Oh very nice. I do not know how nice the location will be, but it sounds like it'll be pretty good, given the prize pool and WCS points.

I cannot believe something like this is actually going to happen. A WCS event in Latin America! This is seriously mindblowing to me, I'm speechless.

Oh 1 thing i noticed is that theirs only 2 spots for Hydra/Polt/TRUE/viOLet to try and take since they can't play passport qualifiers. This means only 2 of them can qualify and they might not qualify cause since theirs only 2 spots for eu that leaves either Snute/ShowTime/Nerchio/Harstem/MarineLorD/SortOf in that qualifier as well who can beat them also na players such as puCK/MaSa/Neeb/Scarlett will also be in the qualifier as well so this will be interesting!!!

When is the global event coming?

I think this is the one and only WCS event with $50k prize pool this year?

How is a 10 player single elimination bracket supposed to work?

10 players in singleelim? so the latin american players are there anyway, so why don't they go for a full ro16 then =O? This means there will be 2 games in the ro16 and all olther players earn 2.5k$ before even playing an offline match )= Well I'm still hyped, but I'd prefer 16 players or doubleelim for more games =D

That's already been flagged as a WCS Korea event.

This is pretty cool. Excited to see Jimrising and Major compete. I was in Mexico City a few years ago. I've never seen a more crowded city in my life. Your dollar goes very far. There is literally no better flavor in the world than a 12 peso (1$) taco. Even the smaller stands make fresh salsas from mild to ridiculously spicy. There is plenty of pedestrians paths to walk and look at the old Spanish Cathedrals. And police on every corner.

Good for the Latin American scene. I bet Topin and DARKING are pretty hype right now

Great news!

Not true, it won't be a WCS Korea event, but it is after blizzcon and not part of WCS at all so.. there's that.

Well okay, VIRTUALLY a WCS Korea event.

Cool. Hyped for all the korean players that are allowed to attend.

A WCS Event with 10 Slots? Joke?

With these seedings it seems reasonable

In the first round you decide the winners? Very exciting format. I must meet the think tank behind it and have some vodka with them.

Still, 16 players could have been allowed to enter. Would have been more fun. Why can't Mexico get a few slots for example? IEM usually has a few for the host country, no?

I'm guessing there may have not been that much budget for that many players, but I'll take it. Just the simple fact there is going to be a WCS Circuit event in such a small and, frankly, little money region is a lot more that I ever expected.

Hahaha just when I thought Blizzard could not surprise me anymore... We get this!
(Happy for latam still)

Cant we just ban sc2 in korea? Its getting more ridicolous by the minute. (asuming korea is not included in Oceania, Southeast Asia, Japan)

The dates for the European qualifiers are not reasonable. Players will be coming back from Montreal on the 15th, considering flight time and time zone difference - they will arrive home most likely on the 16th early afternoon. Considering how tired they will be - the qualifiers on the 16th of August are unreasonable. I think organizers should reconsider the dates.

Hi Kafka, we are looking into that and we already have some possible new dates. We will keep you guys informed on our official blogposts and I will also post here ^^

I was mixing it up with the WCS Winter / Spring / Summer. Congrats to Semper and Scarlett for qualifiying to the Summer Circuit Championship through the Canada National Qualifier.

***Update: New EU Passport dates: August 17th (Day 1) and August 24th (Day 2)**** So we have one more day for Montreal players to rest, and we avoid gamescom as well.
