I decided to create a new thread for this, and will update this every time a new patch comes out, because both of the previous relocalizer threads have been out of date, which caused some confusion.
Step 2: Extract Extract file into Starcraft II/Support/ of a patched up to date Starcraft 2 installation of the language you wish to use. You should now have a folder called "Relocaliser_1.4.3"
Step 3: Run Script Run "relocalize.bat".
If you only have one language installed and have not used the tool yet, choose "Relocalize a locale" (Option 1) for your mode. If you have multiple locales already installed (by running the Relocalizer or manually copying the locale files from another install) you may choose "Switch between installed locales" (Option 2) to quickly switch between them.
Your Source Language is the INSTALLED language you wish to relocalize for another region. Example: If you want to use the English (US) client on the Latin American servers, choose "enUS"
Your Target Language is a language in the region in which you wish to play. Since not everything is relocalized yet, if your region has multiple languages listed, choose the language you prefer for non-English content. Example: If you want to use the English (US) client on the Latin American servers, choose "ptBR" or "esMX".
Erm...Is the KR client not patched up yet? I patch up fully (I can launch into the client with KR locale) and then switch to enUS, but I need to patch again = error.

I'm unable to patch. I've been playing with the taiwan client relocalized to english, I got the new relocalizer version that you linked in this thread but keep getting an error while patching the client.

I had KR client playing on enUS. For patch I changed back to krKR, then patched. then ran relocalizer to enUS. When I tried to run it, it tried to patch again and produce an error.
On November 10 2011 14:43 landaishan wrote: vodanh: just restore your original backup and patch then relocalize
This did indeed work, and I guess i did have a backup copy folder just for patches. This did successfuly patch koKR to enUS region. Before after the first few lines of the patching command from the reclocalizer it crashed unable to patch one of the files, if you closed that error it continued but did not work successfuly.
This one is much more complete in the sense that all the menues from the moment you load is in korean. I rather liked having my txt in english still and the voices in korean. Even when the login and bnet menu was in english once you joined game all txt is korean as well.
I have NA client and use a TW account as well. Is there a way to use KR client using the TW login? I tried to relocalizr from ENUS to KR but get language pack message
I got a problem i am trying to relocalize koKR into enUS to play the NA servers in korean. and i choose my source language as koKR and my target language as enUS. when i try to login it still appears in english what shuld i do

Say u want to play on US server, but use KR language... 1) Download and install the Korean client. 2) Relocalize the Korean client to the US server.
Source would be KR / Target US.
That's completely wrong.
To everyone that had trouble, did you try to use an outdated version before this? And did you try option 3, clean install?
Hey I'm not entirely sure what this program does. Basically I wanted to play on KR cause I'm learning Korean, so I got a TW account and now I want to switch the written and spoken languages to Korean. Is this the program I'm looking for? Or does it do more than change the Language of the client

This program relocalizes the client, which makes you play on the Korean server.
I believe there's specific threads with tutorials on how to change the language of your game client. Both voice-acting and text.
To everyone that has an issue using this program; I am unsure of a fix since it has never happened to me before. I simply updated the program from the other thread. If you had a problem and fixed it, please let us know how you did.
Anyone knows if its posible to play in the NA using a LA client?, just gifted a NA account to a friend but give her a LA instalation disc D:
I know the servers are now 1, and I have no problem changing regions when I enter from my US client, but I don't know if it works the other way around.

I don't think anyone has tried this before... just backup your original sc2 folder, and try it yourself. Please tell us your results ^^
This was the error I was recieving after running the program. I found that if I run clean install (3) then reset source language to original (TW for me) then reopen SC2 it works again. Just wanted to post this here in case anyone else was having the same issue.
Is this working for anyone? I haven't had a problem with relocalization in a long time now that I've known how to change the patch numbers within the relocalize.bat file. However, when I switch to TW client, it tries to download patch 1.4.2 even though I have it installed on enUS... if i switch back to enUS i now get a prompt to patch even though I have the latest patch. if i open sc2switcher i can get sc2 to run fine but under TW sc2switcher loads sc2 then it closes to patch... any ideas?

