I have been getting TERRIBLE players. From 4.3k to 3.950k. MAN. Yeah, in some of the games I'd didn't play up to par, but BOY HAVE I BEEN ROLLING TERRIBLY ON MY TEAMMATES! I just had a game with a riki, safe laner farmer, 13/11/X, who after 40 min was the in the game with the least lasthits. Only diffusal. He complained that the mid didn't gank. NO. FUCK YOU. IT'S TRUE THAT HE DIDN'T GANK, BUT YOU CLEARLY CAN'T LASTHIT FOR SHIT, WHY DO YOU PICK A CARRY!!!=(===!=!?!==!=!

I know the feeling, but you'll get that in any game. Imho, focus on what mistakes you made personally in that game and try to improve off of that. =)

teammates threw today vs a late game jugger dk...We had a TA weaver and cent which you think would be more than enough to handle a jugger dk, right? Well apparently not because TA decides she should rat dota instead all game long. Sigh whatever man its just dota

There is this thing in Dota that I've never experienced in another game. We start the game, play for 15-20 minutes and suddenly someone "has to go" and "we need to finish now"... Then after 5 mins he just leaves. This almost always happens when my team is winning. Today happened 2 times from 6 games (fortunately we managed to win 4v5 in both of them) and usually happens in 1 out of 15 games or something like that. That is actually the most frustrating thing that can happen in the game. Now I'm out of reports because of these guys.
BTW... 8/2/1afk in the placement matches = 2877 rating. Is that low or high I don't fucking know. They seriously should add some kind of an icon(gold,silver,wooden or whatever) that indicates the position in the ladder.

Well if you're comparing to people who go on sites like TL/reddit and are somewhat into the game, then it's "low" for sure. But if you are comparing to all 7 million people that play the game it's above average most likely
I'd say it's like....low/medium gold if we're comparing to SC2 skill levels

Dota's player base is huge compared to SC2 though. I think there's a lot more casual players at the lower end who have almost no idea what they're doing that fill up the bronze and silver mmr spots

And yet we all know that when Valve announced ranked, they gave a distribution of MMRs. In that distribution, 2877 is around 80th percentile. The ranked distribution is obviously different and almost certainly higher, but that doesn't change the fact that the majority of the playerbase sit far below 3k, whether they've seen their number or not.
You would be very surprised how many people play this game, and how truly bad the average player is.

I got Earth Shaker on Random Draft, should have taken Shadow Demon instead. Laned with PA in Dire Offlane, I defer all farm to him, he doesn't take it. Laughs at me when we're losing 25 minutes in that I only have brown boots and a wand.

i hate the fucking retards that give the game up before anything even happend. There wasn't a single fucking 5-man teamfight and my team already gave up. After the game continued for another 5-10 minutes (surprise it wasn't over) the person sitting afk in the fountain decided to feed directly.
Why do you even play if you immediatly give up after your team gets a slight disadvantage? how about go fuck yourself if you don't even try.

For those who are raging against Spanish/Russian speakers in English servers....
I haven't experienced that yet, but in SEA server it's almost equally bad. The thing is, we can't blame language settings either because on the SEA server you have no choice- the ideal SEA player can speak all of the below languages:
1. English
2. Chinese
3. Thai
4. Vietnamese
5. Indonesian
6. Bahasa Melayu
7. Tagalog
8. Weird hybrid English that the Malaysians/Singaporeans have come up with (Manglish/Singlish)
As a Malaysian it's easy enough for me to understand 1, 2, 6 and 8. However, the rest of the languages are about as similar as chocolate and turds.
It's not fun when 1 game I get a thai 4 stack that abuses the microphone, and next game an Indonesian 3 stack+a random viet player. Then they start raging at each other and the only mutually intelligible word they know is usually "fuck" or "noob", so it devolves into mindless mudslinging with a foreign language blaring in my ear.
Sigh, SEA server, what shall I do with you....maybe my dota life will improve when I go for university in the UK come september

I this even real.. 4450 -> 3750, 8 days. Saddest part is my gpm average in these games is decent and I haven't really felt that I've done some huge mistakes, our team just barely loses most matches because 1-2 players have a bad game. I fucking suck I guess.

I really wish I found afk farming fun. I'm not even joking. I honestly wish I found roaming from creep camp to creep camp, just farming away and not helping out my team, incredibly fulfilling.
Then I could just join a game, mute everyone, listen to a frasier episode in the background, and not have to worry about trying to play as a team.
People really seem to underestimate synergy. Look at your teammates. Then look at the other team. Then pick your support/carry/initiator/etc.

Welcome to my life/what I thought to be personal hell.
Thankfully I got a team who respected that I called safelane Drow last night and I actually had a bad ass support Lich who know what he was doing.
Thing that sucks is I still have to deal with "#YOLO" 4-stacks who grab blink daggers first because(on heros like CM/Enchantress) and expect it to go well. Still 2 days later and a couple of heros done in my 10 hero challenge and I am still pissed off about it.

Nonono, what they did was farm Huskar for 25 fucking minutes. He even built a motherfucking URN ! Didn't have a single charge on it for the first 20 minutes though. Apparently it was my fault ( DK ). Oh well...

Not much you can do unfortunately. It happened to me too and since I went down from around 4.5k to 3.8k I started playing less and less games. It's just depressing.
