nice seeing Artosis and Tasteless in Katowice, sad not having Demuslim there though but will be a great event either way !
|
Amazing to have Tastosis there. After the past few years I honestly thought they might be blacklisted from ESL events for not worshipping EU players.

So excited to bring one of the side streams! We got so many good games last year (and the official Ryung hype train!) What will 2023 bring?

I'm guessing... Zergs?

There are Golden League qualifiers for AoE IV on that exact weekend I believe, so I assume he will focus on that...biggest AoE IV tourney there is right now (aka. the only one worth mentioning^^)
Hyped to see Tastosis, I honestly didn't think we would see them again in a SC2 tournament. Maybe just their last right or I'm completly wrong, which would be cool.

Nice lineup though, hopefully we'll get some, uh, species variety.

Oh, hype! Nobody can bring energy to a cast like Tasteless. Very excited about all of the talent!

Biggest month of SC2 in years tbh

Ah that would explain it, thanks

Damn i screwed up. Girlfriend 3 weeks ago was like we can go to Poland or we can go to Portugal and I'm like idgaf. So today I'm like where even is Katowice and now my ignorant NA ass regrets my decision. Arriving in Portugal February 7th when I could have picked there T_T feelbad
Oh well I'll go back to Korea and see Tastless + Someone eventually. Makes me wonder if this could be the last of tastosis?

Hell yeah on the Tastosis reuniting at last

Bout time they returned. No one brings the hype like tastosis. It's like not having serral in the tournament they are the GOATS

feardragon, Zombiegrub, Wardi
Why, oh Why ?
I have utmost respect to each of them as ambassadors of SC2-scene, but imo they are bit boring to listen to as casters.
Where are Maynarde, Nathanias, Demuslim or Tod ? Casting team feels lackluster without their hype and banter. Finals without Maynarde hyping them up with his incredible voice, or any cast without Rotti roasting Nate/Tod just feels wrong.
Bring the OG-gang back pls.

Being a caster must be depressing, there's always someone upset that you've been hired to cast a major event and not their personal favourite caster (and it is a very person specific thing, considering I've seen people suggest different casters dropped to include some of the ones you listed...)
I really enjoy the casting of all three of those guys and I'm really glad they're going to be at Katowice, and wouldn't trade any of them for set you've listed (although I do also enjoy listening to casts featuring them).
I'd also note that they all perform much better when casting a huge event with a co-caster from a studio, where the players are playing for large amounts of money and prestige than they do when solo casting ESL cups or small tournaments for 5 hours straight, which is completely to be expected.
Being upset that your favourite caster isn't going to be there makes sense, but publicly wishing other casters weren't there just seems a bit tastleless (no pun intended...)

ToD, Nate and Maynarde did not do an offline event this year. Nate wasn't even in Atlanta. I don't know the specific reason, but maybe they just have different priorities? Isn't ToD also heavily involved in WC3 for example? And I know that Nate has announced a few years back that he wants to take it easier after he had a year that was so full of broadcasts it affected him. As for Demuslim, as mentioned, he probably focuses on Golden League in AoE IV, which has a qualifier on that exact weekend.
Maybe, just maybe, your favorite OG casters are not there because they just don't want to, you know? Be glad Tastosis is there, I honestly wasn't expecting them to do another big SC2 event either.

Nate recently tweeted that a group of Zerg players had threatened to pull out of tournaments if he was invited as a caster. Presumably because of his comments regarding Lambo? There's absolutely no proof that this accusation is true as far as I'm aware, so I don't see why he would make such a controversial assertion if he was happy taking it easy.

Hype!!! Love the talent line-up - good variety of casting styles and solid entertainment value.
|
Sad no steadfast or catz, but I guess someone has to give when you bring in tastosis haha
Glad they are on sidestream, will be sick
|
Nathanias is really good hype caster and he has a lot of knowledge about the game as well rly sad they don't hire him, he is also a very funny character that makes you laugh
|
Great lineup, always good to see Lowko up there. Beomulf and Steadfast on the B-stream is great as well. Looking forward to the Thursday/Friday, with lots of streams and some potential upsets

Don’t know about feardragon but you are right that the other 2 “seem” better when co-casting. I believe it is due to their other co-caster carrying them because their casting style is still the same as their YT videos; boring and dry as hell.

Glad they are on sidestream, will be sick There are more casters on the main stream (less time per caster) as well as more pre/post game analysis versus actual games.
Being on the B stream really means more steadfast and catz content.
I find myself watching the streams other than the main stream because there is greater likelihood that an actual game will be in progress.

I know I'm responding to a one-post account but considering someone else said we were boring, I am geniuinly interested in hearing what you think we (Wardi and I) could've done better in the Altanta finals. Much of the other feedback I received was that it was actually quite exciting, so what was missing for you? Or for my cast with PiG for Kato 2022 finals, or Maru/Reynor? Is it boring as in not enough energy in our voice, or boring as in no jokes? Is it an issue of not doing a "certain type of cast" often enough, like being too boring in the first few days and okay the last day?

Looking forward to the Thursday/Friday, with lots of streams and some potential upsets beomulf has a great voice and cadence, but one day he was casting and i noticed he used the filler phrase "on the back side" like 400 times (banelings coming in on the back side, medivac drop on the back side, going for 2/2 upgrades on the back side). it was really distracting, other casters even started copying him, and for some reason i can't get over it. why is everything on the back side? are the players spanking each other? a lot of the time i wasn't even convinced there was a "back side" in context or that it meant anything at all
other than that he's cool. maybe needs slightly more self confidence

Agreed! People have no tact
The overall casting talent in SC2 is actually insane. There's like a dozen great people. Not everyone makes it all the time but I always like what we get. Some people deserve to be there, but there isn't anyone who doesn't deserve it. Except for Rotti. Why is he there instead of my goldfish, Chubs? Chubs tries hard. I can see the bubbles leaving his mouth all the time. Give him a chance ffs.

I think Chubs will have a hard road to climb there :/ In case of Rotti, I strongly believe he just hacked the system and his name is auto-filled for every event out there ever. Basically when you host a 4-man Bronze LAN party tourney, Rotti already sits in your closet, ready to cast it