I seem to be having the same problem. Anyone having any luck?
I'm having issues being able to have a US and EU client at the same time. One will always override the other when I download it even if I have one on my regular hard drive and the other on an external. Has anyone had this issue or know what I could do to fix it?
Hi all. I get error msg of You need an authorized language when I try to log in. From what I have seen it has something to do with clock. I have snc it online so I know it is on right time and date.
I used this program to change from EU to NA but after hours of working on this I am at a lost. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Ok. On page 2 there is a SS of someone that speaks / reads / Knows TW. I am hoping that the SS was of the same error as the one I am posting about. If so I am going to try what they said about leaving the language set to GB and server to US..
Ok. It has worked. Full run down on what I have done just incase someone else goes though this.
1) I did fresh install. { This was to make sure of no left over files ) 2) I installed the game and before I started to install the patch I ran Relocaliser 1.4.2 and used option 3 3) Installed the stand alone patch 1.42 4) I ran Relocaliser 1.4.2 leaving it with GB language and setting the server to NA
I just tried this, it keeps going un-responsive every window and has to close, seems like it's broken or I'm doing something way wrong. I'm trying to use my Taiwanese client with Korean sounds/text, is that possible?
Every time I try to relocalize enGB -> koKR, it stops at "Patching Battle.net\..." and doesn't continue. Already tried reinstalling twice, but still get this error.

Make sure you are choosing the correct Origin and Destination servers. So the first time you should choose: Y -> Option 1 -> 134 -> 127 It does take some time for it to patch. Then every time you want to go back and forth, you can choose option 2 and simply go back to 134 and back again to 127 as you please.
A question from me, will we not be able to switch servers after it's SC2 is patched until an updated version of this comes out? I will need to preemptively decide which server I want to stay on for a little while, not sure how much work is involved in updating a tool like this.

No worries, updating this tool is really easily, I'll make sure to update this when the new patch comes out. Thanks for reminding me
As ALWAYS when there is an update, you must modify the relocalizer. So STEP BY STEP OH BABY:
1. Update to the latest patch 2. Download the relocalizer that is in this post. Before relocalizing, right click on the relocalize.bat file thats in the folder and press edit. 3. Search until you see a text line thats a lot of numbers one following another like this. SET VERSIONS=15405 16561 16605 16755 16939 17326 18092 18317 18574 18701 19132 19269 19679 19776 20141 21029 If you notice, this numbers are the same as the folder names in your starcraftII/versions folder. The number in black is the latest version that you have to add to the notepad. Then just save and close and relocalize like you always do. This worked for me. 4. Do this every time there is a new patch. That is all Maybe someone can upload the modified relocalizer.bat file, but not me, 2 lazy :D . Chao

I am trying to switch back to the US client. Switching back is fine but a problem that I am having is that in the login screen all the buttons dont have anything in them. Like for example: I cant see the text of the buttons, but I can click on them. Like the quit button doesnt have the word "quit" but i can click on it. I can play the game but just cant see any of the text which annoys me
In the relocalize i chose: 1) relocalize a locale 2) 124 for enUS 3) 124 for enUS

Yes, you are choosing the wrong option. Basically, your step 2 is asking for "Source language" which is the client that you are using now that you want to be switched. Step 3 asks for "Target Language" so you are doing that correctly since you want to change back to the US client, which is 124.
So the problem is that you have both set to 124, telling the bat file to relocalize a US Client into a US Client.
Oh and also, I got the file updated. Thanks Ihsahn for covering me for a day.

