While Macsed has the toughest match of his life ahead of him. If there's anyone who can beat PartinG in a PvP it's going to be a chinese protoss doing shit that's even weirder than PartinG. 5 games of phoenix colossus is what we need
I have faith that Creator will be back in some what of his old form. I can see him beating Classic, especially if Classic's mindset isn't stable.
I'm super excited for the Trap vs. Dark matchup. Dark has a lot to prove in individual leagues and Trap, who has been doing pretty well for himself lately, is going to test Dark's ability against a strong Protoss. But, I think Trap will beat Dark because JAGW doesn't have to play Trap in SPL because JAGW has a deeper lineup than SKT. So, Trap can save some sick builds for Dark. We'll have to see I guess.
I wonder what form Dear and sOs are in...... *strokes beard* interesting...

So let's review. Jim got the eventual champion, Scarlett got a hard-counter to her playstyle, and now MacSed gets a Parting who is in the best form of his life. Amazing.

Trap already beat Dark 3-1 in IEM WC Katowice, he can do it again

I think it's the best. It makes challenger round is more worth to watch.
I also like the format. The volatility seems designed to differentiate the NSSL from the GSL, since it presumably shakes up the ro16 more. A GSL clone would get fewer viewers because most people would just watch the original. They could have done another format (last season someone "suggested" a 32-player round robin), but this keeps the stakes high and adds a lot of variety.

What? There are many easier opponents than friggin Leenock.
He won 6 out of his last 23 games, no there probably isn't an easier opponent. At least there aren't "many"
He crushed sKyHigh today. Other easy opponents include Symbol, Hurricane, Super, HyuN and friggin MacSed. Don't tell me Leenock is easier than friggin MacSed.

skyhigh isn't really a regular proleague player ( i didn't watch the game though!) Ok i agree that Leenock probably is not the weakest of them all, but i still am of the opinion that he is one of the weakest for sure.

Flash completely rekt Creator, barely lost to Trap and threw the game against sOs. Flash vs Protoss isn't as bad as you make it sound. KT actively fields him against Protoss in SPL. And his historically best MU is TvT. He had a 10 game losing streak against Zerg in the beginning of this year, mind you. And Leenock isn't even the weakest Zerg.

Haha fair enough (i probably should watch more CJ games) Still, outside of Proleague skyhigh doesn't have any real results. I am just saying that a game vs skyhigh probably shouldn't determine how we value Leenock Leenock is definitely bottom tier if we look at all these players, that's my whole point

sKyHigh's mech crushed both soO and Losira, that's why I brought it up. Leenock isn't top tier, but he's not the easiest Flash could have gotten.
Why did Macsed get an invite =O? "Global" Seed = chinese seed? I hope they will get a group stage for challenger league in 2016 (for WCS, SSL and GSL) if there will still be sc2 in 2016

Leenock may be a weaker player but I have the feeling that Flash manages to be an even weaker player, I think Leenock has a pretty good chance to take it
EDIT: Also, poor MacSed, gonna get Big Boyed out ASAP. Good news as a PartinG fan though, EZPZ victory for the BIG BOY.
Think that one of Cure or SoulKey will be out before even getting the chance to play in the Ro16. That one of Trap or Dark will know the same fate. One of Zest or Bbyong. One of INnoVation or ByuL. One of Dear or sOs. Then read my comment again.

Fair enough, I thought u were saying the matchups were poor at face value. Shame the match-ups in the ro16 become so top-heavy in some parts and weaker in others.
I still don't get it. In the previews and recaps, it says "NSSL". In the recent Qualys and Challenger threads, it says "S2SL". I think we need to stick with one acronym to avoid confusions.

Someone keeps changing the thread title to S2SL, don't know how tho. I'd say keep NSSL (at least until something else it announced). People got used to that name now
We should keep NSSL as thread title or else it gets confusing, if Naver doesn't sponsor S2 just call it NoSponsor Starcraft II Star League and we're good to go

I hope one day we see a foreigner-only WCS and the winners gets to play a bo7 vs the lowest seed in Code S.

I'd say that the foreigner wins. Now if we're talking about the lowest Ro16 seed... edit : I mean looking at last season people like PenguiN should be EZ for Snute/Bunny/etc. Now YoDa or MC are another story.

