This year, Intel Extreme Masters World Championship will host its largest StarCraft II tournament to date with 76 players competing to be crowned an IEM champion and to win their share of the US$250,000 prize pool. With joining the WCS Global program, players will also compete to be the first player to secure a position to play at the WCS Global Finals. With several days of intense SC2 action, we wanted to ensure that we have the right team, as always, to deliver an unforgettable experience.
The Broadcast Team
- Stage host: Sue Smix Lee
- Desk host: James Kaelaris Carrol
- Commentator: Leigh Maynarde Mandalov
- Commentator: Kevin Rotterdam van der Koi
- Commentator: Yoan ToD Merlo
- Commentator: Jared PiG Krensel
- Commentator: Nick Tasteless Plott
- Commentator: Dan Artosis Stemkoski
- Reporter: Mitch Uber Leslie
- Observer: Alex FunKa Verrier
- Observer: Kevin MapuTV Kremser
Adding an extra flavor to the mix will be the addition of Mitch 'Uber' Leslie who will joining the team for the final day in the Spodek arena as the event reporter. Mitch will be providing additional content to support the broadcast. Also, we would like to welcome Kevin 'MapuTV' to the team who has been the man behind the wheel for HomeStory Cup and the most recent NationWars tournament.

Great team indeed but I'm curious what happened to Apollo? He is someone I expected at IEM.

About 10k of his posts are troll posts. He's a terrible user.
Apollo has been moving more into the behind the scenes stuff for some time, no big surprise he's not involved on camera.

Thanks for the info. It makes sense. He moved to LA recently I think so probably some content production that he has been working on over there.
I like him as a host. Funny guy. I hope he will continue to host some IEM/WCS events.

The reporter will be behind the scenes and do interviews and other content outside of the big stages. He will do it for CS:GO and SC II at the same time.

Uber is an app that has become so popular it took on a human form and is now walking among us. Its purpose is still unclear but we assume its actions are not of evil intent. However, for safety reasons we advise to follow these guidelines when interacting with said Uber: 1. No sudden movement, it might trigger an action we havent seen on camera before 2. No foul language in the presence of Uber. It has been reported to cause the Uber to malfunction on camera. Instead we recommend you: 3. Smile a lot, repeat a clear message over and over that every pro has said before you did. 4. Feel free to add in awkward lull or some verbal diarrhea to amuse the Uber. It will then proceed to drive you home safely.
I am really really bored right now

Doing events outside NA aren't as fulfilling for me as I'm more focused on streaming this year and want to build something that can survive further downsizing of SC2 events. Since WCS basically doesn't exist since last year (no studio work) nothing is stable enough for me to give up consistency in my normal work to miss 2 weeks for an event.

I don't think any tournament apart from Blizzcon could possibly afford him any more.
He grew and grew while the scene shrunk and shrunk.
Aside: I just googled his Twitter and found this quote: 'Learn lots. Don't judge. Laugh for no reason. Be nice. Seek happiness.'

By now it's a waste to use FunKa as an observer, he is just too funny when casting.

I feel like ToD has gotten a lot worse since he stopped playing. Most of his Lotv knowledge isn't up to date and it really shines thru in his casts since he tries to be analytical. Otherwise great team though, excited to have Kaelaris again. It was so sad to lose him to heroes of the storm, his play by play is top notch.

Good lord I just hope this has less problems than the League tournament going on atm. Sooooo many pauses and problems.

Are you saying ToD is indeed playing and thus knows "players/ strategies" or that he is working hard, cuz that's not what Comedy was talking about. I have no clue what ToD has been doing lately tho.

IEM website says 3-5 march but on twitter most of starcraft talent is already there now. Open brackets start tomorrow. Then it would be a good time to start putting things on the calendar today. I don't understand these organizations sometimes. Maybe I just spend too much time here, and people get info from other places these days but when you look at upcoming events and see nothing while the biggest tournament apart from Blizzcon is coming it's just sad.

iem csgo is on the calender but sc2 isn't
