Hello. My name is Choya, the head coach of MVP Starcraft II team. After a long time, I am writing significant matter in SNS. Our MVP team has signed a business agreement with IB SPORTS on November 11th. We believe that this opportunity will help our team to advance much further. Our team will get various supports from IB SPORTS such as operating main sponsors, hosting tournaments, MCN contents, and management of our team players. IB SPORTS is sports broadcasting channel, operating by IB MEDIA NET which is a subsidiary company of GALAXIA SM (ex IB WORLDWIDE), providing various sports events program such as KBO, MLB, UFC, KLPGA, AFC, IAAF, WWE. Superstars like Shin-soo Choo and Yeon-jae Son are belong to GALAXIA SM and Yuna Kim was in GALAXIA SM too . GALAXIA SM is also planning to develop various contents with partnership of SM Entertainment. After it changed its title to GALAXIA SM on October 30th, MVP is the first company that signed a business agreement. We hope you to support and show us a lot of interests. We hope all of you the best and we always appreciate your support! Thank you so much! ( source: Choya facebook )
Also the team roster will be announced on Friday (13th Nov):
Staff Update;

So - is this MVP's new name? Is IB SPORTS their title sponsor?

I'm guessing this is also why MVP is picking up a LoL team

I like this. New tournament in Korea, possibly broadcast on TV? I'm just gonna accept that to be true until proven wrong :D

More money to a professional team... Won't ever be a bad thing, right

Guess that is connected with them returning to LoL with a new team. Good news!

Always good to see new sponsors. Though I still want a Kia eSports team

I think he means when the overarching company chanced it's name
GALAXIA SM (ex IB WORLDWIDE) so I'm guessing no.
Anyway; Good news!

IB Sports is basically the rival of SPOTV in Korea in terms of IPTV sports broadcasting. Which means I'm assuming they are looking into entering the e-Sports broadcast market with this sponsorship.
Although with how the scene has shifted from cable (OGN/MBC) to IPTV (SPOTV/Hungryapp) to online broadcasting (Twitch/Afreeca) it might be hard for them to make an impact.

This makes this much more clear, thanks!
Good news for MVP, hopefully. They'll have money to pay for that League team now!

Is there any chance that having a competing sponsor might cause issues for MVP in terms of participating in SSL? I know that OGN and MBC got along well enough, but these are two different companies...

It is not "shifted" - it`s expanded.

CJ E&M own OGN which is why. Competiting cable channels haven't stopped teams from appearing on other channels. Only time that this was a problem was GOMTV and its Classic tournament, but that was more because it wasn't KeSPA sanctioned.

If they're getting into LoL, does that mean they're dropping their teams in the other Mobas? Doesn't Kespa have a thing about that?

That being said, I'm glad we're getting title sponsors now. I felt the new Kespa teams lacked legitmacy because they haven't secured those big sponsors yet. We kinda had LG-IM but that ended up being the saddest story on the planet.
We had Team 8-> Jinair quite some time ago and Startale into Sbenu recently. Hopefully more teams can secure themselves big sponsors soon.

seems the case, I wonder what the rumors of their name sponsor claim to be.

New naming sponsor will be revealed in around 2 hours (15~16:00 kst). Even Choya doesn't know what it is because the boss couldn't believe him that he does too much twitter and facebook.
