "She's cute and she's also a good player". And this is at the best - alot of people here on TL look at female gamers looks before they look at their skill. I think it's there the problem is.
Read those threads and compare them to the NaDa thread and you'll hopefully realize it's a bit different.
well if you want to stop being judged on your looks stop posting a picture, or dont have the picture take up half the page and info about their skill take 2 lines. i realise this is kind of difficult to do when their accomplishments read "is in master league" but thats the position you are putting yourself in. look at flo's own response in that thread, she is fully aware she is part of a marketing team and her looks are actually the number 1 thing for that.
you cant defend (lower skill) girl gamers with "they are important for marketing demogrpahics" and then turn around and hate being judged on looks
im ok with it however you want to play it, its just odd that you get so angry about something that you brought on yourselves
i also dont understand you first point. so half of nadas thread is trolling, the other half semihomo come ons. how is that different to the girl threads you see? a mix of trolling and people being randomly whiteknighty or geniunely feeling the need to say shes hot. it just sounds like your going out looking to be offended, when the guys in the same situation laugh it off as good fun.
i think the GM girls need to start doing some stuff because this diamond league girl stuff is kinda stupid. diamond league isnt worthy of the viewers girls that shall remain nameless get
flo is sick nasty good and fast love flo duno any other good girls but i imagine a gm girl player is just as good as the male counterpart so start streaming

can you read? do you think i want girls who are not as good as guys at this game to be as likely promoted? you are very wrong there, i do not. with that said, i'd really love that more girls are playing sc nowadays.
so people can never show their friends and the community what they look like because then they'll automatically be judged whether they're ugly or not. are you serious? do you want it to be that way? that, whenever you see a pic, you use a scale from 1-10 and point at the picture. well, i sure as hell don't want that elitist society.
how the threads differ from the girl threads? haven't NaDa and TLO already made a name for themselves in this community? Did they get judged by their looks when they made their first appearances? NO. there lies the difference. they're not judged in the same meaning, they're just appreciated in a more trolling way.
and please before you quote me, read my posts and understand what i want to say because you clearly don't. and no i'm not angry but i don't either like to argue with stupid people.

] flo is a rather good level masters player. certainly faster then say a desrow or hongun who are gm level. the problem is that girls already get screwed in the job market so when they try and get some "unfair" attention by posting a pic or streaming webcam then they are gonna get flack.
i think a girl who wants to be a gamer much like the girl who wants to dive into any other male dominated world has to play the male game at first. you cannot make a name for yourself by first streaming webcam. you must first be good THEN stream webcam and be like AHAH IM A GIRL NOW WHAT. or something else corny and stupid.
girls just need to be good and not even mention they are a girl. i dont see why anyone whos a girl gamer can be found out since this is an online deal. the internet is the great equalizer. a girl who is upset she is being discriminated against online most likely revealed she is a girl and is bad at said game. guys get $(#@ for being bad at games constantly. this isnt special to girls. for the most part girls need to get tougher skin because the best way to silence a guy who is giving you $(($# is beat him join in with him or ignore him just like in the real world. i really really dont think there is a giant group of men who do not accept women. what tends to be the case is women are statistically bad at video games and then a lot of them act all cutsie. gota just go get good and thats it its so simple... be good you cannot NOT respect being good
my final point tho. "girls of starcraft" why... i mean isnt this in itself a set up for failure? why cant you just fit in with guys who play starcraft and just not bring up gender. im very curious why its important to list girls in a dif list basically segregating yourself... why announce "i am a girl see im on the OTHER list and i play sc"
People talk about the girls looks because no woman has made much of an impact in the pro scene. So what is there to talk about? I think it is a case of searching for material. When theres not many games to discuss of course it will go into something else like looks or weight or sexual orientation or beards ect... The community is always ready for good games its just a matetr of time before a woman gives us those good games to actually discuss.
Alot of posts only say like: "Oh, she's cute, i'll definitely follow her progress!"
Some other though say things like "She's cute and she's also a good player". And this is at the best - alot of people here on TL look at female gamers looks before they look at their skill. I think it's there the problem is.

