Flash's interview after ssl season 2 preliminary
Q. How was the games against Byul?
I feel too bad. Yesterday was a holiday, so I didn't watch his game, so I lost to the proxy spin crawler rush on Expedition Lost. If I had watched, I wouldn't have been defeated in the same way. In another game, I used some strategy, and lost as it failed.

Only explanation to lose to a rush that has been played before they told me.

Yes, usually "strategy builds" are all non-standard builds, basically :D. Probably not necessary all-in, but most of the time they're the weird cheeses and proxies and all-ins, yes.

I'm mainly trolling, but there was e.g. this comment after I wrote that maybe MK didn't check the backdoor because he didn't know the build existed.
Watch the cast again, it's not a one-off cheese. It's a cheese that Symbol tried on the same map in a televised game. That's now going to be on the radar of any pro who's preparing to play a Bo1 on this map basically until the map is out of the pool.
And now Flash says he lost to the build today because he didn't have it on the radar. Even after all the scandal around it he didn't know... Like others have already said, the game looks fishy in the context of the betting. But some of the conclusions drawn can have very simple other explanations.

Aah, too bad. Strange btw that Flash didn't watch the Byul game because of a day of, seems very, well, unprofessional if you ask me..

So you can explain it with a simpler explanation than it was match fixing?
That was the whole point I was making earlier. We all have the information from the OP and the no one has any advantage in predictive power, so the explanation that makes the least assumptions (relies the most on the facts) is that the match was fixed.
Otherwise you go into crazy stories (assuming) and reasoning about why MK did what he did, and why the betting lines were such. And those assumptions could just as easily be turned around, which is why at the moment, we should on the facts as much as possible.
And you can't separate the betting lines from what happened, which is what you've been trying to do in this thread. They both happened and are correlated, you're taking the situation out of context when you separate them.
So please, where is that simple explanation for everything that happened?

Given the ratio of fixed matches to badly played matches, badly played is the simplest explanation. With the betting stuff it may be not, but you know, if you dont have enough information it is often better to not decide upon what you want to believe until you know more.

Your argument is tautologic. The betting line and MKPs play are only related if he was match fixing, you can't presume that they're related if that's what you're arguing for.

Basically you said that people play poorly sometimes and that is the simplest explanation, which raises the obvious question, how did someone know MK was going to play that poorly? And how did they know Byul wasn't going to play as poorly?
And so why then did Pinnacle cancel the action?

Both things happened, because they did. Now explain them.
You can explain them separately, but if you have understanding of betting, then you'll realize that betting line is ludicrous. Its isn't explainable as "well sometimes betting lines are skewed." The simplest explanation for a betting line like that, based on previous betting lines that were ridiculous, is that the match was fixed.
And that is where your explanation isn't simple anymore.

The simple explanation is right here: the match was fixed.
