Obviously you have to convert kst to est but that sounds easy and fair enough to me.
"I was going to go on that ride but had to go to the bathroom"
"when i came back the line was 30 people long"
"i was totally going to get on that line ask my dad"
"I should be able to cut ahead of everyone"

??? That doesn't even make sense. It's obvious that if I'm posting in the thread that I can't attend because of MLG that I would sign up right then if I could come. He's giving people that signed up but dropped out later the chance to get their spot back, so you're essentially penalizing me for not signing up when I know I can't make it.

And the people who signed up without having the foresight to know they couldn't make it are rewarded by getting to keep their slot just because they didn't confirm the date in advance. And you are saying that it's OK to push people who WERE going to show in the original event lower on the list to allow you to get first dibs on backup list?

Okay, I don't think we should blow this up. I think you guys are misunderstanding each other. We're all reasonable people here with good intentions, I don't think each side needs to be so defensive.
So what pokebunny was trying to say is that there are people who signed up for the original date BUT because the date was changed, a number of people announced they are not sure if they can come to the event. IMO, people who are UNSURE of whether or not they can make it to the changed date, should be pushed down to the backup list because it will discourage players who can actually make it on Saturday because they are not really guaranteed a spot.
But this is how I perceived the situation.

You are assuming everyone in the list is someone like that. What about the majority of the signups who were intending and willing to come to the event and are also comming to the new one. That's the problem I have with that.
You couldn't come you didnt sign up thats the mature thing to do. However now that you can show up because a hurricane canceled the original event does not mean you automatically get into the top of the backup list, ahead of the other 20 some odd people who were gonna show and are still gonna show.

^ well even worse is the OP says that people who dropped out any time before august 27th can now reclaim their spot if they can make the new date. So people who originally signed up and COULD NOT make the original date are being rewarded for the fact that they didn't check the original date, as they now can claim a spot for the new date if they can make it.
|
So give me a signup spot for the time I first posted in the thread stating I was interested but couldn't make the date, because everyone who canceled signups that they couldn't make is getting their spot back? So it makes perfect sense if I get that spot, because that's what is happening with everyone else.

They obviously didn't sign up without the intent on coming. Shit happens and shit comes up. I personally don't think it's alright for them to come back in the same listing but whatever, that's just bad bookkeeping imo.
You are obviously making it seem like they signed up with ill intent.

Obviously they didn't do it on purpose, but they are literally being rewarded for irresponsibility. I didn't say they meant to do it, I said that I deserve the same chance, but apparently I lost that chance because I didn't formally sign up and then go o shit I can't make it.

At this point it's pretty pointless to keep arguing. We are just repeating the same things.
Honestly I didn't even know about the letting prior leaves back on with same spot thing. I think that's ridiculous but whatever. Overall unfair to everyone else.
In the end it's up to Cert and Btway. I can't see them denying this no matter what the issues are, especially cause cert seems to already set that out. IMO bad judgement call on that but whatever.

(┛◉Д◉)┛彡┻━┻ screw the list. I feel like there will always be a spot available that day despite what the list looks like right now. And to me, it's about community and socializing with other lovers of the game and less about winning because we all know each other at this point. And yeah, in the end it's up to certified's decision, whether if it's fair or not, since he's the one making the rules here.

Ah, TLNY drama, I've missed thee.

I had no say in any of this, but it looks like giving people their spots back was a terribad idea. Cancellations should be final even in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as buckets of water.
lol hurricane.
Edit: In unrelated news, the table flipping arcade game in Japan was pretty awesome.

Other people tried it, but I was too busy taking pictures when it specifically had a No Photos sign on the machine :D

but we never get a full bracket anyways, everytime I see like 10 open spots from people who didn't show, and Cert asks if I want to play to which I respond "no".
Anyways I think poke should definitely get a priority spot cuz hes better than everyone at sc2

To put an end to this, everyone should read the OP
apologies for not updating sooner but this event was suppose to take place before classes get in the way of things but that totally didnt happen T.T