Have you seen the xellos documentary for sc? they ask some girls why they like the male pros and they say, 'oh because they're cute', I asked a girl why she likes tasteless and again, 'because he's handsome' - sorry, these are just examples that I've recently experienced.
The problem I think is that it's so dominated by guys that there's no equality in this, if you're a girl sc player then 20,000 guys are looking at you measuring your value. As a guy playing sc no one cares what I look like, what I act like, who I am. Not being in the limelight in any way I'm not in a position to be subjected to this.
Check out demuslims stream and half the posts are about his sexy voice or how he looks and every pro guy seems to be asked how big their dick is in crowd interviews (sotg final episode, huks ama the other day, demu's ama).
Men only get noticed and subjected to this attention when they're successful though, whereas women stand out just for their novelty. I'm surprised there are more posts talking about girls looks than there are saying they're bad at sc because that certainly isn't what I've seen.
my final point tho. PLEASE someone explain this
it isn't to exclude guys, it's to invite girls to a place they can talk to other girls, where they are no longer in the minority and where they can talk about girl problems. I don't know, like all the boys sending them explicit things, the guys of sc talk to each other about the crazy things they are sent by interested young women too.
It's nice to talk to people with similar interests and understand that what you're doing is totally normal, if you're used to being the only girl who plays games and to being kind of a freak because of it, GoSC gives you a place to reassure yourself that it isn't true and to give you a break from being constantly hit on. If they're supportive then also a place where their looks aren't an issue. Guys playing don't even need to worry about this until they make it big.
I dno, maybe I'm wrong, maybe they all get together with a glossy boys of sc magazine and measure up trouser bulges. Who knows what girls get up to :p
They're still part of the sc community though, being part of gosc doesn't change that.

but their first appearances were based on talent with looks added later as part of the marketing package. many girls in this community bring the looks before they bring the skills. now theres nothing actually wrong with this, esports are sponsorship driven, so they decide who gets to go across the world. but if girls are going to introduced and promoted without having the skills to earn their way there first they need to accept that they are going to judged, just as everyone in the public eye is. and when theres nothing else to judge them on, looks fill that vacuum.
its great that girls are being made to feel better about themselves in the community by being able to chat about starcraft without being called names or whatever else, but EVERYONE who posts pictures of themselves on the internet, or puts themselves in the public gets judged... constantly. thats just how it is. now with more profesional people there is a whole list of things to judge them on. personality, looks, talent, etc. but when you have this small article on a previously unknown player (to most people) and its half a picture and half words. half of all the content that exists about them, is their face. what are you hoping for people to think about?
in an ideal world would people just look at the picture and say "well that just adds a face to what i know about her"? probably. but in the real world people judge each other and if your gonna post pictures of yourselves in public you better have a thick enough skin to handle that.

11th member spotlight: YANRUYU Your Name and/OR Handle(s): Linn "YanRuYu" Vikenadler * What's your preferred race: Protoss * League: Silver
* How did you get involved in BW/SC2: I grew up playing all kinds of videogames with my twinsister. I actually first came in contact with SC2 in the beginning of beta and was instantly fascinated by it. The gameplay, the graphics, the races, everything was just out of the ordinary. I got to learn that there was another game SCBW, but I never gave that game much attention. Well, I forgot about it for a year because of studies but this summer I was yet again fascinated and decided I would indeed buy this awesome game! I always push things up, so I bought it less than a month ago and has improved a lot since my frist game! It's an awesome game indeed!
* By which team/player/caster are you most inspired: I dont really follow any teams, but since I have a thing for pretty boys I would say Dignitas, only because of SeleCT, haha! Which is one of the players I like to follow, also Her0... He's awesome too! Of course I follow Day9 and tastosis also, which sc-player doesn't? Before I was all hooked on Husky, but eventually he became a little too much for me, I don't know why though... ^u^
* What would you ultimately like to see the future hold in regards to female players? I would like to see more girls in big, major tournaments, that would be awesome! Also that girls CAN indeed be a tough match for male progamers as well, resulting in girl-progamers getting more recognition! That would definatly be awesome!
* What do you do in your time when you are not playing or watching esports? I really like all kinds of art, music dancing, drawing, singing, all of that! Since I was a small girl I've always enjoyed it and have, in my opinion, become really good at it! And now, since christmas is comming up I do a lot of decorating in my apartment. I always liked furnishing, and since I moved recently to a new home I have been able to do a lot of that. * How old are you & how long have you been playing BW/SC2? I'm 19 years old and have played for almost a month now.
* If you could do 1 thing in regards to BW/SC2, what would you do and why? I would marry Sean Plott. He's so awesome! :DD
* Favourite food? Pancakes, because I make awesome pancakes and because they're might be the yummiest thing in this world (after chocolate of course!) *0*
Oh wow, totally forgot to check this thread out after I joined the fb group >.< Hope I'm good enough one day to take part in some of the group comps :3

