Don't post in this thread to say "gay gamers are like everyone else, why do they have a special thread?" It is something that has been posted numerous times, and this isn't the place for that discussion.

For regular posters, don't quote the trolls.

Saying this as a straight male:

It's been said before that the biological "point" of our lives is to reproduce. Everything else is just a sort of proxy competition to try to see who can impress girls and have the most children.

So in a society where overpopulation is quickly becoming the norm and where because of a high education and literacy rate birth rates are falling like a stone, it's kind of the era of LGBT acceptance, at least in Western culture.

Although they can't reproduce many people also don't plan on it. So why does that make their lifestyle choices invalid? Surely a gay man who has no children and still enjoys his life is just as productive a member of society as a straight one in the same situation.

I do believe that homosexuality is a mixture of genetic predisposition and social conditioning. In a culture like ours where gays are quickly being given rights and becoming a sort of media obsession (think Perez Hilton, fashion designers, FABULOUS people in many T.V. show's and movie) does this then mean that the number of gays will rise as it slowly becomes a "normal" thing? And is that bad or good?

Food for thought.

There is strong evidence that sexual orientation is determined by biological, though not necessarily genetic, factors. I am unaware of any evidence that suggests social pressure in determining sexual orientation, though it is likely a motivator in determining sexual behavior. Based on this evidence, I don't believe public acceptance of gay people will make more people gay, though it will lead to more gay people being openly gay (or bi).

I have a question though.... (I didnt read all 63 pages maybe i'm repeating something)

But here goes, I like she-males, does this make me bisexual? I have a girlfriend and she knows (forgot to erase history lol)...
I don't go out and and actively search for she-males or anyhting, I just watch internet porn.

It comes to this, i like a girls body, a girls vagina, and dicks... but male face or body doesn't to
turn me on at all.

I guess I'd have to try it for real to know for real.

Anyways....

You're probably straight. From what I've heard, most people who watch she-male porn are straight. Basically, transgendered girls ARE girls despite having dicks, so if you're only attracted to girls it doesn't matter whether or not there is a dick. For you to be bi you need to like both guys AND dicks.

i think he meant that even though they are gay, they are capable of making babies just as well as straight people. and they also often do make babies.

hey, a rare and elusive gay. With my first post in here awesome. Mora did a pretty good job at covering a lot with his starting post like.. a year ago, but I just felt like adding in a few extra things. Probably one of the most annoying things right now is as great as it is how being gay is accepted more and more.. A lot of guys think its cool to the fact where they find it funny to act gay. It kind of screws with my mind a lot, in comparison, it would be like 99% of the women being lesbians and them thinking its hilarious to act like guys are attractive. Some of those women you may like but then drop the ball on you months later. (total story of my life have never dated before because of this and am now 21)

I have probably the worst gaydar in the world if such a thing existed.

I'm definitely not flamboyant so a lot of people think i'm straight, until I start talking about guys that is. I'm pretty driven with my career as a concept artist. Uhhh, idra reads off as greasy and sleazy/unattractive, huk is adorable. And yes its funny how many straight guys think they are super attractive

Uhh lets see also the stereotype flamboyant gay is not attractive to me. I rarely meet people like that though, and they seem to end up usually being straight. Also marine king is pretty adorable as well, but asians aren't my type. I also have some psychological barrier thing that keeps me from calling things gay, Whenever I say it people tend to respond "that sounded weird"

Food for thought.

First of all, this response doesn't belong in the thread but it's own separate one.

+ Show Spoiler +
Secondly, your post is really not food for thought but food for the trashcan, no offense. The reason homosexuality in the West is becoming more apparent is because it is becoming more accepted. This trait is found in all types of societies (modern and traditional) in different parts of the world. Not to mention, it is also found in other species in nature. There is most likely an evolutionary mechanism behind it and it has nothing to do with overpopulation. You can search through other threads about this to find out more but your basic knowledge of biology won't suffice in making a good guess as to why homosexuality exists in human populations...

Masamune I don't think you even read 42x10's post correctly. Aside from that, I don't think he even made any strong statements; he just asked some rhetorical questions.

I think he's trying to make the point that as public acceptance increases, the ratio of closet/out gays will change until nearly all gays have 'come out.' He may also be trying to imply that the intuitive spite some have of homosexuals comes from their escape from the proxy competition for mating resources. With overpopulation, an increased acceptance of homosexual behavior might be better for the human race in the long term.

Hey guys. Bisexual male here (though closeted, and not actually coming out about the bi until I'm out of college(at least to my family.)), and I have a question for you, particularly of the gay community...

What are your guys views regarding sex?

I say this because I'm talking to a new LGBTQ community and they tend to all be more open about it and just say sex is something that doesn't mean a TON, that it's something that can be done with close friends. Not one night stands or anything, but if you have a close friend sex isn't out of the question with them, even if you have a partner. the way I see it though.. sex is something that is more sacred, something that really signifies just how close and special you and that other person are with each other, and in this group I'm seeing more people who find it much more like something that's sharing a bond between friends, not lovers.

In a completely seperate note... I'm curious from looking through a survey kind of point, if any of you guys know someone who doesn't fit the general bigender standard? My friend is doing a site, and for the gender question, he has what do you identify as, male, female, and other with a fill in the blank. I think fill in the blank would be the best, but... would there be a less offensive term than other?

Thanks guys.

Edit: fixed some things.
The fox is back.

I think sex is regarded like that by most people in college, regardless what their sexuality is. I have enough friends who ..occasionally use eachother to their benefits. I think gay people are a lot more open to talk about it though, even reading through this thread a lot of things have a sexual undertone which is kinda fun(lol).

I think sex doesn't mean much when it's with a random person and as cheesy as it sounds I do think it's better when you're in a relationship but you have to be lucky to find one in college. There isn't a particular idea behind it being a 'bond' between most teens, it's just something that everyone loves to do and so we do it..

I've also seen stated multiple times in this thread that gay people are more about open relationships which I find well, I don't want to sound harsh but it's quite ridiculous. I wouldn't cheat on my boyfriend, He's my boyfriend for a reason. Not to sleep with him during the night and then fuck someone else the next day. Once you're in a relationship you should stay true to your partner and I'm pretty sure most people would do that if they truly love eachother no matter what sexuality they have. Obviously that's my opinion so don't take it too offensively if you have different beliefs.
