Please introduce yourselves first.
Zest: Hi everyone, I am Zest, Protoss player from KT Rolster, i just stepped down as captain this year.
TY: Hi everyone, I am TY, Terran player from KT Rolster.
When you first met each other on Team WeMade Fox, how did you feel about each other?
Zest: That was my first time on a professional team and TY was already doing quite well. It was a novel feeling for me and i admired TY. Back then, i wasn't even sent out to play and TY was already winning matches.
TY: When Zest hyung joined the team, he was different from the other trainees. His skill went up very quickly and he made his debut in Proleague very quickly. He practiced hard and wasn't nervous during matches. I felt that he was going to become a great player.
Was it a pity after WeMade Fox was disbanded?
Zest: It was really unfortunate and some players were forced to give up on their beloved Starcraft. But after the team was disbanded, our first priority was to find a new team, so we had to continue to work hard. Even after finding a new team, we had to practice hard so there wasn't any energy to think of other things.
TY: Separating with the other players and not just Zest hyung was a pity for me. But after i heard that Zest hyung got into KT, I was relived. It was a good team and they would take good care of him, so it wasn't that bad.
After leaving WeMade Fox, did the two of you competed against each other in tournaments?
Zest: TY went to Team 8 and i went to KT, and soon after we faced each other. I lost quite badly to his special tactics as i was unable to do anything. (being liberal in my translation here, I didn't watch bw.)
It was the first time i saw that build so i felt that he prepared very well.
TY: It was a very difficult map to play on, and i felt that it was difficult to beat Zest hyung so i planned for a long time and that build was the only way to win, so I was fortunate it worked out.
After the transition to SC2, did the two of you faced each other again?
Zest: TY won again. (laughs) He won every time. If we include BW, he has a 5:2 record over me.
TY: You cannot compare Zest hyung of now and his past. They are two completely different players. Not saying that he played like a noob back then. (laughs) To move up from Code A to Code S is very difficult. ( not very sure is he talking about gsl here or just in terms of 2nd tier to 1st tier, the translation itself wasn't clear) Zest hyung in the past cannot be compared to his current level.

After TY moved to KT, you became teammates again. How did you feel?
TY: When we were on WeMade Fox, we were already quite close. Even though it had been a while, it felt like i had just saw Zest hyung yesterday. So it was natural that we got close.
Zest: When i first met TY, i was a rookie. After that i got better results than him, i thought if we combine forces, we can definitely win the Proleague Championship.
Moving into LOTV, what do you think your teammate's strengths are.
Zest: First of all, LOTV feels very fast-paced, so it requires players to be good at multi-pronged harass. TY was already good in this area, so it was natural for him to shine in LOTV.
TY: Zest hyung is playing much better now than when LOTV just came out, you can gradually see his improvement and he is a very difficult opponent to deal with.
Do you watch a lot of each other's games?
Zest: My matches were after his, so i did not watch many of his games. I did watch a few during practice. Even before his match, i felt that he was going to win, so after he advanced to the finals, i didn't think too much about it. I had to focus my attention on preparing for my matches.
TY: I was in a relaxed mood when watching his games. Even though Dear is good player, Zest hyung didn't even lose a single game. He really is a great player.
How do you feel about the team-kill?
Zest: Everytime there is a team-kill, i lost, so i do not like team-kills. It's a team-kill again so i think i have to try my best to relax and play.
TY: I actually feel more relaxed when it's a team-kill. Playing against somebody i am close to always makes me feel relaxed. So this time i am more relaxed and i just want to enjoy the finals.
What type of player is your teammate?
TY: Zest hyung is the best protoss. He is standing at the top of the protoss peak. I think of myself as the challenger and have the attitude of learning from him as i prepare. This is how i can show a great game.
Zest: Even though in HOTS, TY did not perform as well as Maru or Innovation, but the style of the game changed with LOTV and TY is able to play better. I think he is the best terran.
Since it is a team-kill, it must be hard to prepare.
Zest: Since our Proleague games just finished, we have to start practicing. Maybe we will toss a coin and the loser will have to use the practice room of our previous LOL team. There are good and bad points about practicing in there. You have to re-adjust all your gear but because it is a empty room, it might be easier to focus.
TY: If there is only one person in the LOL room it might be very boring. But if i bring Stats hyung and Trust in, it would be better.
You will have practice partners, so what terms and conditions do they have?
Zest: To be honest, compared to monetary rewards, treating them to a meal would be better. Doesn't matter if its beef or anything, if i become champion, i will treat them no matter how expensive it is.
TY: I have not been able to fulfill my promise to jjakji hyung after the semi-finals. I will definitely fulfill the promises i made to Stats hyung and Trust who have been practicing with me this time round. And of course not forgetting jjakji hyung. What i promised them is very good, so now i am regretting a little. But of course, i am very grateful to them. If i win, i will prepare a bigger present than the semi-finals.
Host Gyuri wants Zest to dance if he wins.
Zest: Normally i do not get distracted by other things before matches. I will see what happens when the time comes. I just want to concentrate on doing well.
TY: I did not think about any victory ceremony as well. After winning, i might do anything.
It is a team-kill in the finals, many fans are worried about the scenario that one would be overjoyed while the other is sorrowful.
Zest: The atmosphere in our team is great. No matter who wins, we will feel happy for him.
TY: I must win in this finals even though my opponent feels the same. If i come in second, i will still congratulate him, i feel that i have already done very well just by getting into the finals.
Make a prediction for the finals.
Zest: I think it will be a 4:2 or a 4:3 might be more realistic.
TY: If i win, it will probably be a 4:3. Beating my opponent will not be an easy task.
Before we end, say a word of encouragement for your opponent.
Zest: This is your first finals, and you had to face me, so it might be a bit stressful for you. But let us try our best to put up a exciting and entertaining finals.
TY: This is the first GSL finals in LOTV, so i will show a level of skill that is worthy of the finals.
A last word to your fans.
Zest: This is my first team-kill in a finals, i hope everyone can support both of us. We will put up a great finals.
TY: This is KT's first team kill in a finals and the first finals in LOTV, we will do our best to make this a exciting finals. Please do come down to support us.
The interview was ending but the two players seemed like they had more to say so the reporter asked another question.
Talk about your opponent's weaknesses.
Zest: TY has improved a lot compared to the past but he focuses too much on harass and is weak in all-in strategies.
TY: Zest hyung's results depend a lot on his form and condition. If his form is not good, he becomes another player. So this is something he has to work on.