In female dominated communities men never hear things like 'Get back to the kitchen and make me a sandwich' or 'Tits or GTFO'. Women are generally a lot less competitive and more supportive toward people and don't have to urge to compare their epeens the second they meet someone new. You want to learn how to knit? Be our guest, no one will give you shit because you can't do it on the first try like our grandma. We'll even answer your questions without calling you a retarded noob who should go back to scratching his balls, because he can't do a simple thing right. That said, I agree that choosing handles like hotprincessgrl and posting pictures of yourself all over the community just to fish for praises is okay to be frowned upon. We'd all laugh if Nada's handle was be sexyabs...
And September 2011 was the prostate cancer awareness month: http://www.pcaawareness.net/ It was pretty big, everyone was growing beards and stuff...
The misogyny on this forum/in this community is incredible. The starcraft community wants to be the best in the world. We want to bring Esports to the mainstream. We want to spread this game that we all love to as many people as we can, to show them how amazing it is. If we are going to do these things, we need to stop treating women like objects. Learn to grow up and talk to them like human beings because guess what? They're people too.
If you think a woman is being "too sensitive" about being sexually harassed, you should check your privilege. Don't know what that means? Go read this. It's an article titled "To My Someday Daughter" written by a member of the Magic: The Gathering pro community. Absolutely everything in that article applies to this community as well. It's long, it has a lot of big words, it will take all of an hour to read. But if you want the Starcraft community to grow and evolve, this is something that HAS. TO. STOP.
The biggest thing you need to take away from that article is this: If you are a Heterosexual White Male on this planet, you get treated differently. You get treated better. It's called privilege. You enjoy it every day of your life, without ever realizing it. Women, on the other hand, have to live a life plagued by people treating them differently for absolutely no other reason then they are women. If you start to add anything else different, i.e. sexuality or race, it only gets compounded and worse.
This community is about Starcraft, for Starcraft, made of Starcraft players. Starcraft is what matters here. The women of this community have banded together to be able and play Starcraft without their gender constantly coming into question. If a woman chooses to wield her sexuality as a way of spreading the message of Starcraft, that is her prerogative. She should not get crap from this community or any other. Have any of you actually taken the time to get to know the women in this community? Next time you're at a tournament, talk to them. I've had a very long, very awesome conversation with the one and only Anna Prosser, and she is a very bright, very driven women. She works harder then a great deal of the people in this community, yet people still feel the need to crack jokes about her because she is A. a woman and B. the girlfriend of a Progamer.
No one is probably going to read any of this, so I don't even know why I bother. Just please, raise your standards for your behavior. We cannot move forward until we do.

Thanks for the link to that article, I'm about halfway through, and it's pretty good. I'm a girl though, so I'm afraid you didn't have to convert me in the first place. :p
I've personally hardly ever had any problems with identifying myself as a woman in the gaming community, only once or twice was I greeted with "tits or GTFO", it seems that I've always been playing with gentlemen, heh. But I've seen behaviour like this in many places outside of the gaming community, I believe I read something about a famous female blogger getting death threats from men just because she was a woman. If that's not outrageous then I don't know what is.
I read the replies starting from the beginning, and personally was disgusted with what I saw. Livinpink wanted nothing more than to find other girls who were interested in the game that she loves. Nothing more than to find other girls who have gotten into Starcraft II. And people act as if she was trying to draw attention to herself? Accusing her of getting "all uppity"? And even go so far as to imply that she was being sexist? When her gender is the main victim of sexism?
Despicable. Just despicable. Seriously TL, we're better than this! Girls are getting into SC2 and wish to find other girls that are into this wonderful game. We should be greeting them with open arms, not accusing them of being sexist, or accusing them of trying to draw attention to themselves.
I was also surprised at how many trolling posts went unmoderated. Given TL's reputation for having little toleration for bullshit, I'm a little disappointed in the lack of mod action.

