Hello, like the title says I'm looking for a new pair of headphones.

The ones I had finally died, the mic still works but the speakers are no longer with us. RIP 20 dollar logitech headphones you shall be missed.

I'd prefer a pair of USB ones if possible. Also, I'd prefer to buy from a company that sponsors SC2 if possible. I don't mind investing a larger sum into these headphones, since I'm hoping whatever is suggested will last a while.

One main problem I have is that most pairs of headsets have been uncomfortable that I've tried on. I guess I have a big head or something, most pairs fit, but after a few minutes become uncomfortable.

From everything I've heard, the steelseries headphones you see everyone wearing are comfortable, but to my knowledge they don't have a microphone, and looking at them on newegg, the pictures don't show a mic.

The SC2 headphones seem to not be worth the money. I know you're paying a premium to have it say SC2 on it, but if they are good I wouldn't mind paying extra. I've heard the sound quality isn't that great.

As of now, these are the two I'm considering, but I'd love to get some input from people here. Having people say " I use xxx and it works great with sc2! " means more to me then some reviewer talking about his experience with the headset since I don't know if he uses them for sc2!

Thank you in advance~

....if you wanna go light and don't want to mess up your hair or get hot-headed you can get a pair of earbuds and a clip-on mic!

I currently have the g35 and I wouldn't recommend it. The ear pads outer covering has torn apart and the cable is so tangled and impossible to untangle. Also at the headset end the cable has almost snapped off.

I don't throw my headset around or anything this is just from general usage. Probably more care was taken that a lot of people aswell. Bad quality generic 'gaming' branded headset pretty much the staple of most Logitech gear. (I say this while typing on a logitech keyboard, using a logitech mouse and with logitech speakers. Should really take my own advice and stop buying logitech)

The 3 buttons on the headset are really useful though.

Comfort wise they are quite good aswell but again not very high quality.

There is a Steelseries with a (pull out) Mic:

http://shop.steelseries.com/us/index.php/audio-us/steelseries-siberia-v2-full-size-headset-usb.html

I have these, and I find that they are very comfortable. Their only downside is that they do mess up my hair such that it leaves a nice headband indent.

On that note, I am trying to return/replace/RMA mine because the right earpiece went quiet after almost a year. I am not sure how often this happens to other people, so keep asking for opinions.

If you really want something with a microphone like that and not a clip-on or inline microphone:

Beyerdynamic MMX 2 ($80). It's a lightweight supraaural (on-ear) closed headset with adjustable microphone and packaged USB sound card.

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/580472-REG/Beyerdynamic_485896_MMX_2_Digital_Gaming.html

As far as I can tell, the build quality is solid. The whole construction is just one solid-feeling hard plastic piece with an elastic headband that sits on the head. Actually, I haven't used the MMX 2 persay, but I'm familiar with Beyerdynamic's DT 235 ($55), which is pretty much the same thing but with no microphone and no USB sound card. Sound quality is decent for that kind of price ($55), well-balanced except a little quiet in sub bass, like 60 Hz and below.

In general you can expect to get ripped off by gaming brands and gaming products, because those are targeted at a dumb consumer base that's often willing to pay far more than something is worth. If you're buying an audio product, buy it from a manufacturer that makes real audio equipment, like studio gear, microphones, broadcasting headsets, studio headphones, and so on.

Instead of the G35s, you can go for the G930s, same exact thing, but wireless. Pretty stable, has good range, and rarely disconnects for me. (Only when I go out of range or random bursts in wireless connection.)

I currently am considering buying one of these for me: http://www.monsterearphonesbeat.com/Beats-By-Dr.Dre-Studio-High-Definition-Powered-Isolation-Headphones-White-p11.html

Most confortable and high quality headphones I've ever wore. They don't come with a mic, though. But I wouldn't really mind using a separated mic on my desk with one of these bad boys.
