AfreecaTV has announced the groups and schedule for the Ro24 of season 3 of GSL for the year. For information regarding the seeding of the groups, please refer to Afreeca's GSL point ranking.
Note: Rogue, Stats, DongRaeGu and TY are seeded directly into the Ro16.
I personally wouldn't necessarily say there's a group of death but given his qualifier performance there's a chance Dark doesn't get to the Ro16 which is just bizarre.

Which would be the first time since 2015 GSL Season 2 he doesn't get to the Ro16
Dark has a tough group if he can't play his best yet. As for Cure, he should be qualify 100% since I don't see him losing to both Armani and sOs, and Bomber is free. INno has a tough group with 2 protosses and a good zerg so hopefully he manages to get through. I don't see ByuN get out of his group alive, there is a low chance he upsets PartinG, Patience would be like 50-50 and Bunny 40-60... Maru has a relatively easy group for him, RagnaroK he always beats it seems, Dream is doable in TvT and NightMare is not that good. Group A will be difficult for SpeCial but he can do it with good preparation so I would not be surprised, but Trap / Solar is still the obvious choice. Group B I see TaeJa/Zest or Zest/Dark, sorry Creator.

Byun handled Cure and Dream. He is quiet likely to qualify.

ByuN is favoured vs Bunny and slightly favoured vs Patience in my eyes, appart from that I agree with you.

Well if you only look at the results, you can say that. But I looked at the Cure vs ByuN and ByuN vs Hurricane games (only ones that Creighton was given to cast), and I'd say Cure kinda direspected ByuN going two times in a row for the proxy 2 rax, and falling a bit behind due to that. Bunny being good at TvT and having played competitive games I give him the slight edge since it'll be played offline afaik. As for Patience, he beat INno so yeah as I said 50-50. He can get out but it will be very hard I'm afraid.

I mean, he's definitely not a sure bet to get out of that group, but on a whole I'm sure he's pretty happy with the group he was given. Patience can lose to anybody and Bunny is very good but not unbeatable especially given Byun's recent TvT scalps. I wouldn't be surprised if Byun bombed out this time around just because it's been a while, but it wouldn't be because of the strength of the group. Even PartinG is probably one of the more volatile top seeds you could have.
Looks like a bunch of fun groups especially the last one.
It’s weird seeing group A have 3 players from the top 12 of last season and seeing group D with no players from the top 12 (cure was top 16). I know it’s because it counts points from other events but seems like a shortcoming of doing it that way

are you drunk? byun is the clear favorite in this group.

Lol no he’s not
I reckon it's going to be a fascinating contest. I would say Parting is favoured in their matchup right, knowing that his vT is a monster (against anyone not named TY for some reason) and we don't really know how well Byun will fair in his first competitive outing since leaving the military (I'm not counting the qualifiers)
Assuming that Parting goes out first, Byun will need to beat both Patience and Bunny. Byun's TvT was good, and Bunny (from Aligulac) doesn't seem to be fairing well in the match up (36% win rate recently)
Patience on the other hand, seems to be doing quite well vT (58% win rate recently, beating Inno in the qualifiers as well)
Of course, recent stats don't really mean a whole lot in terms of GSL and it's preparations and training that they can do, but overall it seems like a pretty balanced group - anything could happen

Well he's got a literal bye, a military vet, and creator. I think he'll be fine.

The military vet was too much for him in the qualifiers so I dunno Kev.

The reason is TY is the smartest player out there and he knows that the way to beat Partings PvT is play aggro and weird. That basically counters his playstyle, because T will always have advantage in cheese vs cheese TvP. No unit does as much damage early to economy as hellions. Whereas other Terrans who try to play normal like Maru or Inno just get shrecked by Partings aggression. Or they get stuck in mid/late game PvT which is currently unplayable for terrans due to DT play.

Yea I kinda agree groups A and C are only groups who have 2.5 good players. The others only have 1 or 2 tops
How the fuck? Every group is super fun. Did GSL set it up this way on purpose or is this really random seeding? There honestly isn't a boring group in the whole bunch.
I gotta be honest, I don't think we're going to have a foreigner in the Ro16. Special has his work cut out for him in Group A.

WHY is Parting NOT seeded into the RO16 again?
First, Parting wasnt seeded in RO4 even though he made into the RO4 bc it was top 4 pts seeded into ro16
Then, Parting didnt make it to RO4 but has top 4 pts in Korea, and still didnt get seeded
He was seeded directly into the Ro16 last season (as you can clearly see he wasn't in any Ro24 group), he just didn't get to make his own group because of the point ranking. He also isn't top 4 in points, neither in GSL's ranking (7th by points) nor in the ESL ranking (9th).
