They won't get one cent from the move and yet they still paid for the sponsorship, not Youtube... I doubt they will be investing more in SC2 following this net lose. Sucks to lose a sponsor. Maybe they got some understanding where whatever money is generated via Youtube goes to them to make the situation a little less sucky. As a viewer though, I, too, am happy but I can't help feeling that us bullying them in giving up isn't all that great.

They had this issue with the CS:GO fans because of the .exe and now a plugin requirement to view. They heard the feedback that the viewers DO NOT want to have any plugin or anything as a requirement to view the stream. They failed to comply, so they must bear the consequences. Although I think the community did take it too far, they could have just install a small free linux VM with only chrome browser and the plugin, watch the stream there if they fear a malware or anything and then shut it down.

Anything to get away from Twitch I'm all for. Except downloading random software from an unknown source that wants a lot of rights.

This is not their first failed experiment.

I know what UDP/TCP is and how their plugin could help. But as many people said before, there is no justification for an end user to install a plugin to watch a stream in 2016. Even if it is not an adware or malware, it is a glorified way for them to bypass adblock at best. I sincerely hope their company goes under and they leave sc2 scene for good.

The community really overreacted on this, especially reddit, but I guess it can't be helped

I'm quite proud. Thanks to DingIt for recognizing their product is sub-par, now you know what you need to do : come back with something that's actually decent, and not shady-looking.

Everytime the camera is moving (and it is very often in a gaming stream) there is serious shading on DingIt and it's just not what you call true 1080p quality. Maybe it is 1080p, maybe it is 60fps but it doesnt appear like it for sure. More like 480p. So @madals: I read through your long post last week and I followed your arguments as they theoretically actually make sense. But words is the one thing, as the product DingIt is delivering, despite having the contra of the extra Plugin to install, isn't really nice at all and doesn't give the user a good viewing experience at all. Sorry to say as I support new approaches to streaming, but you actually need to improve A LOT.

Little wasted as well so shot straight through the comments looking for a link.
