Well they brought Koreans into the DH Main events like DH Valencia So they Kind of softend the Region lock. They still want to unsure representation from each Region apearently. From a Business standpoint I can actually understand it, they would probably lose out on viewership, if (non hardcore-) fans from outside of KR and EU didn t have a hometown hero in the tournament. | ||

You are probably right about things from the business side of things in the short term. But the un-softening is discouraging to me and has to be all the more discouraging for actual KR players. It wasn't like KR players took over the last TSL or anything, so I'm not sure why they felt the need to push this on tournaments that worked just fine not pulling this shit last time. That aside, choking out the Korean scene is a bad long term choice. It's survived a remarkably long time given how they've been treated, banned from or having their participation capped in most competitions while non-Koreans have always been able to take slots in KR "regional" events. There are already very few up-and-coming KR players, and yet it's still providing most of the "depth" in tournaments. If the KR scene collapses then it's just the top 3/4 EU players trading titles around and the game really will be dead. | ||
