With four of our quarterfinalists already determined yesterday, the second group of players faced off today to complete the Round of 8.

Day two started off with another upset. (T)aLive looked every bit the superior player as he logged a 3-0 victory by running (T)INnoVation ragged with constant aggression and holding fast with impeccable defense.

(P)Dear's match against (P)Hush was a wild affair featuring a variety of proxy builds. Hush put a stamp on his 3-2 victory when phoenix range allowed him to wipe out Dear’s unupgraded phoenixes in the decisive game.

The third match was a lesson in innovative Zerg play. (Z)Solar dropped a game after a spectacular engagement by (T)Bunny, but won the other three with early queen drops and ling/bane/hydra that transitioned into lurkers and, in a sloppy marathon game, brood lords.

The second TvZ of the day was a callback to HotS. (T)Maru's bio/mine got the better of (Z)soO's ling/bane/muta as the Jin Air Terran secured a 3-1 victory. The final game displayed Terran's versatility in harassment as banshee, ravens and hellions set up the killing blow.

Join us tomorrow for the quarterfinals.

Siiiiiiiiiiiick city aLive.

I think he has a pretty good chance against Hush but he should probably hope Maru beats Solar. .

The two heavy favourites are already out, seems like the finals will be Dark vs Maru/aLive.
Hoping for Dark to pull through.

The quick write-ups are great.
(Wiki)Alive's mechanics are about as crisp and fast as anyone's, maybe fastest, I'm not surprised at all.

I feel like players like Alive and Ryung are the best anti Terran players, always eliminate all the Terran in their way then lose hopelessly to any Protoss or Zerg. For a Terran fan, its kinda heart-breaking to watch these sniper kill InnoVation/Maru/Byun/TY then perform poorly in later round.

My thoughts exact. It would be such a huge shame if he knocks out Maru too and then loses in the finals.

Dunno if I'd lump aLive in with Ryung. His TvP as of late is also quite good (should stomp Hush hard) and his TvZ is good enough to sometimes go toe-to-toe with the best ZvT (he's won several times against Dark, ByuL and Solar this year).

Ryung is only decent in TvP and absolutely awful in TvZ.

Good chance for that.

alive is gonna destroy hush, maru's gonna destroy solar and with his TvT looking like that he could make the final.

Both Dark and Byul are probably favored against hero or gumiho, not sure about Byul vs Dark. Didn't see enough ZvZ involving them but people have been saying that Byul is doing pretty well in ZvZ lately.

I disagree. At IEM Alive did lose to another terran TY who eventually became the champion, I think he is favored against Hush; about Ryung he got very far in GSL but he also died to another champion, it was not one sided though; I would say Byul is not any average Zerg neither.

YEAAAAH ALIVE STOMP INNOVATION that's what i'm talking about. now fan of alive. back when he won IPL i was like huh who, and he was boring faceless korean to me, but now he's come back with a vengeance. good for him perservering.

and yeah evil protoss stats got stomped by gumiho, another hero from the past, too! that's what he gets for breaking soo's spirit. poor soo tho eliminated so easily by maru 3-1 lame. he'll probably never make it to a finals again

Ryung, yes. But aLive has the skills to perform well in the other matchups on his day.

Oh wow, good job Alive. Surprised to see Hush take it over Dear. I'm hoping for an Alive vs Byul finals as well.

Bad luck InnO, whenever his TvZ and TvP on peak, he always face a TvT monster.

I feel like Inno always has one weak matchup whether that be TvT or TvP at a given time. And I think aLive's TvT is just really good.

I feel like he always gets shafted by the brackets.
He's always playing his weakest matchup, or against that one guy who can beat him, or both.

I guess that's why he's doing so much better in SSL with the round robin style, compared to like this Super tournament.

This is so strange, INnoVation shown a lot of weakness in TvT and also lost to aLive recently, i didn't expect that one sided vote

Aside from team leagues, Innovation never really had much of a clutch gene. A lot of disappointing performances from a guy so talented.
