Ever since Heart of the Swarm was released, every GSL finals has featured one or more player who would go on to join SK Telecom T1, was a current member of SK Telecom T1, or was previously a member of SK Telecom T1.
2013 WCS Season 1 Korea Runner up - STX INnoVation Winner - Woongjin Stars Soulkey
Both of these players went on to join SK Telecom with Soulkey joining in 2013, and INoVation joining in 2014.
I am not including the second season of the 2013 WCS Korea, because the event was run by Ongamenet, even though the runner up of this even was an SK Telecom T1 player, Rain.
2013 WCS Season 3 Korea Runner up - SK Telecom T1 soO Winner - SouL Dear
This was also the beginning of soO's GSL run, where he was the finalist for 4 season in a row.
2014 Global StarCraft II League Season 1 Runner up - SK Telecom T1 soO Winner - KT Rolster Zest
2014 Global StarCraft II League Season 2 Runner up - SK Telecom T1 soO Winner - SK Telecom T1 Classic
2014 Global StarCraft II League Season 3 Runner up - SK Telecom T1 soO Winner - SK Telecom T1 INnoVation
2015 Global StarCraft II League Season 1 Runner up - yoe Flash Wolves PartinG Winner - KT Rolster Life
PartinG was a former player for SK Telecom, playing with them from 2013 to 2014

That would be because they money coming out of their ass

this just reminded me of the soOner-up era :o
|
Another way to look at it, is second place finishers all have skt1 blood in them. SKong Telecom T1
|
Not surprised, SKT breeds and buys champions
|
Not terribly surprising considering soO alone takes care of 4 of the 6 GSLs.

So this means Rain, PartinG, Dream or INnoVation make the GSL finals, right?

Perhaps
I actually do think that Dream will make it to both the GSL and SSL finals.

If so, he'll be the first player to get simultaneous ssl and gsl silvers

Dream is one of the best players, imo. I would be surprised if he didn't get to at least one finals this time around.
Given his current opponent's form for SSL, he should have the game in the bag, haha. But it'll be interesting since he has his GSL match (for his group) against the same person as his quarter finals match.

Yes, given herO's form, having scored a convincing win against Maru, Dream should have this in the bag. ?

But other than that, a (former or future) member of either of the Telecom giants has been in every finals of premier KR Starcraft for a while, yeh.

If you are impressed by identifying successful players and using your inherent financial advantage to buy them then you are easily and wrongfully impressed.
