I had tl as my homepage for the longest time, until they started spoiling events with spoiler tags not working.
It's a shame tl is way superior to reddit where you get trained in having memory like a gold fish. If the comment is older than 3 days, I won't even bother.
I can't bother with twitch with their ads going against even the creators, and a culture of treating chatters like dirt.
Youtube is the place to be and if sc2 content makers started doing better content rather than boring face on screen for too long sc2 would do better. Just see Grubby. Harstem is probably the best sc2 example. But as we saw in his video ladder is not doing too hot right now.

8 worker was starting to ramp up but then they reverted it back to what killed it in the first place.
play sc2 in sc1 queues yuppp, people were saying the worker change was killing the game, things don't look better even with the revert. People just don't want to play SC2 anymore is what I'm noticing. We need a SC3 or it will be back to BW.
doesn't bother me personally, shield battery came out with a ladder that i've been wanting for 30 years.

As for lack of SC2 streams, yeah SC2 streams aren't doing hot (for lots of reasons) but one factor is certainly that there's been few people added to the featured list in the first place. For instance, Strange is streaming SC2 right now, but he's not a featured streamer. There's not really a pipeline of "growing SC2 streamer " -> featured. It’d be great if you or others could share a list of quality SC2 streamers who should be more noticed on the sidebar. I see no reason why we don’t consider new candidates.

There are still some users who us tl.net as a hub for viewership, but as per my analytics it's pretty much non-existent, same for streamers like puck or special. It doesn't really drive viewership the way it used to unfortunately.

I think what is also totally interesting (for me ) is in general how the forums stats look like...I dont even know how long i m here, but i guess most of us a bunch of old people :D

Don't have a list on me but at least online atm I see Hinosc and Arrogfire, both very good players (no clue what criteria is used these days). I remember back when I started, where one of the ways was qualifying for WCS Challenger, eons ago...

I remember back in the day, the only reason I found out about Team liquid was because my cousin mentioned his friend once talked about it, otherwise I would have never found it. IMO TL way better than reddit for SC.

If things would be how it is used to be, community news wouldnt be full of tiny sc2 tournaments with a 400 dollar prize pool. Daily proleague gets 10k a day, K-league 5k a day. Not even counting the university leagues that attract by far the most money. Yet I see it spammed full of unimportant sc2 tournaments.
Right now, SC2 is approaching AOE1 (not 2!) numbers in viewership.
If things are going back to how they used to be, SC2 should be in 'other games' given the dwindling importance and interest, among general RTS.

AGAIN, the idea of the thread (tldr) is that "new" low viewer streamers do not choose to come on team liquid to be a part of the crowd of rts lovers which tl definetly is!
Make tl great back in spite of tl?
do able !

You'll get a popup like this to disable SC2 if you want: + Show Spoiler [Screenshot] + There's also https://tl.net/mytlnet/leftsidebar.php to customize the left sidebar. I don't see Wax's weekly review of SC2 tournaments as spam. I think people interested in Brood War esports will check the Brood War "Tourneys" section, and anybody is free to make threads for University leagues in that section.

Honestly have never paid attention to streams on TL outside of events. Always have just used it as a news/results/announcements hub.
The only streams I'd ever click on are Korean BW streams I would never come across anyway and 95% of the time they're never playing. It's usually always UMS, obs, or react content.

exactly the same for me, with a small difference that whenever I click a Korean BW stream there is always someone eating something, or someone in the background is eating something, that is mighty curious