That is Chinese. o.o
There is not only Chinese... Have a look at 134.
I'm wondering about the newest version, since most of the things were translated into Hangul, but now with 1.4.3 many parts aren't translated yet. Seems weird to me, cause it's stuff like "You don't have enough minerals." or the layout for the 1v1 screen. Those things shouldn't have changed, so why is that all gone missing? Or am I not understanding something? It's obvious that it's not working because of the missing files but how do I fix that? >.> (Or did I even do something completely wrong? XD)

Sorry, I'm sure this has been addressed but I haven't found it.
I play on the US server and wanted to play with Spanish voices, text, and interface. Is this possible without the authorized language or am I able with this mod. When I tried it, it gave me Spanish interface but not in-game voice and text.
I dont know if its the right way, but when i relocalized for Taiwan, i had to run the Starcraft Repair.exe in the Support folder. I think it downloads the missing sound files. But be sure, to run the relocalizer afterwards one more time.

You mean the game is still in Taiwanese? Or game doesn't run? You aren't very specific. "it doesnt work this time!" , makes me confused. Text always mucks up.

But it's perfectly working. Now, this is confusing but.. HOORAY~
It is not working for me, and another bug that happens is that when it is patching, several windows saying "Ladik's MPQ Editor has stopped working" show up. I would really like to use this, but I have been getting this problem for over a week.
So what really is unclear for me (I searched everywhere, didnt find anything). Do I need 2 Accounts for this or can I use it like this:
I have an EU Account but I want CN Language (including the writing NOT JUST AUDIO). So I download the CN Client, installed it and patched it to 1.4.3.
Now I put the Folder into the Support folder of my enGB SC2 Installation (Programm (x86)/Starcraft2/Support) and start relocalizer.bat.
I choose option 1, use Source enGB, and Target zhCN and then start. Now when I try to start the enGB Client it trys to patch with everything being chinese. But it stops at 14 %.
With this error: 升级文件"zhCN\Campaigns\Liberty.SC2Campaign\zhCN.SC2Assets\Assets\Textures\video_newsreport_thorner01_00.event"无法安装。 (MD5 mismatch: expected 0xF086540B8C6C86674CF7419571523FD2, actual 0xD41D8CD98F00B204E9800998ECF8427E.)(PTCApply_BSDiff failed.) 如果这个问题仍然存在,您可能需要运行修复工具或者重新安装游戏以解决它。如果您无法解决这个问题,则请联系我们的技术支持部门。 (BNUpdate:TCApply)
Then I try to use Option 3. It ask me for source language and I press 136 zhCH. Then it does something till its finished.
But now it still doesnt work. What shall I do?
(Whats weird is that I only get Source Language on Option 1 and 2. The only time it ask me for Target Language is in Option 3
I was trying to relocalize my koKR client into zhCN so that I can play Chinese server in Korean, but the cmd screen is stuck in 'patching battle.net\...'
what is wrong with this? any solution? The Korean client was fully patched, then untouched before relocalizing.
and why does readme.txt says that it is for patch 1.3.4? and the relocalize.bat cmd screen says 0.15?

You need to choose the zhTW version, to play on kr/tw server, don't relocalize to the mainland chinese server. You probably don't have an account there + that explains why you get wrong version, relocalizer probably hasn't been edited for chinese server.
Just stick to changing from koKR to zhTW. But I got to tell you, I had major problems with this patch 1.4.3, after countless reinstalls, on multible computers, I just went back to Bigfoot.
Edit: I didnt realize, you might want to play on CN server and not KR.. sorry for confusion on my part.
Try right clicking on .bat file, and edit ctrl+f search for versions, scroll a bit down, and you see the chinese versions update, under the other ones. should add new patch numbers there aswell, that could be your problem. (if you really want to play on CN server with kr client)

Ensure you extracted the zip into \StarCraft II\Support\ so the path of the relocalizer is \StarCraft II\Support\Relocaliser_1.4.3\relocalize.bat

Where does it come from ?
Thanks
EDIT : Have the same in europe ( reinstall the game was the solution, any other alternative ? )
Same problem
Anyone know a fix?
The only way for me, it was to reinstall all the game :/
Yep. This happens when you forget to do a clean right before opening the patch client. Sucks but there isn't much you can do about it.
What I do is copy my original Installation into a new folder in program files and patch that copied client. It means that I get two clients for each separate region I want to go on and if this happens to my relocalised cloned client I can just delete the contents of my second copy of starcraft, recopy the current starcraft folder data into the new folder and relocalise again with the latest version. Much easier than having to reinstall starcraft every time a new patch comes out.

