This thread looks much niced than DLO's.
This tournament is so devoid of Terran, and now Inno who's probably the best one isn't coming.
|
Is the pen mightier than the Classic?
Groups seem quite balanced so far? Hope one of the many Zergs makes it through into group B though.
Edit: And really really hope jjakji makes it through.
|
yessssss, no protoss in herO's group so far! But Classic in instead of Innovation sucks

Really happy to see Classic, was hoping he'd get invited. Sad to see INnoVation out but they found a damn good replacement.
|
I guess we will see if Maru or Life can dethrone the king of IEM herO. This will be good .

Soulkey and Impact in the Open Fighting!

This is a very solid list of players. Should be very nice to watch.

Really nice open bracket I hope Impact and Soulkey get out of the first bracket

Classic instead of inno sucks DONGRAEGU MOTHERFUCKER

Will this be the first Premier Tournament to have 2015 S1 Maps? I am excited to see them in professional Play. Also: I really wish more Tournaments had double elimination, I really dislike single elimination.
|
Oh man, those open brackets are STACKED! Especially the 1st one.
Makes sense though since the entire tournament is stacked.
|
Da fk Innovation. Y u do dis 2 me??? But if it was PERSONAL, I suppose I'll just have to respect that...
Seriously though, Innovation cancelling makes me lose a lot of my interest in the tournament =/...
|
Blargh, only Zergs in the Open bracket and Bogus withdrawing
Edit -- haha, of course someone with the actual ID "Blargh" posted right above me!

Innovation is a... person!?

My money is on Has cheesing his way through the open bracket.

Pretty ok group for ForGG. A bit weird to see so many koreans in the OB. Where are the taiwanese ?

The 2nd bracket is actually very good for snute if he is in form tbh no terrans and zergs aren't superior to him except for maybe drg in zvz

where is KT?

RIP Kas being in the group with Rain and Classic and Group D i do not know who to pick to make it out of that group

I guess this sucks ffor me already, since Polt SEn and hero are my 3 favorite players on this tournament.. T_T oh well... I guess it doesn't matter than I want SEn to win in Taipei or Polt to win his first major of 2015, since I'm always going to root for hero taking every IEM and as many majors as possible =P

When we drew ForGG vs Life I felt kind of bad, but had an evil smile etched on my face.

He'll make Ro8 then lose to the eventual champion

Yes, but no Terran is coming out of that open bracket, so it'll be 4/16

Those open brackets, holy shit. And funnily enough, Snute got way easier bracket.
And poor San got fucked with groups again, God damn.

Maru is going to rekt this whole thing.
Ok maybe not but one can dream.

If DRG or Leenock/Soulkey arrive in group D, Maru can fail to make it out of the Group stage

Expecting Soulkey, Leenock, DRG, Snute. Hoping for Has, Ian, Snute and Impact.

Group D has my favorite player from each race. Awesome!!

Wow, siiiick city! Really nice player lineup in these groups, and even better player lineup for brackets, a ton of Koreans. Open bracket is Zerg heavy, but in the end it should just balance things out in these groups.
Can't wait!

Doable group for Kas, he just gotta practise against Protoss and hope some P like HerO gets into his group out of the open bracket players..
|
Really sucks about INno, that would have been a show-stopping Terran lineup. Still terrific though. Polt vs herO, yes. Life vs ForGG, double yes. Maru... triple yes.
Soulkey, DRG, TRUE and Snute from qualifiers please. Life can solo this bitch, but it'd be nice if he didn't have to.

Leenock's going to win this old school MLG Providence/IPL5 style.

Let me get this straight they play in the Proleague. A team tournament. Where teams play against other teams. And they play together on the same team.... Can we get a rule that says teammates can't play in the same groups plz!

Group D is group of death
|
What the actual fuck, Maru, Parting and Hydra in one group? If Hydra is still in his prime form all 3 of them deserve to get out of group stage. Definitely group of death, will be even worse if TRUE/Soulkey gets in

NICE!!!! so Hyped for this tournament, So many Protosses, The inner Protoss in me is celebrating, and (2nd) favorite Protoss Rain is invited too, come on Rain fetch that Gold. still sad to see INnoVation go though :'(

I would love to see Maru doing well... idk but I feel he has the kind of charisma foreign fans can relate to - Ballsy play, micro, youth...

Disappointing that they invited only Koreans after they already took 3 of the 4 Western qualifier slots.

I think tournament organisers should start announcing who they all invited and who declined because you keep getting this negative feedback even though you do not deserve it. Let the fans know which players declined.

Why does it matter though?
Most probably declined because Taipei is in a very awkward position for EU/NA. Takes so long time to travel there compared to Korea. This is the roster we will get, whether we know who declined doesn't really change anything. Ppl blindly hating is always going to be a thing, even if they put the fact right there in front of them.
And what foreigner did you want to be there? Except for Snute there are barely anyone who can compete with koreans nowadays anyway. I hope Snute does very well. But most foreigners has already abandoned ship and gone to heroes of the storm. (grubby pls come back tt)
|
Daymn pretty stacked... gl to Snute getting out of that open bracket ha
Bit of a shame when after the 4 qualified US/EU players only one of them is actually from that region, but oh well, not like they wouldn't just get crushed anyway (gl Kas)

There has been an update: Kas has dropped out (according to Liquipedia, because of visa issues.) As is verified by the IEM website: Harstem replaces him in his group, where he will presumably continue his Taiwanese Tinder conquests.

Anyone actually going to see it live?
I can't find where you can buy tickets, Garena's official website for the stadium doesn't even have the event listed under their events page...yet?

True, that's what I read as well. However, it's very odd because the game show is located at the world trade center, but according to Liquidpedia, the tournament is located at the Garena stadium. Two completely different places.
Unless Liquidpedia was not updated?
Not many Starcraft2 fans here in Taipei, so I'm sure tickets didn't get sold out too quickly. If there are even tickets to buy?

Ah, that's too bad. The Garena eSports stadium is pretty awesome.
However, this makes it much easier to buy tickets. Time to take off of work to see HerO in action.
