ESL Open Week #202: Dark, Clem, MaxPax win

TL.net ESPORTS 4 Posts November 22 2023 08:24 GMT #1 2022-23 ESL Pro Tour - Open Cups: Week #202 (November 20th) by Wax Week #202 of the ESL Open Cups began with Dark winning on the Korean server, taking out Ryung, NightMare, Solar, and ByuN on his way to his 39th total cup win (all servers). The EU server competition saw Clem win for the third week straight, defeating MaxPax 3-1 in a repeat of last week's final. It has now been 16 weeks since a player other than Clem or MaxPax has won the EU cup (SKillous won in Week #186). The Americas cup concluded with MaxPax winning for the second week in a row, but against a completely unexpected finals opponent in Firefly. The Chinese Protoss player went on a tremendous run where he defeated Creator, GuMiho, and ByuN, only to barely lose 2-3 to MaxPax in the finals. In the non-ESL Cups, Solar won Kung Fu Cup Winter #8 (3-1 vs Clem in the finals), while Cure won KSL #35 (3-2 vs herO).
