2nd game holy fucking shit, went storm mid against clock, at first creepwave hasted rubick + lifestealer shows up even though I'm on our high ground. First blood. Lifestealer shows up again. 0-2-0. Then clock just walks up to me, cogs and Q and i die (even though i had full hp and we were on same level, what the fuck). 0-3-0. I get help from my dark seer friend who is really good and we kill clock, 0-3-1. I die again 0-4-1 and go jungle because what the fuck. Game ends 0-7-1, and then I was like the 2nd best player on our team, our venge died like 11 times in 22 sec, enemy lifestealer had like 600gpm with rapier, weaver and pl on other team won lanes (even though one of them was sololane) becase I think their team just had great teamwork and were above in skill level. I felt really bad afterwards, didn't even play that bad I'm just too mindfucked by having to play only pub games and getting used to how they work (the risks you take), and my teammates was retarded too. No flaming cuz im a nice guy but i was leaning over and having my head on my keyboard for 30sec at one time
3rd game I play beastmaster mid, shit goes pretty ok, I kill bat mid at level 6 (fuck yeah), i got two friends since before playing wisp+tiny combo and two complete retards at slark+lion. Tiny+wisp was pretty ok but could have helped me more (never tp:d to help even though i pinged all the time while being chased for like an entire 30sec). But slark holy cow, I was getting chased for so long and finally got to his tower (where he was standing, like 30% hp). He waited and waited until me and the 2 people chasing me were pretty much under our tower, and THEN he ults, runs away, gets like full hp and is just running around avoiding the enemies. If he would have ulted earlier and went to save me that would have been the easiest shit eu but NOPE ILL JUST WAIT AND THEN OMG PEOPLE SHOW UP IMA GO INVIS HUEHUE
at the end of the game my tiny friend complains about that "i shouldn't have pushed at X point bla bla" and I'm like yeah but you got tiny+wisp teleport you could have helped me so many times and he goes "watch replay to see what you did wrong"
Can't stand people who tells me to go watch replay, i would beat this guy 1v1 15 times over and I started shittalking a little bit, I hope we can play more tonight QQ
I need a team, fucking desperate, what do I gain from playing pubs where the only thing you learn is that you can autohit a tower from 50% hp and kill it because nobody in the opponent team cares, unless it's one of those games where the opponent team is skyping and all of a sudden all game sense you've ever had is gone because the play rules are now completely different
1st game happened to me before. suddenly you realised you have no idea what the hell are you doing. 2nd wtf? you let clockwerk walk up to you as a storm, and cogs you and kills you? And your complaining about others? The first death nothing could be done about it. But the 3rd death.... 3rd is meh. in pubs, just assume no one is going to save you. makes life easier on you. if someone does come and save you, thats a bonus. If no one, well pretty expected.
However you proceed to say things like "i would beat this guy 1v1 15 times over"...which leads me to think your not a teamplayer at all. DOTA is a TEAM game. What has winning another guy 1v1 15times got to do with winning dota games? What does it prove? Nothing. Oh maybe your good at winning the lanes, but your definitely not much of a team player.
what i can tell you right now is that your definitely not as good as you would think you are man...not trying to insult you or anything. Just want you to get another perspective.
MM tries to put you with people that they think you should be playing against/with. From what im reading, your pretty much the same level as them, though probably slightly better.

Seriously, if you have decent ping to US east (I have 130 ms), dont bother playing on EU if you're in the normal/high bracket (i don't know how it is at higher levels maybe it's better on EU).
Agreed. I only ever queue USE now. Massively better experience.

Fucking incredible
Oh god don't tell me that, I've been putting in the hours in practice games to get the hang of controlling Meepo and I think I'm nearly at the point where I want to try it in a pub. X-(

On a related note: people who insta-lock in in SD and call a lane without finding what their allies have.
Last night I played an SD game where my draft was Beastmaster (which I suck at), Tinker and Gyro. So I guess I'm going to be solo mid, right? Wrong. I took a few seconds to contemplate which to pick up and speak to my teammates before picking, but one of my allies instant-locks Zeus and yells for mid.
So I'm left on Beastmaster supporting a DK on suicide lane vs Razor/SK (Hellfire blast plus Static Link really messes you up by the way) whilst Zeus happily steals kills from everyone with his ult. How we won that game I honestly don't know.

From what im reading, your pretty much the same level as them, though probably slightly better. 2nd game vs clockwerk: 1st of all I never see clockwerk in any game since nobody plays him 2nd of all I've never seen him after the buff 3rd of all i've never played against him mid with any hero, ever 4th of all he was the same level as me (lvl 4) when he walked up to me, didn't expect to die instantly to that :/ 5th what the fuck are you going to do against a clock walking up to you as storm you got 350 range anyway, he got kills and early boots (because of kills 1and 2) and can outrun me unless im camping tower 6th of all I blamed myself after dieing for being stupid (led to me having my head in the keyboard even 1-5 proves that it's an understandable mistake) and I didnt blame anybody else, I'm not complaining about others at all that game, this is the QQ thread I'm sad about the game and my performance, I didn't QQ about my team when I died the 3rd time obviously
About the teamgame: My entire post was how pubs are different from "planned" games because of all the teamwork, I don't see how you can accuse me of "not being a teamplayer", I just QQ:ed so much about how people playing with skype can fuck you up (because of teamplay). The reason I called 1v1 mid was because I was just mad he was telling me to play (when I played better than him and is a better player overall than him), can't stand it when he did it in such an agressive manner. Again this is the QQ thread, I'm QQing about that I felt bad that everything went to shit and then I got accused of being bad and then raged, what the fuck
I get a ton of perspectives, but this is the QQ thread. I can find explanations to why this slark played like a fucking moron but again: THIS IS A QQ THREAD, I'm not here to analyze people's behaviour, I'm here to rage about it
And please read my post again, not even half of the QQ i made was about my team being bad but just me having a bad dota day in general, you didn't even understand what I was saying yet you felt so confident in what you were saying that you started ranting about the problems with my post, please read better next time

