I went ahead and watched game 1 because I wanted to see the level of play this tournament would bring forth. Here is what I saw:
Map is Echo. Aphrodite spawns 5'o clock position, cherryice at 11'o clock. Aphrodite opens Reaper FE cherryice opens standard 15 hatch Aphrodite's 1st reaper arrives before first queen comes out and no lings. 1st reaper legit gets like 4 - 5 drone kills and just cripples cherryice's economy. Aphrodite transitions into triple CC / dual starport, cherryice goes for roaches Aphrodite moves out with 4 banshees and 2 BCs, cherryice sees this and responds by making more roaches. Roaches pop out. They run around cherryice's natural doing nothing as they get disintegrated by BC yamatos and BC blasts. Aphrodite annihilates everything and loses 0 units. By the end of the game, she has like 3 - 4 starports and like 7 - 8 BCs and 4 banshees. The only units cherryice made that whole game were drones/queens/overlords/roaches. I don't think anyone ever explained to her that while the roach is indeed a good unit, it cannot do jack crap against air. cherryice GGs. Aphrodite wins in less than 15 minutes.

Granted, since Aphrodite used to be a former KR GM, I obviously expected her to win, but I wasn't expecting a roflstomp. I'm going to watch more games cause I'm interested in seeing how this tournament turns out but game 1 was like watching SKT vs Prime... It was just... -__-;;

That being said, Aphrodite is going to win. She always does.
A lot of girls are playing in this mostly for fun. I recognize a lot of the IDs because they pop in my Twitter feed from progamers or press people retweeting photos of players or screenshots of their ladder rank etc. There's a group of hardcore fangirls that go to almost every match and seem to play tons as well; some of them are in this. One of the players works in production at SPOTV Games.
That being said, Aphrodite is going to win. She always does.

Yeah i watched a little of the tournament and Unranked or Gold vs Diamond was ... not that great. I saw no great games but fun ones (Proxy nexus at the gold on Vannii was fun) but 200 vs 60 supply on overgrowth wasn't THAT fun.

I think this should have been a thing earlier, but if this keeps up, it might catch some real steam. If things like this just pop up every now and then, the women's scene will never really grow.

Yeah, I've had a lot of people ask if I named myself after "that guy" and I'm not. This nick predates "that guy" being in the news/public consciousness. I should sue him or something

If it were only feasible, there are a good number of foreign women who could pose a plausible challenge to Ssemi and Aphrodite (Maddelisk, Mayuki, and Soyhi come to mind).
As someone who had the passion to watch every match so far on Sunday, I would recommend this game if you want to see the most confusing game of all time

I didn't watch any of these games, but I think Livibee would get shrekt by Aphrodite. At least based on my personal experience with both players.
Haa...I just realised, Cheon Bo Yeong isn't just an interviewer for this but a caster. It's nice if she's getting further into the Starcraft community. :3 Also just realised it's casting for SC2 instead of BW. Does she know much about SC2 then? Can anyone who speaks Korean tell me how is she as a caster?