I guess lol. But they're not even inviting top foreigners. They had out-of-practice almost-retired Scarlett and two meh Chinese players and threw them against TY, Maru and Parting FFS

Well the foreigner would have a chance for sure, but Penguin shouldn't be in code s to begin with. I think one could find 32 korean players who are all favored vs the best foreigner in a bo5/7 series. (even if not by much)

Well, I'd understand that people like Snute, Bunny or NaNiwa would prefer to stay at home than to travel to the other side of the globe in the sole goal of playing against the GSL champion^^
(Z)Leenock 0-3 (T)Flash: I realize that Flash is not as good as he was back in the day, but I still think that he is superior to Leenock in every aspect possible. Flash has one of the best decision making in all of SC2 and he will not only be able to outplay Leenock, but out think him as well. Plus, Flash's only weakness is against Protoss. His versus is extremely high at a whopping 66%. Leenock only has a like 54% vT winrate. I think Flash will stomp Leenock with ease.
(Z)Rogue 3-0 (P)Hurricane: I don't think i even need to explain this one.
(P)herO 3-0 (Z)Symbol: herO is the 2nd best Protoss in the world right now. His versus Zerg is the 2nd best of the Protoss players that are currently active right now. Symbol is just a mere shell of what he used to be. Symbol used to be a top player that was a contender to win every tournament he entered. Now, herO, the 2nd best Protoss these days, will just destroy Symbol's dreams.
===========================================
(P)Super 2-3 (Z)soO: Pretty close match. soO is known to struggle against Protoss players. I think he will struggle against Super, but still pull out a win because he is simply the better player.
(T)Cure 2-3 (Z)Soulkey: Cure is a very good player these days. He is Maru-lite. But Soulkey is a GSL champion who beat Innovation during his unstoppable prime. Cure will be up 2-0 but then Soulkey will miraculously come back and win the game. Soulkey has one of the best ZvT's in the world. Soulkey is the Iron Wall and Cure's drop heavy won't do against a player of Soulkey's calibre. Soulkey will show Cure the difference between a GSL winner and a Code S round of 4 player.
(P)Trap 3-2 (Z)Dark: Dark is known for his 2nd best ZvT, but he is also known to be not that good at vP. Trap, on the other hand, is on the rise. Dark will win some cheese games, but Trap will out play him in longer games because Dark already proved that his long ZvP games are not that good.
===========================================
(P)Zest 3-0 (T)Bbyong: Zest won the IEM World Championship. He is the current best Protoss in the world. Nobody is near his calibre of Protoss play right now. Yes, Bbyong beat herO, but that was a team kill therefore pretty weird. Zest is on another level right and has shown the best games that any Protoss has ever played in their life. Without a doubt, Zest will dispatch of Bbyong with a clean victory.
(Z)Losira 0-3 (Z)HyuN: Hyun's home was IPL fight club. He went on a ridiculous winning streak. He is a champion. Hyun will beat Losira.
(P)Classic 3-2 (P)Creator: Yes Creator is very good at PvP, but so far it has only been best of 1's. Classic is a GSL champion. He knows how to win games. Hopefully Creator won't be late to Nexon Arena though, then it'd be a 3-0 for Classic.
===========================================
(T)INnoVation 3-0 (Z)ByuL: Innovation beat Life. INNOVATION BEAT LIFE. That is all.
(P)Dear 2-3 (P)sOs: Probably the closest game here. sOs is so good. But so is Dear. Both have shown that on their good days, they are the best players in the world. Both have also shown that on their off days, they are way less than championship material. This game will definitely be a close one, but I think sOs will do some weird shit that will win him games. Dear, on the other hand, will win standard games.

JAGW deeper lineup than SKT. LOL.
Edit: Actually... upon looking at rosters for 2015 Proleague... you could actually argue JAGW does have a deeper lineup than SKT. Was living in a fantasy (lol) when SKT had Rain, Soulkey, PartinG, Classic, soO, Dark, Dream, and INnoVation.
I can't get over the fact that Starleague Challenger and GSL Code A are held at the same time. So many bad sides to this including that most people would want to watch them both..
For example English casters in Korea are limited so are Tastosis and Wolf & co going to cast them at the same time or what? And on April 1st soO is playing against Seed (GSL, ZvP) and the day after on April 2nd soO is playing against Super (Starleague, ZvP). I think those matches are too close to each other and soO is at a disadvantage on the second match versus Super, because Super can watch the games from yesterday and prepare accordingly.

Oh come on Flash. Great chance to make the Ro16... you have a Bo5 against Leenock, and the current best zerg in the world as a teammate to help you prepare.
But something tells me he'll start playing sloppy in crucial moments and then lose horribly in the deciding set. Which would feel like par for the course with his individual league stints in the past year plus. Depressingly. :/