HAH it's funny how desperate douche bags post in this thread about getting a girlfriend. That's pretty pathetic and hilarious, and very symbolic of the general misogyny regarding female gamers. I honestly don't understand how people see that as any different from racism. Besides, people are either too ignorant or lying to themselves if they don't understand that more gamers of all varieties = more support for the Starcraft community as a whole. I'd love to see at least a small handful of female gamers continue to dedicate themselves to the game and consistently give the male progamers a run for their money, oh boy that would get a lot of people to shut up.

So not only did Kalu get a 90 day ban for her recent "posts", but according to SC Ranks she has dropped from Grandmaster to Gold league:
Big news for GOSC, MLG Colombus 2012 is the first one with so many girls in the Open Brackets : watch out for Ailuj, MsSpyte, LadyInsanity, Flo & myself. Let's rock dem brackets girls <3

I am glad girls of SC are getting together and stuff but why are you trying to cover "attention" reason so much? This is not purely to attract only other girl gamers to join you, and you know it. Sure, everyone likes attention but then don't get offended by any comment that isn't "Oh my this is so awesome!", attention brings a lot of opinion and not everyone who has to say something other then "YOU GIRLS ROCK!" is misogynist pig, and often you do sound like you think in that direction.
My name is gender neutral, and I think I never said in my posts if I am male or female, because it's just not needed for StarCraft related discussion. Here, I am SC player, and my gander doesn't affect anything except probably a lot more attention I'll start getting if I announce I am actually a girl.
You will say, but you are guy and you don't get it bla bla? Sure. But I have sister who plays games. She plays online/competitive games. She also have gender neutral nickname, doesn't have Stream with webcam, doesn't force her gender in every 5th post on forums and she never had any issues while she found a lot of other girls to play with both online and irl and she absolutely enjoys gaming.
All I am saying you don't really NEED and you don't really DEPEND on topics like this to have good time playing games and if you chose this way be prepared for variety of opinions, attention brings them.
Just wondering, but what happened to females and the GSL? Marie, Aphrodite, Eve, Miss...aphrodite tried last season but there is no sign of any of them even trying to qualify this season. Are they practicing in the team houses? Are they trying to get into code A and are just not good enough yet? Anyone know?

I agree with what you are saying, but I think they are genuinely trying to bring together other female gamers/sc2 enthusiasts and fans. If there are isolated and marginalised ppl in the starcraft community (maybe not so lucky as your sister), then this thread would be great to bring them tgther or at least open communication with fellow minded sc2ers. I agree that all kinds of attention will rain down on whoever makes a post, but I think they can prolly handle it
This community is great and I really hope it's going to get bigger in the future.
1. Hope the SC2 girls can get more focus so girls gaming gets more popular. It would be nice to bring some fresh air in this too masculine gamers world.
2. I don't see anything wrong in having a community with whoever you like to be with, may it be girls with girls, americans with americans, any reason that can give a group unity (something common).
3. GL to Livinpink, KaluGOSU and the other girls making this community live.
4. TL staff: Please be more severe with repetitive trolls (a permanent ban from this thread would be nice), and less for those who are not that silly.