the thing is that I did run the clean thingy... I don't think it is working as intended... it stopped working a number of patches ago.
Can someone please update the clean install option of the relocalizer?
I tried to relocalize my zhTW client to ruRU, but I don't want it any more I am running blizzard repair right now, which is repairing both ruRU and zhTW clients, which concerns me. What should I do to revert back to zhTW?
Edit: OK I ran option 3 and reverted back to the original client. But blizzard repair still opens both ruRU and zhTW. Anyone having this problem|?
ok update on my last post, I fixed the problem a little. Some of the text are in english, some are still in taiwanese. The voice is still in taiwanese. What am I doing wrong here?
I need help, I just registered and I can't post for 3 days so I'M sorry for barging in, ok so I recovered my original starcraft 2 wol from my uncle after one year of not playing it(don't ask) and till my uncle had it I was playing the starter edition...and here comes the problem, when I installed the original, at login screen it says to upgrade and everything is locked exept 2v2 and terran race... you know the usual stuff... before i installed the original, yes i did uninstall the starter edition, i removed everything from registryes and leftovers...and it's still there somehow by some files, that are linked to starter edition that are blocking my original full play. Creating a thread with my message would be helpfull I don't think that someone will look at this anyway. And if you did thx, help will be f appreciated. Bless you
So I just switched from enUS to deDE and it is prompting me to create a new user tag and upgrade my starter edition. Does this mean that it actually switched my client to the EU server? If so, is it possible to stay on the NA server but still play the game in German?
Is there a new version post-patch b/c of this new Korean law? When I switch from US to EU the patch starts (which I'm pretty sure its not supposed to...?) and then freezes at 100% without letting me into the game. Am I alone in this?
The link above. No need to redownload, my old version will update itself next time you launch it, new files uploaded to server, program should automatically detect changes, and should say 144 instead of 143b now,
Thank you for updating it! I do see that I have version 144, I run the "clean starcraft for patch" to put my locale back in my origin (enUS) and receive this error after entering login info:
"You need an authorized language pack from Blizzard Entertainment to use this language."

Help?
Clean your version (option 3), then run SC2 and wait for the update, finally, relocalize again (option 1).

any tips? :-|
make sure the relocaliser isn't within a nested folder ie support - > relocaliser -> relocaliser - > then actual files. then clean for patch, almost 100% sure that should fix it
support - > relocaliser -> then actual files is what it requires.

as others have said, run option 3 (clean install) instead of relocalizing back to your original version. After clean install you should be able to patch, then relocalize to the desired language and patch again. (I literally JUST did this too)
since I don't wanna see my updates crashed again almost every time there's a new patch x') I'm asking you before, do we need 1.5 relocalizer? is it out?
i just updated to 1.5.0. My source lang is esMX, after update it turned to enUS, now i got the msg "You need an authorized language pack from Blizzard entertainment to use this language" T_T

Not that I know if the relocalizor even still works, but make sure enUS is the language set for TWO lines in variables.txt, to fix this error
Actually with 1.5 patch you can have diferent audio and diferent text at the same time, for example my account is for LA America, so "i can't" play the game with an enUS client.
But with 1.5 patch you can change this, first of all i've installed the enUS client and updated to 1.5 patch, then i went to Documents/Starcraft II/Variables.txt and i changed the following lines
localeidassets=enUS localeiddata=enUS
TO
localeidassets=enUS localeiddata=esMX
save the file and open the game, the downloader will reorganize all the files and it will download something (i don't know what) now i have the game with english audio and LA spanish text
i think we can easily all get language from countries on the same server we got the client... by just changing theses variables... but what about getting language outside of NA if we got an "NA client" and et cetera?
Yes I was just wondering about this. I currently have installed a SEA (i.e. SEA and NA server access, English UI) client installed, but I would very much like to run a Korean client (on SEA and NA servers) or use my SEA client with a Korean UI. Is this possible yet?
