The one GSL that Gumiho won, the playoff draw worked out for him in that he played multiple TvsT over and over again to get to the finals. I'd like to see him win a premier tournament with significant Korean participation where he needs to beat Zerg and Protoss, rather than relying on a TvsT bracket draw.
Not to derail too much, but this is just bull. Gumiho had a true road of a champ with one of the toughest journeys to the title you could get in the shallow LotV scene. Zest -> aLive -> ByuL -> Stats -> TY -> Maru -> soO is no fluke run.
Gumiho never played Stats, he played Trap
And while that isn't a terrible run, Gumiho was never a bad group stage player. The fact that his playoff run was TvT + soO, coupled with the fact that Gumiho never got that far in playoffs before or since, leads me to regard his GSL win as a fluke dependent on, well, TvT and soO. After all, there is a reason why peak Gumiho is not spoken of with the same awe as peak INnoVation or peak Maru.
You might say a GSL trophy is a GSL trophy. But guys like Sniper and Roro won GSL too. Not saying Gumiho is as bad as they were, but winning a GSL is not black-and-white.

To say he had bracket luck would be an understatement.
As much as I like Gumiho (he is probably the most entertaining terran), it is his only top 4 finish in four years, so calling it a fluke isn't unreasonable.

Inno, Leenock, sOs of course

What's wrong with 2013 Zerg of the Year RorO?

Alive schooled Inno 4-1 last night on his stream. Just saying.

Inno also went 4-0 in his GSL group. GSL might possibly be slightly more important than ladder. Just saying.