I dunno. I remember I saw SlayersEve in Blizzard Cup (EDIT: I mean as a spectator of course ) last december. I have not even heard of any girl player in code B actually. And I don't think there is any who has ever played in GSTL neither.
Edit: Hmm, after I finished writing this post, I realized that I just broke the rules stated on top, about gender equality. Can I leave the post in a spoiler or should I remove it completely? It's an answer to whiterabbit's post (so I hope he and possibly other likeminded, reads it). Any mod, feel free to delete it if it's inappropriate, you may cite the reason as "on request" if you like (if you find it inappropriate, of course).
In addition to what KingPwny said, I would encourage you (whiterabbit, that is) to think through the flip side of the argument: How would it be possible to do what GoSC does, without gaining the "advantage" of the attention of the male gamers (an "advantage" that more often than not, it seems, turns into flame wars by people who think the girls shouldn't have that attention).
If they find themselves harassed and want to play with other girls instead, what would be the best thing to do? Well, post on TL.net, because that's a huge hub for SC players, so maybe some of them feel the same way. However, that will also draw the attention of male players, so what to do? Give up that medium because they don't want to grab extra attention? If that were the case, it would be the prejudice of the males which essentially ruined a perfectly proper chance for the girls to reach out to other girls.
If the girls want to set up a tournament for their own group, for whatever reason (be it the same as the reason there are bronze-gold tournaments, local tournaments or whatever), or if the girls want to showcase up-and-coming female players, to show other girls what the scene is like, or to give other girls someone to look up to, what would be the best thing to do? Well, post on TL.net, because that's a huge hub for SC players. However, that will also draw the attention of male players, so what to do? Give up that medium because they don't want to grab extra attention? If that were the case, it would be the prejudice of the males which essentially ruined a perfectly proper chance for the girls to reach out to other girls.
Now, say a girl wants to be a streamer with a webcam, just like countless male counterparts. Shouldn't she just be able to do it? Just like that? Isn't that what the internet is all about, getting to do stuff and reach out to other people who are far away? Should she give up that dream, just because she's a girl and having a webcam would give her extra attention? What if she believes that having a webcam and communicating with her viewers actually raises the quality of the stream. (Would Day9 be the same if it were a radio show inbetween the games?) So does that mean that the girl should produce an inferior product, just because she's a girl? Again, it would be the prejudice of the males which essentially ruined a perfectly proper chance for the girl to make a good stream.
One last example and this time an analogy (and I ask in advance that this analogy not derail the thread, but let's focus on the gist of it here): What if a girl looked really sexy. Huge boobs, nice ass, pretty face, whatever turns you on. What if she wanted to dress like other girls, with tank tops, tight jeans or whatever. This (because the girl was so gorgeous) would give her lots of attention from guys in general. What should she do? Should she give up dressing like other girls just because she's pretty? Should she wear a niqab because she doesn't want to be seen as an attention whore? In that case, again, the prejudice of the males would ruin her personal freedom to wear the clothes she want (including, of course, a niqab if she wishes it). All in the name of not drawing unwanted attention. Personally, I think that's a too high price to pay. And again, let's not derail the thread into an islam/niqab thread, but I felt the analogy is fitting.
So my point is: Given that the girls don't do this just for attention, is there some other way they could have done it, which was equally good? Actually, I don't think so. Sure, there are always attention whores, but judging the entire group on the actions of a few is usually called racism and I'm kind of hoping we could leave that behind.
P.S. Although I didn't mention it, I don't buy your argument about gender neutral nicknames either. It's basically just the same: Limiting your options because of other people's prejudice.

Actually, if one agrees with your sister and says that she's doing the same, she just admits to being a girl thus trying to draw attention. And if she argues that she should be allowed to be open about her gender then she's just an attention whore who rubs it everyone's faces that she's a girl. IT'S A TRAP!
Also with non-gender specific names just everyone (and I mean 99.9%) assumes you're a guy even if your handle is 5exyazzGr1. Being seen as a male might be your default, but it isn't mine. There was a topic about female discount on ticket prizes for guys who want to take their GFs to events - and pay for them - a while back. I was called a 14 year old virgin fag for saying that IMO not every girl wants special treatment (because I don't want to be a second class visitor along with most of the other girls that are actually interested in video games and not just get dragged to events by their BFs) it never even occured to them that I may have any kind of insight on the topic. I was seen as the lonely, forever-alone nerd who hated on guys who had all the chicks.
EDIT: I removed Mindor in my quote, I misunderstood his post.

What's your problem seriously ?? What's the problem if some people who share some common point (being a girl + playing SC2 for instance) and just want to have good fun together gather into a community ?
And even if they were trying to attract the attention on the fact they are actually girls, what's the problem with that ? They want more female gamers in esports and so do I. And I really think that they do need to attract attention for that.
Don't be negative and just enjoy this thread or leave.

This is not a thing where you should find all girl gamers alive playing sc2; this is a place where girls have the option to post to find other girls that have the same intrest; practice and what not. they will only be added into this topic if they please to do so. all these comments off - omg add *insert name here* is anoying me - thats as far as I know not GOSC for.

