lag spike after cyber core finishes

i have no clue why, but my game lags ALWAYS after the cyber core finishes for like 2-3 secs, and only the cybercore. other buildings are okay. temperatures are ok, cpu is on 10% or something.

specs:
GTX 670
i7 3770
16 gb ram

Might need more specs than that; possibly even brands but I'm not an expert. Have you tried playing other races? Reinstalling SC2? Formatting Windows?

Lots of people have had this problem, me included, but I've never read the reason anywhere so far. :/
It happens to me every 2 or 3 games.

Edit : Threads on battle.net forums from people having this issue give the advice to use the "repair tool". It seemed to have worked for some people, I guess I should try this.

Yep I have that too. Every first game after startup of SC2. I can even notice how fast the core of my opponent finishes if it lags before mine is done which can be quite an advantage in the game. I thought the repair tool was gone long time ago?

Since I had this problem on my old system too and I switched everything except my gfx card it must be that I guess. I have a XFX 5870. Since OP is an other one I assume it has to do with a specific shader model or sth they have in common.

I get the same thing so now I always run the preloader and it fixes it.

either put the game files on a SSD or just run the preloader so that all the textures/animations get loaded into RAM.

have SSD m4 crucial 128 6gb and still have this problem ;(

When I think, how can this problem be happening.. It seems that the cybercore animation is causing the issue (no shit right?).. That being said, there's probably corruption in the file for the animation, or a different file that's responsible for loading it. I would run the repair thing, or just redownload and reinstall a fresh installation of Starcraft 2. You want to use the preloader even if you don't have this problem, so I would reinstall anyway if it's dependent on it, just because something isn't right.
