Good results this and last week do not mean he will get far in Montreal for example, in fact I seriously doubt he will have great results there. Chances for Blizzcon are close to zero. The statement form AT Gaming would indicate he does not have a new team yet and in all truth he might have a problem finding a better team and conditions. pure speculation, you have nothing to back it up with. pure speculation, you have nothing to back it up with. GL to AT Gaming and uThermal Not really, uThermal's success was mostly based on cheese, he was incredibly lucky in China. It's not possible to repeat that or at least it is most unlikely. AT Gaming's statement speaks for itself. Also I personally do have an idea of how teams operate and what kind of conditions they offer.

His success was not only based on cheese and he did show AMAZING macro games. Also you no knowledge of how this parting took place.

Marc “uThermal” Schlappi goes WCS Montreal! In 3 days, uThermal will play his first match at the 2016 WCS Summer Circuit Championship, which takes place during DreamHack Canada Open: Montreal. His first opponent will be the Finnish player Serral. After his win at IEM Shanghai he has a chance to qualify for Blizzcon, the World Championship, but he has to get a top 4 result. Make sure to cheer on our Terran player on the 12th! Montreal will be the last event for uThermal under the AT banner. During the contract negotiations it became clear for both parties that with the performances from uThermal this last year, with among others winning IEM Shanghai, it is time for him to make the next step in his career. We’ll make a grand post about this later this month, but we wanted to announce this now, so other organisations have the time to pick uThermal up.

incredibly lucky?rofl I'm not saying uThermal is a bad player, he is among the best players in the EU. However, he was very lucky to play in IEM as he did not qualify for it, in fact he got there by pure coincidence - that is very lucky. He is good but not as good as Snute and he clearly has a weakness against Zerg, 2 cheesy games gave him the upper hand. The games against Elazer played out in a similar fashion. In these two matches he had a very slim chance to win in pure macro games, nevertheless cheese paid off, it was a good decision - but it is very lucky that it worked. He wasn't lucky with Violet or Neeb, simply because he is better than Violet and TvP plays out in a different manner. While I respect his achievement and sincerely congratulate him I do not think he could repeat the result even if exactly the same tournament was played over again even 10 times in a row. So, yes, I think he was incredibly lucky.

I don't see any reason not think of him as at least as good as Snute.

Any Terran that has a winning record against Snute, doesn't crumble under pressure, and performs well against Protoss (and is a foreigner) is something to be treasured, as it is remarkably rare. Tell me the last time a foreign Terran won a major even like Uthermal did? It's virtually unheard of. GO UTHERMAL!!!!!!

If you will be scouted you get an auto-loss. You are depending to a much lesser extent on skill (although it does matter) than on luck. Generally, you do it when you feel you will have a bigger problem in a macro game. The fact that uThermal played Violet instead of Nerchio was also rather lucky. I'm not saying this is bad or diminished his success, but luck was a very important factor. SOme say that better players get lucky - hope this satisfies you :-) The Chances to be scouted 50% is not true in this case. Snute never drone scout vs terran and Uthermal checked Snute overlord path in all his game on that map. The overlord of Snute was going under the main to check proxy there (it's a better location for the terran). Also Uthermal defeated Nerchio with this build after being scouted immediatly. I'll ensure you that to win with this build when you have half arrmy supply of your opponent you have to be better in microing and snute did some micro mistakes that cost him that game while uthermal microed pretty much perfectly. You can tell the difference for example when marinelord is doing this build, his micro was worst and he lost. So in my opinion even in that game skill was involved. About 3 rax reapers, well that is not a cheese, its a heavy pressure.