If you're playing a hero that is very susceptible to ganks (like storm) solo mid, I strongly recommend buying a set of wards with your first 600g and place them to spot for incoming ganks. It's only 150g and makes you almost completely safe vs ganks, since people typically don't bother smoking in pubs, even at the highest level.

@skirmisher like i said. not meant to insult you or anything, just pointing out my opinions. It isn't my fault you've never played against clockwerk before anyway, its your fault for not knowing what every hero does in dota. FYI if a clockwerk walks up to me, i will be careful of cogs. As long as im basically not melee range he cannot walk up & cog you. Imagine a pudge rot range(similar to that range), stay out of it to prevent cogs. There's no excuse for Range being caught in cogs. Only melees can be excused just because sometimes you fked up. Yes you did complain about others i.e the people who didnt save you.
As for you and your friend, i shall not comment further.
Warding:- I am a pretty aggressive warder. my wards are usually placed further up on the enemy team side.
If your on Radiant, i suggest putting them on the left & right side of mid lane, on Dire side of the river that has vision on the side paths & at least one of the ward should be able to look at the rune spot. This should give you advanced warning when people try to walk up the side entrances to mid to try gank you, especially after they get a rune. The wards should also enable you to be able to look at mid lane Dire side of the river.
If your on Dire, put one on the Radiant Ancient spot. Thats one of the best place to place a ward as it allows you to see the rune, the pathway up there to mid and the midlane itself. The other ward i usually place it at the T junction bottom lane, next to the cliff Radiant side, for rune vision & prevents ganks. Also helps to keep ur bottom lane safe as it should spot ganks coming from mid for them. I seldom ward bottom rune cliff(radiant) side because i feel it doesnt give sufficient information on enemy movement. The T-Junction usually works better because it gives vision of most of the essential pathways to mid & bottom and still manages to protect you by giving vision to the pathway up to mid. However i must still point out, warding the rune cliff is definitely an good choice too, its just a matter of preferences. Combination of the Ancient ward & Rune cliff ward should keep Dire mid lane safe easily.
Hope that gives an idea where should you place.

It's my most played hero when I played HoN so I know what he does, but I still miscalculated everything and died to him. I blamed myself 100% for it, and never said anything else. Yes, I complained about others, but that was only a small part of the post, I never blamed others for the 3rd death from clockwerk walking up to me, stop strawmanning me
But thanks for the tips about warding, I feel like warding that bottom lane place as the dire mid player isn't really my job though, I'd rather save that other ward for the first night (6-12min) to ward somewhere mid lane again (depends on the hero), but I do know the spot and it's great for bottom laners to ward there. Hate when the opponent team does it and BAM my gank went to shit lol. Will ward in future as storm spirit/beastmaster/TA noted

This is usually how I ward, though it's obviously very situational. I'm typically more concerned of my teams safe lane (top for dire, bot for radiant), since they can get very close to me and the tower, without being seen, so that's why ward like this almost all the time.
+ Show Spoiler +Dire ward 1: ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/70fnf.jpg) Rune vision and shows opponent high ground. This is the least consistent of the 4 warding spots in my personal opinion, because it leaves you blind to ganks coming from their jungle and bot lane, and if the opponent team is running a trilane or psuedo trilane in their safe lane with two very strong ganking supports (think lina, SK, leshrac, enchantress, chen, ES, sven, and such), you are still very killable with ganks coming from the jungle or bot, so if that is the case, I tend to forfeit rune vision and put it like this instead: ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/ywSaC.jpg) Dire ward 2: ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/P7jA2.jpg) Shows the high ground of your jungle so you have plenty of time to back off when you see someone coming from top Radiant ward 1: ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/xw4W4.jpg) Rune vision and shows opponent high ground Radiant ward 2: ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/XZzqa.jpg) Gives you plenty of vision of your jungle, and will let you know of ganks coming from bot, no matter what route the opponent hero takes through the jungle
These wards should keep you safe MOST of the time, just make sure you get out on the map and place them fairly early before running back to creep block, otherwise you run the risk of dying if the other team decided to check the rune with a lot of their heroes, or something like that.

+1 on SF buying a ward for himself at start (no matter what), learnt that from a teacher in dota1 many years ago.

This game has to be the most depressing to lag in ever. I was watching D2L with no lag and then just as I start playing mid SF my ping goes to 1000, I lose lane horribly and Night Stalker wins the match single handedly.
FML.

Buying yourself wards in mid is almost always a good idea, but it's a must if you're playing against pudge, can't tell you how many times I got hooked because I was to cheap to buy me some wards ^^

I only played it once - even though I had a terrible start and my teammates all shat on me for going SB, going "BH noob gg", I still ended up wrecking faces and carrying my team :D
