Wouter “Sjaak” Honig returns to ECVisualize.

When Sjaak joined ECVisualize initially back in the beginning of 2014 he was just a strong player within the Dutch scene. With the bundled powers of ECVisualize and Sjaak, we saw him rise to the top of the Dutch scene in no time. Not long after he even took on the international scene and made some incredible results including his great DreamHack run.

One year after we first signed him, we are glad to sign him once more after his small venture with Mousesports and later Heroes of the Storm. We are looking forward to once more work with one of the most incredible players we have had so far.

Expect to see Sjaak in many online and offline tournaments. Also make sure to Check out ECVisualize and Sjaak in the SC2ITL where we play against some of the strongest teams!

Statement from Sjaak:

I am excited to be back playing for ECV. I took a break from StarCraft 2 but I realise I really enjoy playing the game. I hope I can show my a-game soon again!

We missed you Sjaak, welcome back!

It's all about the reflections of freedom. Even though he hoped for a better world, with all his strenght, all his will, the most he could do was to make her smile.

Isn't he the guy that crushed Axiom is one of the acer cups then disappeared? I remember being impressed with his results, but it was during the blink era...It will be interesting to see how he does now.

Seeing Sjaak back in ECVisualize is a great thing. When Sjaak was playing under the wings of ECV he was motivated and eager to learn and the will to be the best. Lets light up that fire in him and show the SC2 world how big of a talented player Sjaak is.

Not only a great player but also a great person!

...what patch?

There's been no patch recently that affects Protoss. The upcoming patch changes Swarm Hosts and nerfs Ravens. Neither of which are going to affect Protoss in a massively beneficial way.

So I don't see the point in your post at all.

It looks like they are refering as "patchtoss" to players that performed better when terran players hadn't learned how to hold blink all ins yet.

They're talking about the strength of Protoss when Sjaak was rising through the ranks...

Ahh, that makes sense. The way he phrased it seemed to imply he was coming back because protoss was OP at the moment or whatever.

I don't see the appeal of CS:GO. It's too brutal. Look the wrong way for a second and you're dead. I can't wait for 343 to fix their shit with Halo MCC (which is steadily getting better) and see Halo blow up again big time. I think Halo 3 was one of the best competitive shooters ever. Or at least, in our age.

The "blow up again" and "big time" are separate ideas.

Halo was still the flagship of MLG (and it was bigger in the 08/09 days of H3 than it was in 06/07 H2) and drew audiences despite the lack of the technology we have now. It can be a lot bigger.

Just because it isn't news to you, doesn't mean it isn't news to others... Sjaak is a very young Dutch protoss (15?) who made big waves by taking out big names at a Dreamhack.

the acer of protoss. I think teams like that fuel the players to improve having so many of one race talk and discuss strategies with. Nowadays players don't really mass custom games with b-teamers and teammates its a ladder practice mostly.

He barely if at all blink all-inned vs Terran tho, in fact he beat Ryung for example with pretty strong macro + Show Spoiler +
