If I see you post bad / unrelated advice or it's obvious you are clueless as to what you are talking about, you will be banned from this forum permanently.

That is all.

Thank god!

Jingle I think this will be good for your blood pressure. I've enjoyed reading these forums ever since you and skyr and myrm helped me with my build but the level of idiocy you guys have to deal with is mindblowing sometimes. Btw enjoyed the tech support hall of shame, thanks for all the good tech advice you give out.

Blood pressure aside, it did generate some amusing conversation points, as my wife and dad both work IT, and most of my friends are geeks too.

Thanks R1CH, while I was lurking it seemed like every other post would consist of a 14 year old trying to describe things they're unable to comprehend.

But if you reformat, you can get rid of the ban, right?

Well, I bet if you tell someone that their page file is as fast as their memory, you can test that for us

Huzzah! If this is the case, I will start reporting bad advice. I suppose I could have before, but I never really figured it would get moderated.

I'm absolutely not going to miss having the insane portions of my brain (all of them) applying the voice of Hammy the squirrel from Over the Hedge to everything S.O.U.L types...

And thinking about it, this probably does even more for my odds of not getting in trouble for errr... colorfully vehement rhetoric... than it does for my blood pressure.

Let's hope it does, if it's truly preference vs logic, like 99% of those arguments.

If the bad advice stays, a triple reformat should definitely do the trick.

Triple reformat? No. Go into the BIOS and set your CPU BCLK to 300 and set the multiplier to 50. Then run Prime95 for 24 hours.

Higher multi isn't always better ( 80mhz x 50 and 266.6mhz x 15 ), you'd have a 80x4 bus vs a 266.6x4 bus

things like telling a blonde her computer is dirty and she needs to clean it. So, she manages to cram the entire thing into the dishwasher to clean the computer. Then she yells at you and says you gave her bad advice....

Is today just a slow day, or has this actually had some sort of effect? Seems like the signal/noise ratio is better in the handful of threads today. Less answers in most of them, but seeing as 80+% of the answers people usually get are somewhere between stupid and chernobyl, that's probably an improvement.

SC2 Strat has the Purge. This is much more needed, and yet much gentler.

SC2 Strat forum can't start electrical fires and cost hundreds of dollars.

Seriously though, encasing your PC in Jello can deaden the sound, and increase performance by at least 1.21 jiggawatts.

Well, if all you're worried about is quiet, just throw it in the swimming pool. Never hear the bloody thing again. Concrete also works fairly well.

This thing really should be sticky otherwise it might get forgotten/won't be noticed by new posters, which only means additional trouble for everybody else.

Don't like the idea of permanent bans, but at least there is moderation. You need to define bad advice, you can't just say an advice is bad just because it is out of your budget or you do not like it. Some people like to be fancy and have an i7, and some just don't like Intel at all. Bad advice would be inaccurate and false information, which should result in a ban. On the other side, "unagreeable" advice should just be marked as bad advice/Warning.

I dont think there needs to be any sort of definition of bad advice.

If you dont know what the fuck you are posting, it is bad advice; and doesn't belong in the tech forums.

I guess we just hope, for the good of the forum, that they don't judge opinions they don't personally agree with as "bad advice".
