IMO sunglasses should not be a part of poker. Why can't those people maintain poker faces? It's part of the game.

Hey Jessica,
Please tell him how we love him ! (at least that I LOVE HIM). He's the best of the best, always had been and even in WoL he was so genius that his builds made Blizzard patch the game ! (BLUE FLAME SLAYERS !)..

As someone who actually is a professional poker player, I can tell you it's not an advantage at all, very few if any tells come from the eyes (hands, neck and chest and talking give away a lot more) and when you're indoors wearing sunglasses can make you tired more quickly which is a disadvantage. Tells are also a relatively small part of poker overall compared to game theory, bet sizing, assigning hand ranges etc.
It doesn't bother me in the slightest if my opponent is wearing sunglasses. There's a reason most of the top players (Ivey, Negreanu, Antonius etc.) don't wear sunglasses, if they provided any actual advantage everyone would wear them.
Boxer, if I see you at the WSOP i'll buy you a beer for the many hours of entertainment your SC1 games gave me over the years, hope you succeed if you decide to take poker seriously and try and make a career of it.
A lot of the top poker players in the world are big Starcraft fans, i'm sure Boxer would have no problem getting coaching from the absolute best poker players, many of whom are his fans, and given his Starcraft skill i'm sure he has the intellect to reach an elite level in the game if he puts in the time and has a desire to reach the elite level, plus he's marketable so is likely to receive sponsorship from a major site if he becomes a good player the same way Elky has sponsorship from PokerStars (Elky is also a truly elite player, probably in the top 100 poker players in the world)

laughed so hard at the hoodie and sunnies
i love you boxer

It's more likely that he's wearing the hoodie/shades so people don't recognize who he is. The man's gotta stay low key till he's a top tier player.

Seeing guys who you watched playing Starcraft when you were younger now playing other things is oddly depressing to me.

This so much.
This isn't just me being a blind fan.
Boxer really is a special player, there was no one comparable to him.
He just had that level of starcraft genius that was both creative and entertaining. Not a single player is comparable. Sure there are great players like MVP, or players who try out cool and fun things like sOs and Has. But Boxer was Boxer.
I'll always miss him I'm still sad I never got to watch him play in person... maybe one day, in some special event, I can meet him and see him play on stage?

Boxer <3
One thing I have to say tho - I am very sad how he left the SC community after all that he has done for it. Saying that it's not the end, just a break because of health issues and then quietly leaving without proper farewell. We've had big threads, final edits, highlight videos etc. for all big players who decided to retire. Just not for the biggest of them all, the Emperor, HIM. If we have to drop the last remnants of hope of his return to SC (not necessarily as a player), we need a place to grieve, sob and think of all the good old times.
Please, if it's possible, talk to us one more time and let us know. We love you so we will understand. Just don't leave us, your true fans, in this limbo.

I hope you and BoxeR are doing well, jelly365. All my best wishes and regards
