He joined the team as commentator, I think. Like Steadfast as part of PsiStorm Gaming.

Serral in WTL sounds exciting. I hope Basilisk will compete in the tournament.

How is Basilisk in other ventures? are they funded by Saudi money?

Serral + a bunch of the former NV boys would be an instant championship contender, considering DPG will lose Dark in the next season, and possibly Cure sometime this year too.

We have a good idea of lifetime earnings from tournaments for proplayers, does anyone have datapoints or ranges about their salaries as well ? Just curious how much a top SC2 pro commands these days.

I think there are videos from back in the beginning days (when huk & stephano were on eg) where it was rumored they made 5 figure bank a month. Nowadays I don't think any player is making that amount of money. Teams will mostly cover traveling expanses and sponsor the gear and give a lower salary (some hundreds to small 4 figure salaries for the top top pros). But that is just speculation.

More than you think is the correct answer.

Thanks for your answer, it feels like you've said too much or not enough Personally, I can't see six figures as viable economically relative to number of eyeballs (in fact it'd be demotivational w.r.t. smaller tournaments prize pools, teams want hungry players). So if it's more than 4 figures it has to be 5, probably low 5 I think the top 8 players deserve every bit of that and more. They are all prodigies and also seasoned veterans with a decade of experience, grind, and passion for the game !

Basilisk founder as well as the cofounder / CTO are here in Katowice so they are real people, for those worried that the team was a scam or something. To the poster above, there was insight on ComebackTV that TL initially asked for 1000€ per day of filming for the documentary on Clem, so they are probably paying him a comfortable salary! Obviously it depends on the teams, but I would expect the ones with other more profitable businesses than just sc2 or even games to pay well (ie. TL with all the LoL hype and other games, Shopify Rebellion with Shopify, Ence with the CS:GO fans, etc.)

Well then go ask them what Serral's salary is!
Would also be interesting if it's like other sports where salary is part base, part bonus

Even after a decade following esport, I still have no idea how the hell esport teams are making any notable money to pay their players without any stadium entry, broadcasting right or share of the events revenues.
Sometime I feel like the whole industry is living off the marketing budget of office chairs companies.

^ So much has always been somewhat of a losing venture, but it's not like billion dollar corporations like Intel, or even Shopify, particularly care.