How did you get involved in BW SC2 ? My husband basically bought the game both for me, our little son and himself. I never really played any RTS before, except short stint in form of Protoss campaign (because of awesome lore). I'd never imagine to become so involved with the game back then, in fact my husband had to beg me a lot to play it with him. These days? I have to beg him to be my practice-dummy, if I need to show him who's dominating in our relationship (laughs)
By which team/player/caster are you most inspired? Team: Definitelly Team SlayerS & Teamliquid. To me, it's not just skill what makes an awesome person to look up to. Team SlayerS has this awesome team-feel, family-feel to them, you can see that breathing right onto you, each time you watch these guys play, stream or even check the photos from their daily life. And Teamliquid? I always perceived them as gentlemen, the Light Side of the Force of StarCraft kind of guys (laughs). Take Sheth, for example. Great personality and player to look up to, and that's just one to mention!
Player: White-Ra & BoxeR - Strong players and also strong personalities. White-ra's never-ending calmness and gentleman's attitude just has me fascinated. His 'More GG, more skill' attitude is just an example of his wisdom, it is truly what I strive to achieve within my own gameplay. That guy could be easily called ZenToss because of how he is able to play and not lose his cool under any circumstances. BoxeR? Do I need to explain that? Really? His never-ending dedication is truly inspiring to me. He is capable player, strong leader and support for his team.
Caster: Definitelly Day[9]. Such genuine person, who always radiates that strong love & passion for StarCraft. Those who get to meet the man are truly lucky individuals, and those who can call him friend are truly blessed.
What would you ultimately like to see the future hold in regards to female players? I'd like the girls to truly devote themselves to StarCraft. To love it and cherish it. To not let anyone to use them as mere source of marketing for their teams. But, for that, they have to practice hard and bite the bullet, as it is said. I've seen all these girls joining pro teams lately, but when you look at it, what do you see? A candy-eye women, who may enjoy StarCraft, but have they trully dedicated themselves to it fully?
Because that's what needs to be done, once a girl decides to accept an invitation from pro team. Only that way, in the future, women will be seen as equals, instead of being seen as mascots & token-women for their respective teams. It is all nice of the pro teams to pick up these women to give them the chance, but it is not fair towards the male audience at all.
As I mentioned it elsewhere, what these teams should do, is to make Academy Teams and accept ANYONE (female or male shouldn't totally matter), give them conditions to be eligible to stay, along with timeframe, such as required games played per week & support their 'Students' in a way that they get a good enviroment for practice (practice partners from the mother-team) & motivation to grow stronger by playing under a banner of a known team. Such initiative would be really great from known teams, it'd not cost them anything, money-wise, they'd get more exposure for themselves & more potential talented players, alongside with helping the growth of StarCraft 2-player base. You want to be a good player? Here is your chance - Come, enlist in our Academy & work your ass off kind of thing.
Why we haven’t seen you in one of the female-only tournaments yet? Actually, I was in the very first one, I believe, during my Bronze days? It’s fading into a blur and I do not remember already. However, as much as I do understand my fellow females, who feel need for female-only tournaments, to make the competition more comfortable and less alien enviroment for them, I feel that female-only tournaments will not allow us, as a minority in the community to properly blend-in, so to speak. We need to try and blend in more, not to try and stand out more. So, if I compete, it’ll be in the regular tournaments, most likely under some unknown name, to avoid insane crazyness, which seems to always pop-up whenever Females & StarCraft appear in the same topic line. (smirks)
What do you do in your time when you are not playing or watching esports? I am a mother to 8-years old boy and wife to imba Terran (laughs), so that does take some time from my day. I also began practicing Karate three months ago, to further work on my physical health as well as help my own mindset in regards to everything I do. In a way, I am hoping that it'll even help me to improve my own mindset in regards of my StarCraft 2 improvement. Besides that, I enjoy drawing, I am avid roleplayer, love sci-fi, Star Wars & reading. Oh, and I continually hate on stereotypes & clichees about females.
How old are you & how long have you been playing BW/SC2? I'm 27 years old, and truth be told, StarCraft 2 is my first RTS I've picked up interest in, not counting already mentioned stint of StarCraft 1 Protoss campaign. So, yes, pretty much a Protoss baby who learns how to walk, hence my StarCraft handle, BabyToss. (grins)
If you could do one thing in regards to BW/SC2, what would you do and why? Unrealistic wishes allowed? Alright. I'd spend couple of months training with Team SlayerS in Korea, dedicating that time solely to work on my StarCraft 2 gameplay, to grow as a player and also to have the honours of meeting the most awesome team in history. All of course in secrecy, I do not like unwanted & undeserved spotlight & shitstorm I’d totally get for that, especially that I am basically a nobody and a female (laughs).
Upon return from Korea, I'd just start streaming, helping fellow players to grow stronger, participate in online tournaments to continue my growth & generally try to entertain & educate the community, as I always feel that once you take something from the community, you should also give back.
Favourite food? Fried chicken legs & rice. Oh, and can't forget mentioning ramen. Love those and could eat them literally every single day! (chuckles)
Why won’t you tell us your league? Because frankly, until I reach Masters, it is totally irrelevant. Sure, you can look up my account, but it will not tell you much, as I do practice on a secret account, which prevents me from outside distractions. I am awfully shy & insecure person in real-life, therefore, I try to adjust myself to that & my own StarCraft régime.
Any last words? Just a special mention & thanks to Ryan Rushia, Rob Feeley, Fraser Bedwell & Julian Zimmermann. They know who they are and why (grins).

