I take our word very seriously and it saddens me deeply that we did not come through on this within a reasonable time frame. That said, I do want to make sure that those of you pointing to this are doing so with the right information in mind. Out of all the tiers promised 8/10 tiers were delivered on. The remaining tiers are a pizza party, and the cross-game showmatches. With this announcement we've made sure to deliver, or come close to delivering as is realistically possible, on the outstanding tiers as a part of this announcement, and I don't think any of us would have wanted to move forward without doing so. For the pizza party the difficulty is that there are basically no events for StarCraft to do this at nowadays. As a solution we did pizza parties last Sunday in LA and SF, and have decided to add to the concept by hosting an online one and dedicate a pizza party VOD viewing night specifically for StarCraft. For the showmatches cross-game is a difficult concept more fun in word than in practice. The showmatches in the announcement are included to make sure we deliver on this tier with similar but alternative content. I'm confident we can come up with some great ideas for this that will reward both players and fans in the SC scene.

You could always do delivery. :D I've had Pizza Huts within 5 miles that refused to deliver to me because it was "too far." And if I do carryouts, I rather have a hot pizza, as it isn't exactly a food I'd eat in the car. Plus I could get NY style slices just 3 blocks down. All this pizza talk making me crave them fat and carbs grrrrr...

I take our word very seriously and it saddens me deeply that we did not come through on this within a reasonable timeframe. Well, I feel vindicated for what I said then, and don't need to take another 20 mile drive for pizza. Even though what you said isn't technically an apology, it feels like it, but it should have come way sooner and should have righted a wrong. Sadly, it did neither. Supporting E-Sports in 2013 felt like you were supporting a grass-roots movement, not a corporate entity. Probably everyone on this forum has been ripped off by a corporate entity in one way or another, but the failure to deliver what you said you would deliver, made TL feel like just another corporate entity taking advantage of us. The fact is, TL and Papa Johns didn't care enough about the community to make it right. Otherwise you would have. It is why I can't buy pizza for this, and why I wrote a letter to Papa Johns deriding their decision to work with Team Liquid. We all got our choices to make.

Also their pizza is cheaper, tastier, healthier and more genuine than any of these pizza franchises.

Lol, fair enough. I live in the largest city in the US, Jacksonville. It takes 45-50 minutes on the highway without traffic to go from one end to the other. 15 miles that is highway connected here equals 15 minutes driving time, 15 miles down a busy road (non highway) means about 35 minute drive lol.

(marketing and logistics also not included) But yes, they still do profit with deals like these so I can understand the people who feel betrayed. Eh our salaries aren't low (unless your a waiter/waitress, who only get 3-4 dollars a hour and tips.) It just the business has contacts so they pay a lot up front, but the ingredients become cheaper. For example: If farmer A is offering a company his cheese at .80 cents a pound. And farmer B is offering the same company his cheese for .10 cents a pound, but with lets say a contract. In the contract, they buy the cheese from him for a year and give him lets say 100,000$ at the signing of the contract. All the company has to do is put it into a linear equation (for A, .80x. and B, .10x +100,000) and choose the farmer based off of how much cheese they need. However i'm not sure it costs thirteen cents for the ingredients of a pizza. Idk, while i'm well versed in pizza statistics. I'm not up to par on pizza science/cost .

PapaJohns/Dominoes/PizzaHut are places people go to when they have no good pizza places around. But hey, i think its cool they're throwing some money at esports/SC2. The more the merrier. Reminds me of that The Office episode, where Michael is excited to get some New York Pizza, and goes to Sbarro

The Sc2 e-sports scene always felt like something, that was pushed on me and heavily marketed by the according industry. And it still feels to me that way. I can understand your frustration about that fact as i felt similar, but perhaps you are projecting to much of it on this Pizza incident. I like that Nazgul comments on this matter and seems to care, but then again TL headquarters could have cared earlier, when the problem arose. I dunno, supporting E-Sports with pizza is like drinking beer to safe the rainforest anyway, the idea sounds kind of .. wrong. What we all can do, if we love our game (and mine isn't Sc2) is: hype the events that happen, show our support to players and organizers and make stuff happen ourselves.

I mean I love TL, and if I'm being honest I'll probably buy a pizza for the cause just so I can say I did... But man last time seemed pretty brutal, and I really can't blame people for saying they won't fall for that again. I'm kind of surprised that instead of apologizing first they just try to do the same thing again. I'm glad Nazgul has written his piece now, that helps, but it just feels like damage control more than anything. + Show Spoiler + Not to mention the fact that pretty much any other pizza out there tastes better to me than Papa Johns does
