actually i don't think i'm old, i feel i am the same idiot as i was at 20. maybe i changed a tiny bit, 18 year old girls seem like children to me, 25+ is ok. you can find me on NA or EU as rob#2508 . my current account names are <GitGud>LegendaryAF or AwwYisss on NA, and <zsír>DrónTájmingü on EU. i play on both servers, mostly 2v2s, with occasional 1v1s, i'm dia with all three races, p (3.7k) < t (3.9k) < z. feel free to msg me for some ranked team games or 1v1 practice.

I do have terrible eyesight, nerdback pain from a PhD (and gaming...), wrist pain from computer work/gaming/cycling, and played SC/BW, WC2, AoE, and C&C in the 90s.

I am beginning to think I'm the only player over 50 ! Surely there has to be others over 50 who play. So many good older Players, good work guys. We have some Diamond and Masters in the mix, good work hey !!. I do owe a big thanks to a player from the USA named Elmeanyo who helped me refine my game, that refinement improved my game quite a bit and helped me get into Plat 1v1. Come on guys there has to be someone else over 50, I cannot be the only 1. I like both - Old Generations and Old Gamer of Stracraft, will have to pick one of these. Thanks guys, appreciated. Hey Deja its me! Glad to see you are back brother. I still play once in a while and it would be fun to get back on the saddle again. I'll look for you this weekend.

Well in between naps anyway Look forward to catching up Look for me as "DejaVu#6981" I have 2 DejaVu profiles, not sure how that happened. Lots of great older players around, so cool. So many funny posts here as well. There is a player from the euro region (littlenemo #2737 see his previous post) who wants to start a euro Clan, awesome Idea. I’ll try to respond to friend requests as quickly as I can and send Invites to Join the new Clan. Go the oldies, lets bring the heat gentlemen

Speaking to some of you genuine older folks here, do you feel age actually physically hinders you much in playing the game on ladder? I’m probably faster and more accurate than I was when I was younger, but a lot of that is due to how I’ve deliberately practiced certain things. I spend a lot of time thinking and visualising about the game, which weirdly seems to translate quite quickly to when I play. Losses make me less salty now I’m a bit more mature, so I feel I learn a bit faster as well from defeat. I’m curious really, I think the only reason young folks have historically been dominant in games is because it’s a relatively new medium, and young people have fewer commitments on their time. My dad was interested in my gaming, but we didn’t play together because he had never really played games himself and I stomped him from the age of 6/7. Nowadays however I can play games with my youngling, because it’s a hobby I had myself. I imagine it’s only relatively recently that many parents will be guiding their charge’s early gaming experiences rather than just observing from a distance. One other phenomenon I’ve noticed is I’m way, way better at navigating a keyboard than most people who are 5-10 years younger than me. My formative years were initially in pre-broadband internet, so to communicate with people across the globe playing games like Diablo 1 and 2, or WarCraft 3 and Starcraft I had no other options than typing, so my hobbies gave me professional tier typing chops. Necessity being the mother of invention and all that, nowadays young people are raised with VoIP and video calling being omnipresent, and the home PC not being the entertainment hub it once was what with smartphones and tablets, so perhaps they lag behind in certain skills that we just naturally picked up by virtue of our environment.