Oh? No offense, but judging by the video interview... that's either a guy or a girl with an exceptionally deep and shaky voice.
she's in the official group. The group is open to anyone who identifies as female, so there's a few transgenders in the group.
Also please, before it starts, we dont want to hear anyone's ideas on the matter. We have a system in place. It works and we're happy. No one in the 400+ members has objected. We had a grand old time when Scarlett was doing well at IPL4. It was kind of nice to have a chill place when reddit and TL was going crazy.

Well, I wouldn't say were all happy with it. In any case, it wouldn't matter anyway if those of us who don't agree were to say something because, like you said, we already have a system that's works for the majority in the group.

This is why I don't like to join groups like this, there's always hypocrisy and stuff (well at least you are being honest), being intersex sure makes you an outcast... Maybe there should be a group for girls, other for transgenders and other for the ones with intersex conditions, right?

Go fuck yourselves.
While I don't agree with what TurnipThrowingPeach said, I don't really see any immediate hypocrisy in (I'm assuming) her post...
There's a lot wrong with it, but hypocrisy isn't one of them.
guys, stop harrassing tge girls. if they want scar lett, or not, thats their choice. quit diminishing their achievements with "omg thats only m in korea" they prob dont care.
instead of bashing, support them. we should be a accepting community.

I would love to see Scarlett versus Aphrodite...that would be an amazin' showmatch to watch...
No offense to Aphrodite, but it wouldn't be close. The last time they met, Scarlett took her out 4-0. If they were to have another showmatch, it would be unlikely that Scarlett would drop a game (in my opinion). Scarlett is just that good.

So Scarlett did to Aphrodite what Aphrodite did to Flo then pretty much? I actually just recently got back to watchin' SC2 again so I guess I missed those games
Goodluck! i bumped into one of your team mates yesterday in the "General" chat room on the SEA server, looking for one of her NA friends to come over! i hope she found her! lol

she has an unfair advantage... males are better at starcraft by nature. I realize scarlette identifies as a female and i understand that completely, but her biology offers a clear explanation as to why she is plays this game so well.

Why warn him for this? TL mods can't accept the truth?
Basically it's not a big deal if you do not make it a big deal out of it. This group is so full of love if we explode unicorns and rainbows will start appearing all over xel naga caverns.

Well, since this thread has been resurrected... Hi, I'm a girl and I play sc2. I've been playing for the past 3 or so ladder seasons, so I'm still new-ish, but I enjoy it. A friend convinced me to watch wcs kr 2013 season 1 finals, where I fell in love with zerg and Soulkey, and at that point it was only a matter of time before I picked up the game myself.

Welcome!
I'm a protoss girl. Work and life don't leave much time for me to play games, but also I must confess I invest more time watching tourneys than playing :/ I follow the KR scene mostly so if anyone here wants to share thoughts and cheers for their favourite asian players I'd be glad =)
Question: is there any in-game team or group for us girls? I don't have any girl friends who play sc sadly

Ach, SS! My mistake, pardon me.
The monocle fanciers of Team Liquid are including a fashionable number of women, I am unaware of their starcraft interest level however. Yet, meeting can be attempted.

Only a few campaign games at my friend's house years ago. But I'd definitely enjoy some games with my fellow girls, be it BW or SC2, team or 1v1
I've joined the GoSc group battlenet, ping me whenever you see me online!

Hey girls of starcraft. (sorry if this thing isn't acceptable just lmk)
I have some friends (girls) who are playing league on NA (i know not sc) and they have a ranked 5s team. Atm they are looking for a 5th, (ideally jungle or top i think)
They are mostly around gold - low plat. If anyone has interest in playing with a girls ranked team at that lvl and wants to improve feel free to send me a pm so i can forward you to them.
