Don't post in this thread to say "gay gamers are like everyone else, why do they have a special thread?" It is something that has been posted numerous times, and this isn't the place for that discussion.
For regular posters, don't quote the trolls. |

You will also notice that in our society, the taboo about female homosexuality is much less strong than about male homosexuality, and, no surprise, there are a much bigger proportion of women than men who would tell you that they have already been attracted by someone of the same sex. Either that or by pretending to be bisexual and hooking up with girls they suddenly attract more attention from guys , especially at parties , bars and nightclubs where the kissing is public.

Yep, that story was pretty awesome

Have not read the entire thread so this may have been discussed before, but it is a response to a lot of the bigots and hateful morons that have populated this thread. There is a growing mountain of evidence that homosexual attraction is due mainly to genetic factors. Scientists have even found the genetic 'switch' in fruit flies that causes homosexual attraction. When the 'fruitless' gene is specifically mutated, the male flies display homosexual behavior. In addition to fruit flies there are countless other animal species who practice some form of homosexuality: List of animals displaying homosexual behavior.
So, in response to the 'it's not natural' claims; apparently it is. The fact of the matter is that all homosexual people were produced in the exact same manner that all heterosexual people were, when an egg and a sperm joined to become a new cell. The combination of genetic material that took place at that instant determined more about the person you would become than any other single event in your conscious life.
Personally, I'm not homosexual. It doesn't make me uncomfortable to talk about it or be around people who are (after all, I don't define my heterosexual friends by who they are currently having sex with). What makes me uncomfortable is when people with very little knowledge decide they need to interject with ignorant and ill-informed comments.
Discriminating against people who are homosexual is just as bad as discriminating against other people (i.e. people of different races, people with disabilities, people with genetic deformities, etc.), they are all the result of mutations in the genetic code at the time of conception.
tl:dr: Homosexuality occurs in the natural world, you and I and every heterosexual person we know were just a few genetic mutations from being homosexuals ourselves. So at the very least, be tolerant.

ugh, please not this again, has been posted a ton of times and argued about incessantly... lets talk about cute guys or glitter or something else distinctly homosexual...
or coming out to people in 1v1's right as you are about to roll into their base with a collosus ball and giggle as they flame and hate on you.

Was both inspirational and sort of depressing, I can relate to it on a lot of things but not the part where the chance encounter leads to a relationship . I had hoped the same type of thing would happen to me eventually but seems unlikely.

So I've read like the 5-6 first pages and found a lot of interesting stuff. Notably the part explaining how kids tending to be "mannered" just decide to embrace it, and that's how we get these fabulous people that a lot of people mock but who seem so proud of who they are
I don't know if you're still around Mora, but I have my personal question to add. (That being said, I would be grateful to whomever with real knowledge about my question takes the time to answer it) So: While it's not systematically easy to spot who's gay and who's not, I do believe gays are way better at it. However, at 21 years old, I've been hitted on by at least 10 dudes, and one of my male friends fell in love with me at some point (he "knew" I was straight but was deeply convinced I was at least bisexual inside). Now I don't consider myself to be unattractive (several girls confirmed it?), but I'm not over-manly nor feminine; and stare at boobs when I can. Furthermore, I don't have the slightest interest in a male body (I even select my porn so I never get to hear the male moaning, an instant un-boner). So I wonder where does it come from ? Especially when half of the dudes looked very surprised by my straightness, but no girl I know ever doubted it. Are there some hidden traits that many gays have and dig ? I would say I'm very polite and quite empathetic, but that's about it... Oh and I always wear jeans with shirt, so nothing spectacular here neither. Oh, while I'm at it, and because it's somewhat related, do you guys like to try turning heterosexuals into homosexuals ? (I'm only asking because some night I woke up with my mate's hand on my dick, and after sending him back to his couch all he could say was "sorry I know you're straight but I can't stop myself from trying" (not to sleep with me, but making me gay))... Would he be fucked up or just your regular sex-hungry dude ?
Many thanks

Lol, nice one, made me laugh. I can imagine even the most tolerant of people would have a fit of sudden homophobia when they have a deathball in their base.

I try not to, but it can be hard. x.x
This post makes me think of myself, and makes me quite optimistic. Of course I went through those trials, and oh lord the time I thought my friend (the same one I had a crush on) might of saw the open 'material'.
I start my first day of University tomorrow in fact, and I have very much the same idea going in. Unfortunately I'm not moving out yet as transits quite viable, but I hope I can be as strong as you going in.

Mora does pop around every so often but the regular gay thread stalkers (myself included) would be happy to give you some insight.
The first main thing that you're asking is basically why do gay guys think you are gay. Without actually seeing you and with your assurances that you're more or less perfectly average (in terms of looks, dress and mannerisms) no one here could give you a definite answer. Some suggestions may be, perhaps you are in a more gay friendly social circle, perhaps by association, if you have gay friends. Maybe you do have some mannerisms that might seem more feminine. Maybe the places you go are popular for gays to visit as well. Any of these could play a role. At the end of the day, it does not really matter. If you're not gay, then enjoy the attention/compliments.
I speak for myself here but as a gay man, I'd never hit on anyone unless I was almost sure they are gay.
As for your friend falling in love with you, it's surprisingly common after coming out. I hope it was not too hard on you. I wouldn't say that there is any one single trait that all gay men like. We, like you, have personal preferences in terms of what we see in other people.
There is no "turn the world" gay cult or anything like that. In terms of your friend... molesting (I guess) you I'd think thats just taking a chance? I'm a bit surprised by a situation like that, partly at his forwardness (Imagine you jumping into a girls bed and fondling her while she slept) and your passivity (Anyone has a right to be angry at anyone for doing something like that).
Are you sure you don't flirt with these men?

I don't know if a reasonable straight-man would think it smart to post a picture in a thread with a bunch of dissecting gay men. If he posts a picture I think we can assume hes 'one of us'.

Lions are the king of the jungle. If Lions decided to be homosexual, their reign as king of the jungle would end in approximately 1 generation.

Sometimes I wish I was gay. It's so hard to find a girl that enjoys gaming as much as I do, or even understands why I enjoy it so much.
For that part, I envy y'all.

Differences are a good thing but respect of those differences is absolutely required regardless of gender. I have never dated a guy who has even played starcraft (or directly participated in any of my other hobbies actually), but the two guys I have fallen in love with both had a profound respect for my independence and commitment to those hobbies.
